Game Designer on DRG here! The Glycerin Mixture OC was made to turn charged shots into mines. I think at one point you were also able to jump on them to get a boost (if I remember correctly), after which it would pop. It could also help break your fall. Most of the third secondary OC prototypes were scrapped early on, which is why the balancing sucks, however some of the ones on third primaries were far until they got scrapped in favor of the ones that made it in. The Sludge Pump was a fucking nightmare to make stuff for because I had so many stupid ideas for overclocks, such as charged shots creating a geyser that would spread goo around impact and the ability to vacuum puddles and recycle them as ammo. Great video! Love seeing some of the old and unused stuff I forgot all about.
The geyser idea sounds cool, even if I struggle to see how that'd actually play out in game. I actually like Glycerin Mixture the more I think about it. Maybe making it so that it can be triggered by shooting them, and they'd shoot small fragments in all directions sounds funny. It'd be interesting if the fragments did more damage, but the puddles themselves didn't last very long. but I can see that possibly stepping on the toes of sludge blast. I'm just disappointed you guys didn't make an OC centered around nuclear waste. Like the boys at RnD decided it'd be funny to mix the waste from the space rig's nuclear reactor with the sludge. IDK what the actual stats would be other than including radiation damage of some type.
I feel like the jetpacks can be implemented but maybe as a random find during missions rather than something you always have. Maybe you find an old special resupply belonging to a past crew that has the jetpacks in it but trying to take them triggers a massive swarm. If you complete it you get the jetpacks for the rest of the mission.
So we learn something of their MO for testing and implementation. They have a sort of theme for their brainstorms (ie: let’s work on sidearms, or grenades, and etc). Ideas are implemented alone for testing. They are later combined with other ideas, then refined and shifted towards a class. Sometimes they are shelved due to performance, fun factor, or balance issues. I do hope they return to armor rig and equipment perks and start creating synergies for new functionalities. The rocket boost pack was cool.
I don't remember if mentioned this or not. But the driller Goo canon still have alternative fire mode in old and today's version of game. The vacuum cleaner fire mod that can suck goo on floor back to the cannon. Dunno why this still in weapon files but as fact.
I forgot the name of the overclock but I think I have some footage of it. It worked fairly well for recycling goo for some pretty decent returns. The Drak ammo regen OC used to give infinite ammo too.
Helps put into perspective just how much work it takes to make these new weapons. Not even covering the cosmetic side of it which i suspect also took a long time as the new guns have a lot of unique assets for the skin sets.
The Ionizer Ray OC is literally just Divinity from Destiny 2, both are constant laser weapons that would weaken and slow enemies, along with having a blue laser.
Glycerin Mixture could be detonated by Subata while midair by shooting it. No luck with the Goo Geyser OC? I remember seeing the projectile in the files for a while but not the OC.
Simplistic and blue. I'm glad they reworked the lockon sounds. Look at that plasma carbine spin! It's like a carneval ride. Wierd seeing scout use the coil gun.
Dammit by the title I thought maybe you were going to talk about prototype /scrapped concepts for overclock for the utility and support equipment Like overclocks for the turrets or c4 or platforms or shield generator erg cos those could be really interesting (although probably not many of them, cos they're already pretty focused as they are, itd b hard to find ways to add modifiers to some of them - like what could u add to the grappling hook & drills?)
Man a laser pistol would be awesome on driller. I find trouble with range if You don’t take ice spear or subata remote det. Would be nice to be able to ZZZZZAAAAAp a brood nexus across a cave

To be fair: the geyser sounds like a lot of fun, but it makes sense that it was scrapped.

I second this. RnS
that'd be cool
People are gonna fight over the jet pack.
@@gregtestagent well I'm sure that if they were to implement them then everyone would get one
You were goddamn right

So mad they got rid of the spinning barrel for the Drak at 3:18, someone make it a mod NOW

Great video! i know i don't watch much but every time i come back im impressed more and more.

if I/we get it working I'll make an entry update for it
Spinny Drak looks sick as hell
A rocket launcher ala Unreal Tournament would be AWESOME.

Imagine that the e jet pack is a season 4 or more secondary movement tool like for gunner or engineer
Best intro ever dude 😂
jetpack: unused
Jetboots in 4 season: hallo))
Give it to the devs for so many ideas to try and give us better equipment!
Rock n'Stone everyone
lol we almost had the Ryno from ratchet and clank!
Oh I so wish we had gotten ionizer ray for the wave cooker…
Great content!

how smoother were rockets moving inside hurricane
Oh my goodness, I would use Charge Mechanism so hard. I really don't like unguided salvo.

nice
Wait, where is the equipment part ?
High velocity stabilizer is literally just the autocannon. Glad that one was cut, but surprised it made it that far
Blah blah blah blah blahaha
