This was taken days ago. This weekend is on the grey sky side... The area you see is full of poo currently! It is going to take days to fix it... www.watercare.co.nz/About-us/News-media/crews-attending-major-wastewater-pipe-blockage-at
@@larscrantz Yes, it is crazy, isn't?! That's what years of underinvestment in infrastructure do. Apparently it killed all life by the beach and even being on the beach isn't safe because of the wind containing excrements etc. I am not going to eat any fish/mussels for awhile. Because of this I still haven't paddled the sea kayaks I got lately. I plan to paddle it tomorrow from another beach but there is a risk of thunderstorms so lets see!
Great choice, I am sure you will enjoy it! Yes the pedals/footplate and the rudder underneath are included. What’s optional is a stern rudder at the back (the one at the back).
@@kayakintro Thanks. I bought the GT for the extra stability for fishing but am looking at going to Viking Espri for fishing and the v5 for just paddling. The v5 is only a bit more expensive than a SOT and I should be able to put my cart in the hatch.
@@maldrury8313 Viking Kayaks has increased (A LOT!) their price lately, which makes the V5 look more affordable now. I think the Reload is now $3136. It used to be 2500!
It is extremely buoyant indeed and excellent in the surf. If you click on Josue’s profile (he posted in the comments here) you can see some great clips of his V5. He just swapped to a V7 now because it glides better.
Hello my friend! Can I ask you a question? For those who are used to paddling a sit on top kayak and have never used a surfski, would the V5 be a good choice? For a beginner, is it difficult to adapt to the stability of the V5?
@@kayakintro Thank you, man! I'm still trying to decide whether to buy a surfski or a sea kayak. Here in Brazil they are still very expensive. I can't make mistakes
@@ives.santos Here new they are both quite expensive. Used, some can be very cheap. Where in Brazil do you paddle? A sea kayak is a lot more stable because the centre of gravity is lower. If you have a surf beach a plastic surfski is better because you can put your legs out fast!
Beautiful ! The water looks inviting and the ride on the wake was the exclamation point 😂
My favorite little ski, the V5
Forgot to take a video of the hatch! It was hard to remove and to put the lid back. At least no leak!

Beautiful weather you seem to have over there😎! I plan to paddle tomorrow, 7-8 degrees according to the forecast...🤔

@@kayakintro What🤦♂!! I wouldn't like to paddle in that. Hope it clears up soon!

Hi! I'm going to buy the epic kayak v5 i have a question
I s The v5 includes the pedals and the keel? Thank for your answer

Could I go from paddling a Viking Profish GT to the V5 without spending too much time falling off?
Absolutely! And so much faster than the GT I paddled once. It is also much lighter/easier at each paddle stroke compared to some sit on top.

Looks to be a very buoyant ski with that high volume front end, extra good lift I would imagine.
