Haha! He certainly had scope but he jumped like an Antelope! Its taken time for him to relax and learn to loosen in the shoulder and get higher behind and he's really starting to get his technique together now :-) Thanks!
Yey!! I just saw how strange is that?! So glad you're back too :-D Good luck with Paris she looks like a tricky typical chestnut mare but they're so much more fun that way! Thanks xx
Well I wasn't specifically looking for an OTTB when out trying young horses, he just happened to be the one i came away with. I would say that temprament and trainability are the two traits you need to be watchful of, be mindfull that TB's are designed to work and they need a lot of it!! Make sure they have good feet, clean limbs and aren't totally hammered by the racing industry! Good luck! :-)
Welcome back AA! Looks like we've come back around the same time.. both with 5yr old, unraced ex-racers! He looks absoloutely stunning, Hopefully me and Paris will be at your level one day! x Good look with him
He is such an amazing jumper! Did he jump like that when you first tried him? A horse lifting its tail up when in the air is usually a sign of them having a great hind end, and he certainly does!
Its hard to give advise not knowing you or your horse! Be very disciplined with your riding and plan so you're not just wandering about and you have full control with her listening. Lots of upward transitions (on a circle so its easier) to get her off her forehand and don't indulge her leaning, if she's leaning say "here you go" and throw the reins at her, she'll find it hard work working long and low and will soon want to come up and soften! Find a good trainer and work hard! Good luck! :-)
Looks like you're making great progress! Any tips for helping me get my OTTB balanced? She really leans on the forehand and is a wiggle worm. I've had her eighteen months and she is now 6, jumping 3'3" and doing Pony Club D-2 hoping to rate up this summer.

He's gorgeous! And looks fabulous for being a 5 year old off the track!! :)
He's lovely. Congrats! That extra little kick of that hind end is quite hard to ride at first, but you get used to it.
