Nairobi at 4:30AM, Namanga at 6:10AM works out to an average speed of 98kph. Mmekimbia, coz at that average speed, Nairobi to Mombasa would take five hours only.
Nairobi to mombasa 5 hours by road??? Is that really true?
With a Subaru Imprezza its 4.30 hrs
At least using buses from Mombasa to Nairobi will take 8 hrs or 9 hrs depending on traffic, SGR took 5 hrs simply because it doesn't have many traffic compared to road.
Those Tanzanian busses don't have speed governors.

This has been one of the longest rides i have had by bus. There fare then was 3,800 early 2022. Amazing experiences, really loved Dar es Salaam, almost like home to me.

Do you know TAHMEED started in mid 90s under the Name Tawfiq, Tahfif, Tashrif, and Takrim, though some said the company were owned by brothers under different management but Tahmeed whether they merge with the rest or not, but Tawfiq was changed into INTERSTATE then Falcon, Then Simba Coach and now Tahmeed. If you think this is a different company then you need to do your research well.

Simba Coach is still operating and it's offices are located along "Kumasi Road" off "River Road" in Nairobi!
It's Simba that birthed Tahmeed.. And simba is still operating up to date.. No your facts right
Roads in Tz are well maintained and marked.very impressive

True to your word, but i think you can also realize there are very few private vehicles and commercial vehicles on the road. In turn their cost of maintenance should be cheaper. What has impressed me most is the discipline on the road.
I like Tanzania and Malawi... Even though Malawi is not well structured on the road sector... But I so love the greenery and the lake... There's a strange and strong feeling as if like I've been there before...maybe in a dream, I don't know ...like I feel connected to all of it somehow in a way I don't even understand.
I'm a South African, Xhosa, in Cape Town, by the way...

The 04:45 hrs Tahmeed caught up with your 04:30 hrs bus at Namanga border. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes for the passengers to get cleared at the Namanga border! At the Busia border it can take around 3 hours to get cleared when going to Kampala!
At 7:56 the driver almost hit some donkeys on the side/edge of the road 😎🤔!
I have enjoyed the coverage of the journey right from NBO to DAR. I like the fact that you are very detailed highlighting everything including exact time of departure from NBO. The time or hours it took to reach Namanga...Then Arusha etc until the end....The distances in between towns etc....And also lastly for specifying the rough distance it is to Dar Es Salaam when you alighted by using "Mlolongo" to "River Road" as an example!

One of my best bus (Dar Express) trips, from Dar to Nbo departure was 6 AM and we arrived at 9:30 PM. The fare was Tsh 52,000 the exchange rate was Tsh 17 to Kes 1, that was way back in 2009.

I traveled in this road other way, in Jan 2023 with Tahmeed, but at that time Tahmeed didn't have these new buses. I wish I will travel there soon

I am a frequent traveler on this road. And I love that night buses have been introduced too. I was also under the assumption Tahmeed, like Dar Express had discontinued their services. How wrong I was. I have purposed to travel with the 37 -seater one next time.

What happened to Saibaba and Dar Express? They once dominated this route,Tahmeed now seems to be having a monopoly on the Dar-Nbo route.
