- Now it’s time for the Pizza Head show! If you’re of a certain age, you may recall a series of commercials involving a talking slice of pizza called Pizza Head, particularly around Halloween. But where did the Pizza Head Show come from? And what happened to it? This is the horrifying history of Pizza Hut’s Pizza Head.

As soon as I saw pizza head, Mr Bills "OH NOOO" immediately popped in my head😂
Ahaha, I Immediately said "Ohh No!"
It's funny how that and the Quizno's Rats stick with you, but I couldn't begin to recall half of the jingles of mainstream brands these days (mostly because they don't really have them anymore)
They are so good we'd eat them raw but eating raw subs is barbaric@DJBSharpMusic
What the hell, me too
That's what got my attention since I saw the 'Mr. Bill' skits before hand.
This video unlocked a suppressed memory 😊
You unzipped me! Oh god, you unzipped me...
I forgot I had this information in my head and I don't know how I feel about recalling it again ...
Or incepted it...oh god I can't tell
Omg, me too! I forgot all about Pizza Head. 😂
@TartarianCritters Yes! Stick Sickley! I remember this little guy from Nick from time to time. I truly wish I could share some of these memories with my daughter now.
I also remember older shows like Weinerville. Nostalgia is hitting me hard.
I heard he’s harassing a Pizza restaurant owner named Peppino.
Along with the Noid, Papa John, Screaming Sicilian, Tombstone and bell pepper hipster. Stranger team ups have happened but corporate pizza really wants this guy to go out of business.
Not only did this unlock pizza head in my mind but it brought stick stickley from nickelodeon back too.😂
Stick Stickley and Holly B. Wood are awesome.
I remember when I saw Mr. Bill and realized this whole time that Pizza Head was a parody of that.
Duh
@@AISlopTheatre so mr. Bill if he were a pizza....face thing.
Was Mr. Bill a ripoff of Jack Box?
@alysdexia not really but he is kinda a Rip off of Ronald Mcdonald And The king from Burger King
@@ghostbusterguy20011 why not?
I often wonder if Pizza Head and Stick Stickly inspired each other. Remember the Nickelodeon host that was a Popsicle stick?
Simmer down
@@AlmightySeaver - Haha. You clearly know what I'm talking about.
That must be why I always thought Mr. Pizza Head was a Nickelodeon character!
Write to me, Stick Stickly: P.O. Box 963, New York City, New York State, 10108.
I wonder if I remembered that little song correctly after all these years?
I thought Pizza Head was a fever dream from my childhood! Sucks that commercials these days aren't creative like this anymore
Great video, use to love these commercials when I was younger. I knew about Pizza Head before I knew about Mr. Bill, these commercials were always a highlight between cartoons.
I also remember learning a few years later about Mr. Bill and realizing these commercials were more or less the same thing. They worked when I was a kid though, along with those coupons they were always giving out at my school for reading. They made fat little readers out of all of us.
@@ottav69I was a kid in the ‘90s, however I don’t remember our school giving out the coupons. We did get a couple of free books through Reading Is Fun though and I got into American Girl through that.
I saw Pizza Head first in Second grade. Then later in Fourth Grade, I first encountered Mr. Bill on that short lived Oh Nooo! Mr. Bill Presents. That same show was where I also first encountered Mr. Bean.
Oh me too, I knew Pizza head before Mr. Bill
I found an old vhs tape full of pizza head adds I recorded fox kids and cartoonnetwork.
“Wait a minute he’s not a chef!” Omg I laughed so hard at this at 10 years old, thanks for the random memory!
We have a beautiful collection of Pizza Head memorabilia in our studio. Williams was a huge inspiration for us. Amazing video.
I need Pizza Head and the Noid to have a showdown. 😂
The Noise campaign in Pizza Tower is easily the closest we’ll have to that for a while
Handicap cage match pizza head and slicer steve vs the noid I'd pay for that ppv
The Noid would blow himself up! 😅😂😅
Can we make it in the form of Celebrity Death Match?
You can already do that in Pizza Tower lol
I KNEW IT!!! I always knew the Pizza Head commercials where made by Mr.Bill's creator. Me and my friends thought it was a knock off, but I said it had to be Mr.Bill's doing.
You dirty little LIAR!!!!! You say you knew it, then you say you and your friends thought it was a knock off then go back to saying you knew again. Shaaaaaaaaaaame
My friends and I*
Do you say things like "Me like pizza"?
Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken have both fallen from grace, and fell hard.
Even the Colonel was spitting tacks, he was so mad over what that conglomerate did to his brand upon acquiring it.
I still think Pizza Hut is decent. but KFC is almost Burger King tier at this point.
@knottheory79220 Poor business practices, and low-wage work with a huge amount of overhead executives. Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell are one and the same. They are licenced to Pepsi.
There are nutritional trends that get kinda stupid; MSG being racist propaganda against, ‘some’ asian restaurants way back for Umami. Market share competition. ‘Trans-fats’ forgotten already are way more dangerous and taste amazing.
Let me be clear, ‘Trans-Fats’ are another word for Hydrogenated oils. They act as a solid when not hot. They taste way better and clog your sewer system akin to your blood vessels and arteries.
If you think getting your sewers clean is expensive because you don’t want to collect grease in a cup to cool and solidify for the wastebasket; Just wait for the medical bills and death.
"He's going to be mean to me!"
-Mr. Bill
"Hey, he's not a _______"
-Pizza Head
Glad to see ol pizza head still kicking it old school
Thanks for this!! I had forgotten all about the Pizza Head ads! Thanks for the unlocking some wonderful childhood memories!! These ads were hilarious, as were the Mr. Bill skits, which I only remember, cause Mr. Bill had made a comeback in the '90s.
In the 2000's as a Kid, I made homemade comic versions of the commercials after watching them on the Internet
Watch out for Steve
Pizza Head?? The guy from Pizaa Tower!? :o
Isn't that John Pizzatower? Famous for that meme where he's standing there and saying "I'm John Pizzatower"?
It’s that dude that says he’s “the dude from Pizza Tower”
might have inspired him? idk
What’s Pizza Tower?
Just a 2D platformer with amazing graphics and a banger ost.
My mom was a manager at pizza hut in the early 90s. I definitely remember pizza head stuff.
Pizza Head could’ve and should’ve became Pizza Hutt permanent mascot.
No lie they dropped the ball on that one
Domino's had the night in Pizza Hut had this I remember it being more for kids than anything
Companies seem to hate mascots now.
The only company that has fully fledged faith in their mascot is Jack-In-the-Box.
Their commercials are the best too. 😊
@Brabbs it's because of the same reason company logos year after year get less detailed and more simplified all to cut costs and corners and should a company get a mascot well then that means they have to actually pay a human being to be said mascot or worse pay multiple people to design and create a costume/headpiece ect which is just clearly unacceptable when it comes to the classic corporate bottom line of profits over expenses it's sad but true just give it 15 more years and every corporate logo will be a 2-d black and white super generic logo
@@T.h.e__T.r.u.t.h oof, wtf is inflating our economy this badly?
I loved Mr. Bill as a kid, and Mr. Pizzahead was great back then too. Fond memories of both.
Something something funni Pizza Tower moment
Althought, thinking about it, Totino Pizzaboy and the Pizzaface Mech design have more in common with Pizza Hut's Pizzahead than the actual Pizzahead lol-
yes, pizza head and stick stickly live rent free in my head
You completely unlocked a memory with Pizza Head.
The second I saw the thumbnail it all came flooding back and I found the backstory really fascinating! Great video.
Knowing that Pizzahead was created by the Mr.Bill creator makes so much sense... I can't believe I never PIECEd that together.
I remember finding these commercials kinda intense as a kid lol
I used to be obsessed with Pizza Head back in The 90's. I used to draw infinite pictures of him and Steve at Pizza Hut.
“Hey! He’s not a [insert random noun]!”
“Sure he is!”
How did I forget about Pizza Head?? I LOVE Mr. Bill and was always excited for these commercials!
Speaking of "Oh No, Mr. Bill!" and this Pizza Head show... does anyone else remember in the mid to late 90s a sketch comedy show(I think "Oh No, Mr. Bill" and Mr. Bean were apart of this show) on Fox Family or something and they had one sketch where there was like a pizza monster or some guy that killed people with pizza or turned them into pizza? It was a one-off sketch but I remember it vaguely but can't figure out exactly where it was from or what it was called.
Omg I have vague memories of this!!
i think he made a pizza tower
I remember Pizza Head, around the same time Nickelodeon had Stick Stickly.
Severely underviewed channel! Your VO is great, and your presentation is solid! Looking forward to more.
I remember not really understanding how big the Pizza Hut company was when those commercials were going on, so when my parents took me to eat one time, I asked if this was the Pizza Hut where they made the "Pizza Head" commercials.
I only just realized that Pizza Head (The one from pizza tower) was based on this era of advertising as a whole. He even has lyrics from a different ad in his theme
Pizza Hut had a good run in The 90s...
I used to watch compilations of these on TH-cam when I was little. I was born after these ads ended.
It's time for the Pizza Head show! 🍕
So many memories 🍕
as a 30 something I repressed this memory thanks for bringing it back! I always wondered why I hated the gingerbread man from Shrek.
Completely 100% forgot about this!!! Thank you.
So glad I opened my phone to see this freshly posted! 😍 Love all your videos, your editing is so pleasing & I always learn something new! ✨
I hope you keep creating, can’t wait for all the spooky vintage fun this month! 🎃
This is so lovely to read! I am so glad you enjoy them! 😊
I don't recall Pizza Head, but I've been a fan of Mr. Bill since the first SNL showing!
I have a DVD box set of Mr. Bill shows.
I want to remember this so badly, but I just don’t. I was alive at the time, but I guess I was just too young.
They would've had better success by making their pizzas less greasy.
Their fall from grace has been a long one 😂
Pizza Head Pizza did not change my love for pizza. Nom nom
I miss pizza head
Really great video! I'm usually a bit weary of watching videos from smaller channels, but I'm glad I did and that YT recommended this to me. The research, editing and overall flow was all very well done. Your voice definitely fits as a narrator too!
Keep up the good work and you'll definitely do well here! Cheers! 😊
Do you also feel weary about listening to unknown bands and prefer to stick to the mainstream success artists. Not trying to be rude just curious because I see where your coming from yet that should never stop you from clicking if the title speaks to your heart
@@T.h.e__T.r.u.t.h Not really, no. I'm listening to both large and small artists. As I'm mainly into electronic type of music, in which there are crazy amounts of smaller artists that can make awesome music at home with only their computer without any record labels. It's an awesome time to live in!
@Pheorize it sure is and I completely agree as for me acts like Flume Odesza Glass Animals how bout you
Oh wow! I forgot about these commercials, it’s all coming back to me now
I completely forgot this.
This was very nostalgic. :)
Great history video! I loved these commercials as a kid. Worked on me cuz I always wanted Pizza Hut!
Pizza Head was the totally zany Pizza Hut mascot, he was shown in a lotta of 90's era Hut commercials, lol.
Ooh god i remember the pizza head but not until i saw the thumbnail. Thank you lol
Really cool video! Had no idea this even existed. Really informative and fun! Wondering why you dont have more engagment.
YAAAAAAY, IT'S THE MR. PIZZA HEAD SHOW!!! I was a huge Mr. Bill fan as a kid, and I didn't quite make the jump at 6 to realizing the ads were made by the same people, I just assumed it was part of a mildly sadistic subgenre that satisfied the childlike desire for wanton destruction. I was kind of like Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes, and the show definitely captured my evil little heart. Thank you so so much for the video!
Pizza hut at 1:42 looks like it could have been the one from my town.
It's not, but it looks like it could have been.
I forgot this was a thing until seeing your video thumbnail in my feed.
"Oh yeah! I do remember that thing, but I didn't know I remembered it"
Pizza head & stick sticky we’re both inspired by Mr Bill and his “oh noooo” catch phrase.
It definitely stuck with me. I was born in 1989, and I'll never forget these commercials. They were so funny! Our pizza cutter at home was named Steve. Any time we needed to use it, we'd go, "where's Steve?" Everybody in my family knew what it meant.
I remember these ads. This was a good video on them.
Solid video. Friends and I loved the Pizza head commercials. I used to specifically ask (demand) parents get Pizza Hut pizza because of it. Wish some marketer would have asked our opinions.
The dominoes falling over to create the pizza hut logo was insanely good I couldn't stop laughing.
I was the target audience during some of those years, but I have no recollection of these commercials.
I was enamored by these commercials when I was a very young child!
Keep It Weird!
Just Found Your Channel..... Happy Times!
Did pizza head do a crossover with Stick from nickelodeon?
Don't remember seeing too many of these as a kid, but I particularly remember the Trick or Treat and Shark ones. Was amazed when I suddenly remembered these a few years back and found a number of them on TH-cam.
Wait wait Pizza Head is real???? Hes not just from Pizza Tower????
I remember this from way back in the 90s!!
Anyone else notice that for the past few years, everytime you eat at pizza hut, everyone who ate there gets sick after?
I can't believe I had forgotten this - thsnk you for inflicting it upon me decades later
I kinda hate that I remember this now. I'd blessedly forgotten it, and now it's back in my memory banks. And this time I'm pretty sure this time it will never leave.
Excellent show, super impressed. Long live Pizza Head and your channel.
Thanks for the unexpected blast from the past! ❤
Hazy childhood memory rediscovered. Thanks guy on the internet!
Pizza head crossed my mind around last week. 😂 so glad to have found this video!
Bro this gave me flashbacks wow
The editing on this video is awesome! I wish I knew more about editing videos so I could make videos like this.
Your ad break for like, comment and subscribe was cute! You got all 3 for that one!
i liked the pizza head commercials as a kid. I also knew the commercials must have taken heavy inspiration from the Mr. Bill but i never would have guess the show's creator was involved
This is the only timeliness where saying that one of Mr bill's friends was named Mr Hands... and people immediately think of that poor horse.
This channels going to be big!
Fun Fact: This isn't Colossal's first time doing a Pizza commercial, they did worked on the lost Chuck E Cheese commercial back in 1979 when the company was still new
I found a new channel to unwind to! ☺️
Hey, I was a fan of Mr. Pizza Head. Even based a school project on him - during my senior year! Only reason these ads didn't have my fam running to Pizza Hut every other weekend - we didn't have one in the little podunk we were living in. But we did have one of the best pizza places west of the Mississippi. I'd tell you what it is - but then I'd have to send Tour Guide Steve to pay you a visit.
Oh, he's a tour guide - trust me... 😎
i always knew it was based on mr. bill because i had a vhs compilation of the mr. bill skits, but i never knew it was the same guy making them
Even though I kind of think Pizza Hut is gross these days, I have to confess, as a dumb little impressionable kid, Pizza Head and Steve worked on me. Whenever going out for pizza was on the table, I insisted on Pizza Hut so I could take in the Pizza Head branding and paraphernalia.
Okay so these commercials are tributes to the Mr. Bill shorts from SNL. Good to know. I'm glad I wasn't the only person who noticed that when I first saw a compilation of these shorts on TH-cam a year ago.
I just realized that Pizza Face from the hit videogame Pizza Tower is actually a reference to this character. His previous form Pizza Boy even looks like this character with tiny arms & legs. Amazing to think that game references both this & the Dominos Noid.
One day Pizza Head gets thrown to prison.
Narrator: Hey Pizza Head, it's inmate Bubba Steve!
Pizza Head: Wait, what is he doing here?
Narrator: Bubba Steve said you're his bitch.
Pizza Head: Wait wha-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!
"Wait a second he's not a chef!!"
Pizza Hut-Mid-Late 1990's
As a kid, watching Pizza Head commercials would always make my mom mention Mr. Bill. I would ask who Mr. Bill was and she would go on to tell horror stories where he’d die in every episode. She said it was extremely funny and after watching enough of Pizza Head, I agree. ☝️
I now know where McPig got the inspiration for Pizzahead (the final boss).
Wow lol, I had forgotten about Pizza Head but I remember now that I saw a great many of them. I remember putting the 2 and 2 together that Mr. Bill and Pizza Head where very similar, almost too similar. I remember that bugged me somewhat but I had no idea until today that the creator of Mr. Bill and had a hand in creating Pizza Head.
We used to have 4 pizza huts in my town, maybe 5, but I only know 4 for sure by my own memory. Now we only have 1.
Our local Pizza Hut shut down. I really don't know why considering it was always busy. It was NEVER empty so far as I could see. Everything was in good repair. And I liked the food.
Could've been the franchisee. We had a few Sonics in this area owned and ran by the same person. He became sick, I'd heard he'd developed cancer, and he didn't want to sell them or let them go despite his illness. So once he passed the locations, despite being successful ones, closed.
Our pizza hut closed because a manager brought his 7k inheritance check or cash to work and another employee brutally murdered him then threw him in the on-site dumpster true story this year Milwaukee county give it a google
I remember seeing these on TH-cam back in the day! I loved them! :D
Pizza Head was the only thing keeping Pizza Hut relevant for years. If they properly capitalized on it by improving their pizza and innovating new toppings, then they might be more than an afterthought today.
I love those commercials. Pizza Hut really needs to bring back pizza head.
I had COMPLETELY forgotten about these commercials! I always thought they were funny though when I was younger.
