It would be terrifying to see of your two best friends horrifically merged together knowing that both of them are still aware of what’s happening to them in constant pain and you can’t help them.
I don't actually think SpongeBob or Patrick have any consciousness left that's not primal and animalistic. In the SpongeRot AU once a sea creature reaches stage 4, they revert back to how their species would normally act.

@@funkincringe8763 but thats the thing. They havent decayed (visibly at least) yet. While sure Patrick was at stage 3, and spongebob probably stage 2 by now, they havent reached stage 4. If they even can. Maybe due to fusing they share antibodies, causing them to be (almost) immune but... the damage is done. They still *hunger*

Well in the SpongeRot lore "PatBob" is in a glass cage in Sandy's lab and is frequently tested on by Sandy to see if she can bring them back. With Sandy slowly loosing her mind trying to find the cure. I'm sure they've gotten used to seeing them like this.

Yep. Patrick was the first to get bit and SpongeBob took Patrick into his pineapple to help sooth him, not knowing how bad the virus truly was. Patrick ended up biting SpongeBob and infecting him as well. More info about the AU can be found in the links in the description.
There's something really tragic about this. I don't know how to say this but it really feels like something horrible happened within the show.
What I am trying to say is that this does a lot more to the whole "ruining childhoods with horror" genre than most games that just do *"sPoNgEgLoCk BuT hE hAs rEd pUpIlS aIEHHHHHHH!1!!1!1!1!1 pls subscrib"*
The instrumental really sells the atmosphere and gives off the fear of what lurks in the dark. The design is also terrifying, as the way SpongeBob and Patrick are hugging really shows that they are terrified and in constant pain, the bite marks and Sandy's face are a nice touch.
I imagine that Sandy and Squidward are exploring an abandoned Glove World, or that Sandy is experiencing a flashback. 2:26
Anyways, good job on this song. My only complaint are the vocals, as they sound off at times. But still, a banger.
I'm beginning to notice that Patrick and SpongeBob both have bite marks so it makes more sense that why they begin to merge I wish there's more coming out soon because the lore will be an interesting one

I'm not sure I fully understand the question but at this stage I think that he is beyond saving. His brain is fully rotted away.
