- After carrying out some mods to my HDR .50 I thought I would do some Chronograph testing on a full power HDR 50.

Nice video as always Ben. I converted my 7,5 joule version with the Powerkit50. The valve volume is bigger so the valvechamber holds more CO2. I get a max of ca 29 joules using heavy slugs (86grn or 5,6 gram) and around 22 joule with the single BB slugs (1,46 gram). Maybe you have seen the video. Take care my friend and happy shooting. Hey Gentlemen, do you think either or both of you could put together a build list of exact parts? I know they are comming from homedefense-24 mostly. I just would like to replicate your build since they are very efficient. And have either of you used the hdp? I have that and noticed similar valve parts on the sight. Any insight would be great. For optimum performance, C02 guns need to rest for several seconds between shots. Some say :10. That is why your 1st shot records higher #'s than the ones after.
Interesting, I wonder why. Is it the temperature differential of the seals returning to ambient temp, post shot?

Thanks for this Videos Mate. I'm thinking all this time you doing a test on expensive slugs why not use a semisoft target where you can retrieve and collect back most ammo that's nit damaged. I do with my ammo reuse them as mutch as possible.

hi 😀 super video super well complete where we see that the influence of the long barrel brings the biggest gain in joule especially by taking the Polish devastator 21 J😎 💪 . Too bad you didn't have the chroni with the basic hdr and then with the valve tip less, but you manage a great video that shows that the hdr is a good revolver that I think can be useful for home defense 😇 I wouldn't like to take a devastator with your long barrel but it must hurt a lot I think ^^😈
Thank you for the testing, good video pal. Surprised how the barrel improved velocity. The best improvement I can see then is the valve and pin, would you recommend this gun and the upgrades.
I think if you are restricted with what you can legally own, then this gun is fairly good. Not the most accurate, but if you need to use in anger it's going to be short range (most likely). And if you are allowed in your country then the upgrades are well worth it.

Hi, great videos Ben, what kind of chronograph do you use? The one in this video, it looks accurate. And, a question: are airsoft chronographs capable of .43-50.calibers correct measurements, as well? Thank you!
It's an LMBR R2A which can be used for Airguns and Firearms, the R2H can do both of those as well as Chrono Archery. It seems fairly accurate. Not sure that Airsoft Chrono's are any good for .43-50 Cal, from what I have read online anyway.

Do you mean the HDS 68? If so then I don't know.
Iv got the 11j revolver got some differ ammo comeing question is how easy it to make your own ammo with the mould's?
It's a fairly easy job, I use hot glue but might try some resin at some point.

Here in the USA we measure feet per second. I have no idea what those numbers represent. Still doubting these would stop someone hopped up on Meth Amphetamine.
In future videos I aim to use both imperial and metric readings. I have said it before, if your up against someone high on something, this is unlikely to stop them.

Maybe not the best home defence tool to have in the USA, but here in Europe I believe it is quite a serious choice.
Being hit at the face with 20 to 30 Jules, .50 caliber rounds is certainly no yoke, and could perfectly stop any attacker, specially if shot with peper balls...
Even a firearm can fail to stop a determined guy immediately, so I guess this odds are worst with this tool, but I simply don't think that is succicient argument to invalidate the home defense potential of the tool...
The looks of the gun, the huge noise when shoot and the power are some serious business and I surely wouldn't want to be hit by this in the face even once...
I have both the 7.5J and the 11J versions (still Vanilla) and the last one is really powerful, I mean it really packs a good punch...
@@raulko4898 If your projectile has a recessed area in the back, pack it with Vaseline for extra FPS. It's thick enough and won't run out when stored in the magazine. It's called dieseling! It can only help stopping a determined intruder.

You have a really good defense tool with the long barrel (even before with the basic one), hope you'll never need to use it, of course.

There are a lot of shoot first ask questions later people (not always bad) who seem eager to take a life. The ones who are WAITING for someone to break into their home so they can shoot someone, those people make me cringe.

The 7.5joule version is legal in the UK, if you mod if afterwards then that's up to you.
@mtoto pori Yes it would be and in all my Mod videos I put a disclaimer saying to only do it if its legal in your country.

@@Maddogairguns So your in France by the looks of it. After some quick googling it looks like France has a 20 joule limit and your first three shots with the barrel extension were over 20 joule.
Must be nice to live in a country where you can modify guns out of their class limits without being a gunsmith.

musisz najpierw zmienić lufę w pistolecie. wtedy będziesz miał gwint do przykręcenia przedłużki, a wtedy będziesz miał większą moc.

I certainly wouldn't want to be hit by it, but depends on the situation. If your assailant is not high on drug, then it might be enough to put them off.
Before upgrading my 7.5J version, I shot an oven tray at 3 meters. It was 2.8g steelcore ammo. It made a big dent in it. So that was 7.5J version.
Now after upgrading, I can only imagine what kind of pain it would cause when shot is well placed. In bad situation where someone is after your soul and coming for you, you can definitely buy some valuable extra time with this thing.

@@Pat7250 If you have an 11joule version you can just remove the valve block, on the 7.5joule version you will need some extra parts as they are slightly different.

No, not really.
@@Maddogairguns I was so concerned that after I swapped out the valve that the 11 would be too loud and I'd have the police at my house! 😂 Even though it was much louder, not bad enough for a visit. I'm so glad I swapped it out and I wouldn't of known anything about it without your video. Thanks Again!

So the experts say! Apparently the 7.5joule version has a larger co2 chamber, so more gas per shot. Mine started at 11 joules and still makes good power.

@@fs.pureblood Sorry, thought it was a sarcastic comment, been getting quite a few recently. With an extended barrel the gas stays behind the projectile for longer causing it to travel at a higher speed.

Depends how much you want to hurt someone! Rubber or rubber coated steel balls are going to smart a bit, but something like a Devastator is going to really sting.

It would do in the UK, but it only just nudged over the limit for France, and that was with the barrel extension which I don’t use.
Can't go above 8.1 joules for pistols in the uk. Not worth messing with.

It's quite tricky getting gun content monetised. Some videos I can get it, but if it's a modification video or I mention full power etc it becomes unsuitable for monetisation. And if I don't put full power in the title, the videos don't seem to get the views.

E= energy, measured in joules. V= velocity, measured in metres per second.

You can now get the full power version in the UK as its classed as a paintball pistol, I know this as I have one bought from my local rfd

@@landraver90 I do but you wouldn't get a pistol on an fac being the size and calibre it is, I bought my 11j version from my local rfd in Dorset, its a marker so does not fall under the 6ftlbs pistol rule however I do think its a grey area
