I would love to play on official, the true vanilla, but I just always regret it and have to resort to community servers, which all have their own individual problems.

Have you considered hopping on some hardcore servers like IntenZ? They might have a slower pace but i feel like people might be more likely to interact when captured as to not lose levels (you get some slight bonuses over time, lose a bit of progress on death) or simply gear / time spent on ones without that mechanic.
I never have that much issue with desync. A lot of these bugs and glitches i've never seen before. It's dayz even the bugs are random. Every time you play you are spinning the wheel of death. The hacker was a sad reminder of how pathetic some people are. It's a fun game and to each his own.
My pain was finding a car battery across the whole north section of chernarus we went from airfield to novaya, my friend dropped a battery at airfield saying "when we will need it we won't find any" a car only needed wheels that we found a shit ton of wheels then we only needed a battery we ran from sinystok to ratnoe looting all cities' barns and sheds and NO BATTERY AT ALL. I killed a guy in novaya then we were like just fuck it push atc at airfield then we sniped another guy who was as stacked as the other one at novaya so we'll go to another server now (we are on official) and find a car or something because i love pvp and my friend loves base building and looting so i won in this scenario but we have to build a base now and get a car :D
Just so you know, the creat helmet from castles also deflects bullets😉, I seen vid of a guy being shot in the head and the bullet deflected off the helmet and killed a guy on the other side of the room, it's the most realistic thing I've seen in the game yet.
I used to play serious but as you learn the ends and outs of the game and find everyone using exploits it became way less serious for me. I hate the exploits on console but at the same time it's not enough for me to care and ruin my own experience. There is no vanilla server on console because of cheaters. I think it takes away from the survival aspect of the game but to each his own. I do not use exploits or dupe personally to keep my experience as hard as possible. I only have 1 account too to force myself to be more aware. I don't mind the coast. I do however see why people hate official because it's furthest away from being official

Aside from some very very sketchy situations where someone magically finds my INSANE hidden location of a stick shelter on a no pop server. Point being, community servers are better, but if I'm in the mood for classic ole dayz there are SOME good official servers.
