    What you said about dumping the charcoal out as soon as you see flames is absolutely critical! Ever time I've waited for them to ash over before putting them in, the grill would get up to like 400F, but then start dropping to the like 300.

      Exactly! If you let the coals on top get red hot, the bottom coals are half burned up as well. Thanks for watching! Smoke on!!!

    Thanks so much. I've seen these and heard people talk about the charcoal chimney but I didn't really know how to use it. I'm definitely going to get us one, my wife and I both love to grill out. Have a good day!

    Wouldnt the paper ash affect the taste?

    • @TheAmericanSmoke
      @TheAmericanSmoke  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Maybe if you were to cover the food with it but very little will make its way out of the ash pan. Most gets burned into pure carbon before the food ever makes its way into the grill. Thanks for watching! Smoke on!!!

    Happy 4th!!! What were you cooking? I ask because, I’m cooking ribs and wings in indirect heat so i can get that smoke flavor. If you’re cooking at higher temp, I’m assuming you want to cook fast. I could be wrong with my assumption, so I’m looking for more info on what i should do. Thanks

    • @TheAmericanSmoke
      @TheAmericanSmoke  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For smoky flavor, low and slow is the way. Indirect with some wood chips or chunks in your coals will provide awesome flavor.
