    Awesome video showcasing the excavator, mini skidder, and Eastonmade attachment 👍 Absolutely huge beech destroyed in a 1/10 of the time, if not quicker, than noodling. Great job, loved the video 😊

    You definitely have the right tools to handle that big stuff. That would kill me if I had to noodle that massive tree just to be able to handle it. Beech is a super dense tree too. Decent for boneless skinless smoker wood too💪

    That 3120 is a beasts. Those lower sections of beech will definitely be a challenge to split. Interesting to see how the eastomade skid steer splitter handles it

    Nice to see all the additions working out. Before the tractor, mini ex, skid steer, splitters and good saws….this would have taken 60 hours with the rugged made and 290 and would have broken your back. Nice work.

    so i was looking for a good video of how MS324 works. after 14:16 mins of nonsense and self-promotion there's actual footage of the MS324. i count 7 attempts to split that round. do you consider that effortless ?

    We have some 34" American Beech blocks waiting to be processed that have been bucked up for awhile. Seemed like the 324 handled them pretty well overall. We'll see how the new Axis likes them before too long. 🤔 Chris was eating that Beech up with the 3120!

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 324 handled them easy once you popped them the first time!

  • @andrewsmith3121
    @andrewsmith3121 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    When you can't get the split, especially with dense wood like Beech, adjust the splitter wedge so that it isn't deep, and let the wedge just get 2-3" into the wood and it will split. When you have the wedge 9" into the wood, that is a TON of force that is needed to do that deep cut. Also, next time you talk to Andrew about the splitter, recommend to him that his next version has a dual split wedge, and stops at both ends. Then, your cycle time is going to be 1/2. Cut right, then cut left on the next split. Rather than having to cycle full stoke each time to get back to position 1. Keep up the great videos.

    That spliter on the mini skid are totaly usless and none productive. I run one an they don't have the power to split 20" birch blocks. 2 things the spliter knife an butt plate are way to short to get a clean split. 2 the cylinder bore is way to small to get anought tonnage to split. Any spliter cylinder needs to be minimum 5" barrel with minimum 2" rod. I biuld whole units from just a spliter to a full Circular saw prossasser. Don't even think of one with a slow production bar an chain were you have to sit an wait for that bar to cut through a log at every 16" slow as he'll an far to many teeth to file. Compared to a carbide circular saw you can zip through 2 to 3 good sized logs in 2 seconds an when tooth is not sharp it take second to change an insert an they also stand up to dirt far longer then any chain. And really fast cutting.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you watch the video you’ll see the splitter was anything but useless and split very large green beech rounds relatively easily.
