I never noticed how the instruments kinda carry off each other. Like one instrument stops in the middle of a medley just for the next to continue or finish it (it theres an official term for this, please tell me)
I've heard it termed "call and response" but I'm sure there's other names. And yes it's very cool. If you listen for it, you may find it in other music you like; it's pretty common in some kinds of music, especially with many instruments (such as orchestral, unlike rock)
Actually thinking about it, this very genre has it a lot. Jazz/ big band does it all the time, between the saxophone section, trumpets, low brass, etc. And if there's a singer they'll often interplay with them too.
That’s actually been done, hell, the entire soundtrack was done for the master system, and can be played on real hardware, just look up Dv2 sonic 3 on yt
How would I best get a hold of you to discuss using these (and other tracks you're done) for a project I'm developing? If you don't want to share anything yourself on here, and I don't blame you, I don't mind providing my email, discord handle, etc. I would love to collaborate with you!
You don’t need to get a hold of his files for the music if that’s what you’re referring to, there are programs out there that allow you to split mega Drive music tracks into their channels, unfortunately, I don’t know the name of it, but I happen to get one when I downloaded something else, and have played around with it
@@ViewpointProd I'm aware of that. Trust me, if I had a computer capable of using said programming, I'd do that part myself, but there's also more nuance behind what I need than just the separated channels.
Bass and drums start at 2:52
ToeJam & Earl vibes

Love the piano roll format
When someone asks me what "groove" is, I show them this.
I could literally listen to the bass and drum track for hours ! The groove is tight with this one
And I've found the tune to be in my head all weekend lol
2:35 Sounds like hydrocity Zone If it was composed on the Sega Master System.

The Genesis has the same chip as the master system, but those sounds are from the og ost.
