How on earth are you able to come up with new interesting and thought provoking ideas every week??
Every time I see one of your videos I learn something or you help me see things in a different light. Thank you☺️
In my pot of gold I shall have a better health, my family and friends.
LOL!! I wonder that sometimes too! I just sit and think; what can I share that will bless my viewers and then jot down thoughts and ideas from real life!
Dear Emmy and Paul. I don’t mean to bring things down here. But my pot of gold would only contain one thing. More time with my dear husband of 45 years, who is battling stage 4 cancer. You and Paul have the kind of relationship we do, cherishing each other and a simple life. More time is all I want. I wish to say to all of you to cherish each precious day and love each other. God Bless.
Oh I am so very sorry...Our prayers are with you!
Sending you love and light ❤
Nursing homes are also a great place to donate your cards to. They don't have enough money to have extra cards so residents can give a card to their kids or siblings.
Oh thank you! I’m purging in my craft room and have a whole box of cards I need to donate.
Great idea!!
And old books, magazines,puzzles,board games,etc
What a GREAT idea!!
Yes, definitely!
Serving God, loving family and health would be my top three...
Amen
Wonderful, Veronica!
The mental, physical and spiritual health of my loved ones.
I help disabled adults who are artists. I actually get people's "junk" that these artists are able to make gorgeous 🎨 art..... This IS very near and dear to my heart ❤️.
Oh how wonderful!
I organized my scrap yarn stash last fall. With thicker yarn I made blankets for cats and donated these to no-kill animal shelter. Next I made an afghan for myself from the thinner 4-ply yarns. I mixed the colors randomly and just made a simple rectangle. That will be done by the end of March. I love the extra room in my closets now.
How perfect! Thank you for doing that for those precious fur babies!
I need to do this. I tend to stop myself and I get worked up instead of relaxing, because my projects in mind are not easy, and have learning curves. If it comes to it, I will just crochet simple repetitive blankets and scarves to gain some space. It was a goal to achieve making and learning new stitches and patterns per year. Yarn takes up a lot of space. So does paper crafting…
My pot of gold is definitely full of the privilege of getting to live with my 81 year old mother (aka my best friend!), our lovely, cozy home, and sharing our lifelong memories with each other. It brings me so much joy to see her happy!! That's really all I need. 🤗
What an absolute joyful comment! Thank you!
That's so sweet.💕
You and your mom are very blessed!
@@saraojala6283 Thank you so much. 🤗
@@patricedixon2634We really are! Thank you!
My "Pot of Gold" is all the proven promises of God that He has been giving me in the middle of tough, discouraging times. God's grace and promises have made impossible days possible and even abundant enough to overflow to bless others. All the gold coins in the world couldn't do what He has done for me.
Thank you for the frugal videos. They have been such an encouragement to adjust my attitudes towards spending/saving/planning. Blessings to you both from WNY!
Love that!💗
What a beautiful comment! Thanks so much for taking the time to share!
I've been looking for a different way to cook pork tenderloin. That looked REALLY good! I think sometimes, especially when we were younger, competition was such a big part of our lives (whether we realized it or not) that we weren't capable of filling our pot of gold with truly valuable things. We wake up one day and realize it's overcrowded with other people's ideas and wants. It's so liberating to fill our pot with what is truly our own heart's desire. Having saved enough money to finally retire, I am SO looking forward to jumping into the middle of my pot of gold :) Just a few more months to go. Thank you for the time and effort you put into all of your videos. The are golden.
Wonderful comment! So well said, Sherri!
Thank you for letting us know that Paul's parents are doing okay. Your interview with them a couple of years ago still resonates with me and I found them delightful. My pot of gold -- my faith, my family, my friends and my health. These are what I value most.
Yes, thank you Alice! They are doing well!
Excellent video as usual. Health and having good healthy food to eat is #1. Next month I will be 79 with no health issues. My eyesight is better now than when I was 12. My kids all need readers but not me. I can still read the fine print on bottles. My hair is only slightly salt and pepper gray. Maybe the fact that I never dyed my hair has something to do with it. I have been a widow for 14 years and still maintain by myself a 4 bedroom home on 1 acre with large gardens. I love to travel with family and friends, but I can still drive 10 hours by myself and have no problem getting around airports. My mind is still sharp as attested to by people who know me and I love to learn new things. I am never depressed. Those are all the things in my pot of gold and I praise God for all of them.
Pork and kraut has always been my favorite meal. I make it in a crock pot like a German friend showed me. It is simply kraut with some onions, country pork ribs, some brown sugar and caraway seeds and sometimes an apple. This is served with mashed potatoes. I make my own kraut from cabbage that I grow and it is super easy to do. All you need is a fermenting lid to put on a 1/2 gal. mason jar, the shredded cabbage, and salt. I like mine mild. The longer you leave it ferment the more sour it becomes.
I am always amazed meeting people like u! I have an auntie who will be 89 next month that’s very active and sharp too but doesn’t drive or garden. It’s still amazing to me ! Blessings to you!
What an inspiring and motivating comment, Olderandwiser! Thanks so much for sharing! You are so blessed!
I went through my cards and dividend them up and wrapped them up and gifted my friends with them. They were so tickled with them and wouldn’t have to run out for a card. Family,Faith and health in my pot!
Yes, so perfect!
The things I'd want to put in my pot of gold are:
1. Memories spent with my wonderful parents & my oldest brother who passed away from cancer.
2. Good health
3. Spending time with the squirrels that live in the trees in my backyard. I never thought I'd love them as much as I do.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, Emmy & Paul!☘️☘️
Happy St. Patrick's Day, Susan! Wonderful share!
Thank you Emmy, I like your pot of gold. Health, family, and travel would fill mine. Here are some video ideas:
1) "What can you do in 10 minutes?" (list out and show a number of small projects that could be done to improve your home and health in 10 minutes). Ten minutes of daily weeding adds up. If you have a garden with flowers, cut yourself a small posey or cut one and deliver to a friend. Put your closet in order by color. Clear out the car when you arrive home. Vacuum the car or one room.
2) "Five or less, don't leave a mess" - you may have heard that if a task takes five minutes or less, don't write it down. Just take care of it then. Put the groceries away as soon as you get home. Fold laundry for five minutes then put it away. Over time you'll chip away at the pile. Take out the trash. Start a load of laundry. Make a call for an appointment. Call a friend to say hello and Happy Spring. Send someone a thinking-of-you card. Putting away the clean dishes. Clear and clean one shelf in the refrigerator or a closet. Sky is the limit on ideas.
3) "Go on a safari". Every day you pick a different color, item, and a shape. An example might be yellow, golden retriever, and triangle. Then you take a walk with your phone and "hunt" for those things. Take photos to document your "catch". It shifts your focus and makes you more observant on your walk. Hope these are helpful! Courtney in Virginia
Courtney, thanks for taking the time to share your ideas!
I would fill it with health for those I love. Happiness and success for my grandchildren. And love for those who feel unloved ❤
So wonderful, Melody!
Emmy, I have a card stash as well. It has saved me so much money over the years. I think sending cards is a real encouragement to people. I had an empty desk drawer that I use for my card file. I used cardboard from cereal boxes to make dividers and file my cards by categories- anniversaries, birthdays etc. It makes it so easy to find a card I need. Thanks for another great video 😊
Wonderful and creative idea!
The meal looks delicious! My pot of gold is my relationship with Jesus Christ, my family and good health. Priceless, you can't buy any of those. 🙂
Sounds about perfect, Tracey!
Hi Paul and Emmy, My "Pot of Gold" consists of continuing to make happy memories with my family, always being grateful for the ability to
practice my faith and thankfulness for all of the great medical professionals who have been contributing to my good health. As for Greeting
Cards, I purchased a plastic file-folder at the Dollar Store and designated each of the compartments (alphabetically) with: Anniversary, Birthday,
Get Well, Sympathy...etc. It seems that we donate to some of the same organizations and charities. I also donated the "Chill Out" card.
Blessings to you and yours, always.
LOL! Yes, that card just wasn't us!
My pot of gold would have time with family and friends, crocheting for those in need, and thankfulness to God for meeting my needs.
So wonderful!
One of my first organizational projects that I tackled when I first retired was my mom’s card stash. Although her stash filled a huge box, she could never find an appropriate card or an envelope to mail it. Reduced it to a small box with cardboard dividers by category. Selecting a card takes less time since there are no inappropriate cards and all the envelopes are there. It was well worth the few hours I spent. Saves money too.
I need to organize my cards. I have many categories of cards & need to sort by category so they're easy to find. Lorraine
Yes, so true Peggy!
This touched my heart. I miss my parents so very much. In my pot of gold… love, more time especially with those I have lost and more memories. 💕
So very true, Susan!
Seeing Dixie play and knowing Paul’s parents enjoy her is heartwarming…..I do keep them on my prayer list….glad they’re doing well…..the meal looks delicious. Praying for all my family, friends and others is at the top of my pot of gold….helping out when I can is second…..thanks for sharing your life with us…..
Carolyn, Yes Dix is a little ray of sunshine for sure...thanks for keeping them in prayer!
I enjoyed this video immensely! I was so very blessed from beginning to end. I too feel blessed when I can do something for someone else. I said a prayer for you, Paul and his parents after watching today ❤
Oh thank you! We are so blessed you prayed for us!
It filled my heart with joy to see you preparing that feast for your in-laws and how happy everyone was, including Dixie. Sharing with others is double the joy. Decluttering is always good and a great idea to donate the cards. In my pot of gold I hope to find on top health and happiness for my family, friends and me, peace, love, contentment. These are the real golden things!
Absolutely right!
Wonderful to see you blessing family and making a donation of cards! I love to bless family & donate, too. 🙂
It really is wonderful to share with others!
My pot of gold is filled with faith, more time with my children, and peace of mind that we are debt free and living comfortable. I also love to spend time in my kitchen cooking and baking, reading books, and just spending quiet time with God and a cup of tea. These are the things that bring me joy.
Vicki, sounds very much like me!
Good afternoon everyone!
Good Morning, Martina!
I like what do you want to accomplish before you pass? Since I am 81, i think of this often.
I have no control over, but would like one grandchild.
My son and DIL hv been trying but the odds are against them. I have reconciled that I may never see a grandchild.
The other thing was to finish all my quilting projects. This may never happen.
My pot of gold would be to continue to live in my senior housing. It was just taken over by a new corporation and no one knows what the future will hold.
I guess the above kind of sums up pot of gold wishes along with good health to all family and friends. If you dont have good health, money doesnt mean a whole lot. My friend always says maybe if we had money we could hire a cleaning lady. I always say yes and maybe someone to drive us around. Lol😊 I am happy i can entertain myself and am not depressed since i am now alone.
What a wonderful attitude you have! Thanks for taking the time to share!
My pot of Gold would be knowing Jesus and then my family and having common sense.
It was fun seeing Dixie greeting Paul's parents at the door!
Could you share your squash bread recipe in a future video?
I always look forward to seeing your videos every week!❤
Yes! Thanks for watching and sharing, Renee!
Family, friends, and my health are my top 3 things. Great video. The meal for Paul’s mom & dad looked scrumptious. I bet they loved that. Such a treat to have you bring meals to them.
Yes, I am really trying to cook for them even more than I do now. They really enjoy it!
I made homemade kraut and kimchi from a free event in our area not only did we have time away from our home.20 min away we learned how to make homemade kraut and kimchi.
Oh how wonderful!
My friends and family, my goofy kitties and my renew health and stamina make it all worthwhile!🍀🌈😻
Oh, how wonderful!
What a precious thought, your pot of gold, for this time of year. My three are faith, family & health. Thank you for the wonderful dinner inspiration. As a southern transplant from the Pocono Mts of PA I miss all those German/Pennsylvania Dutch recipes w/sauerkraut and pork. Definitely going to try & make this in my crock pot. I was as ever blessed by the footage of your beautiful Dixie. I know she is such a source of joy for your sweet family. Until the next…please be well.
❤~Sarah
Sarah, thank you for your kind comment!

Such a good video Emmy and Paul 😊.
My pot of gold would be filled with more prayer time for others and my relationship with God, more time to create happy memories with family&friends, more time to help those in need, more time to keep on top of all the house work. I've listed 4 things, because I couldn't decide on just 3.
Your pot of gold sounds wonderful.
I'm looking forward to the next video. May God greatly bless you both as well. ❤
Love that! You are such a sweet lady!
Family, friends and kindness.
Love that!
Your pork loin dinner looked amazing, Emmy! I like to put apple in with my sauerkraut. I have a pork loin in the freezer I'll be making in my crockpot soon. Hi to Paul & sweet Dixie!

What a beautiful and uplifting video Emmy and Paul your wonderful people your dinner for Paul's mom looked delish great recipe will check it out love a crock pot please emmy show us yellow squash bread I would love to see how to make it🎉
Yes, I will share in an upcoming video!
Dear Emmy,
I love the analogy of the pot of gold. My top three things to put in there are quality time with my husband and family, health, and quiet time to rest, reflect and craft. It's funny that you talk about decluttering ten minutes at a time. That is exactly what I have started doing every day, but for 30 minutes while I listen to a podcast. I pick one area to declutter that I know will take me only that time or less, one drawer, one cabinet. It's amazing how motivating it is to see progress in small and easy chunks of time.
Yes, that is what we are finding too. Slow and steady!
Choices, paying down debt and not having to be slaves personally like myself to jobs we hate first and foremost! Because once you get that and achieve that family can 100% be in the absolute forefront of your life, and all the joys and things you want from that are in your hands, not in your employers
Thanks for sharing!
My pot of gold would be full of family and friends and all of the memories we've made. Next would good health for all so we could continue with the good memories. Lastly a world full of compassion and peace.❤
Wouldn't that be wonderful!!
Gratitude for every day and my Faith My Health.Family and friends .Nature.Many more could go in the pot of gold

I just made sauerkraut and pork in the crockpot yesterday for dinner with friends. The pork was so tender it fell apart. Everyone enjoyed and had seconds!
Sounds delicious!
Could you please share your squash bread recipe sometime? My top three things in my pot of gold are all of my family, my faith, and my peace of mind.
Oh yes, I need to make another loaf so I will!

Oh I will look it up! Thanks!
I really like your flowers on your flower tablecloth. Very nice combination.
Thanks so much! My little $5 bouquet lol!
I never thought to donate my surplus cards! I have a similar stash to yours. Great idea, thank you. Recently retired am still trying to figure out how I want my life to look like at this stage of the journey. Your ideas and questions help me discern what's important now and what is leftover from career life and stresses. 🤗
Yes, it's an ever evolving process! We are still discerning lol!
Hey Emmy and Paul, my pot of gold would be filled with quality time with my partner & cats & cousin & health and happiness for us all 🤗

What a fantastic video!! My pot of gold has my family and home. ♥️🏡 I agree about the blessing others. I have two boneless pork loins we got on sale in our freezer. I will definitely be trying your recipe!!! Looks delicious!!! Dixie brings joy to everyone 💗🐾
Tammy, thank you! Dixie really is a little ray of sunshine!
my pot of Gold would be time to be spent with our loved ones that passed away. I’d love another day with my mom who has been gone 20 years, and tonight I really need her hug as I’m going through some scary medical stuff. I’d love time to spend with my godfather who died in his 40s and tell him how much he really meant to me, and how he greatly influenced my life in a positive way. The Things I never got to say or even thought of, while I was in my late 20s. Time with my baby cousin who passed young at 21, time with my grandparents to ask all the questions that as adults we wish we would have asked them when they were still here. A day with my grandmother who passed when I was 10 just to know her more as she was Always giving to others and never caring for herself. Lastly if I was blessed with this gift of time I would give my best friends endless time with her brother that passed when he was 42 in a tragic accident.
Oh I am so sorry you are going through a scary time! Please know we will pray.
Hello my friend Emmy and Paul hello everyone miss you All
Thanks so much for being here, SweetMama!
I love this idea, and I say that as a true descendant of Fitzgeralds. Fillers? My faith, fun, and family. Friends. Fulfilling work. Frugality. Financial freedom.☘️
Perfect! Thank you!
My pot of gold would have Health (because I lack it), peace (because it has been disrupted), and being self sufficient (which has been taken away). There is more, but those affect me round the clock. I would just love it, if I could be my old self again.
I love this recipe! I have a pork loin and made one stuffed in the oven, but I would like to try it like this (maybe still stuff it so it goes a longer way as its small). Anything to increase volume of the tiny loin I have. Of course it would need to be secured with twine to hold it together. $3.89 for 2 loins Emmy is mind blowing. It’s $9 for one tiny one here. On sale $7 is considered good.
What a great bulk meal to bring. I have an uncle I do this for. But less now because of shopping restrictions (food prices being so high). I would bring cabbage rolls, breaded chicken but it’s all alot of work and preparation. I love to do it when I can and feel well. ❤I need to consider more crock pot meals.
So very sorry Jane, you are not feeling well! You are such an inspiration!
@@FrugalMoneySaver so kind of you Emmy❤ I can’t wait for today’s video! I love you guys! best part of my week is Tuesdays and Fridays!

Hi Emmy and Paul! That pork roast looked delicious. Definitely going to try!
My pot of gold would include crocheting and giving the blankets to others as a surprise and donations, cooking for my husband who works two jobs and so hard, and keeping in touch with distant family and friends by writing and sending letters and cards. We just sent my sister and mom St Pat’s Day cards decorated with stickers for thst occasion. Everyone loves cards and it is definitely a lost art.
Have a great week!💕😊🙏🏻

The most important thing to me is that our children always love the Lord our God with all their heart, soul and mind. Salvation for those who do not know Him especially our loved ones and that my health would be restored. A bonus would be to be debt free and start saving for our future.
All wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the idea to seperate cards

I have a box of cards like that. I store them vertically and divided by category with handmade dividers using cardboard from my recycling. I did the same thing with a box of jumbled stickers and it has made the world of difference in finding the stickers I know I have.

Another lovely video!
When you were talking about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, I looked at it a little differently. I looked at it as being a windfall or a grace, ie something I don’t already have in my life. I have a roof over my head, family and friends who care about me, enough money for me. So what is the one thing I’d like to be graced with in the pot of gold? Two new knees!! 😂 My arthritis limits me and I just hate that. I love to get out and do things but I always have to determine if my knees will let me.
Love your perspective! I also have a bad knee from an injury and arthritis. What helps me a lot is a small wireless button type tens unit, knee compression sleeves . I also take Turmeric joint, Omega 3 , glucosamine and voltaren gel. It limits me so much too, I hope u find relief.💗
I can understand that!! Thanks for sharing!
