I lived in California most of my life. Used to watch the sunset frequently around the beaches of L.A. It was super nice for sure.. BUT... you havent lived until you wake up on a beach in FL or GA and watch the sun come up out of the ocean. The awesome colors and dimensions to the clouds are a life changing event. You'll want to see it every single day from then on. Its never the same view twice. BTW, that breakfast scramble you made looked very tasty indeed!
What an inspiration you guys are!!! Sometimes I feel the job I have (which I totally love) consumes me so much that I dont have enough time for adventure and staying outdoors, but seeing you guys creating content like this refreshes me! Massive respect guys!!!
Just want to thank you and Victoria for inspiring my family and I to take our very first camping trip in the woods in Pennsylvania!!! My youngest son is a huge nature baby and has been begging me to camp for years and I was so afraid of doing it out of fear of never doing right ... Weird mom fears BUT we went camping for three days, tent, cooking over the campfire and nothing but observing nature because THANK GOD NO CELL PHONE SERVICE! The best and most beautiful experience as a family yet... So much that we are planning on camping again next week for a longer time and more frequently... My son and I truly look forward to seeing you and Victoria go on your adventures! Please keep these beautiful videos coming... It's really inspiring.... Sending you guys much love from New York City!!!!
Rita this is amazing!!! Thank you so much. Ahh you don't know how good this makes us feel. We just want people to know and experience nature the same way we do. It's so beautiful out there and never ceases to amaze me that it just IS like that and it would be like that even if humans weren't here. There's nothing better than getting out and escaping the routine of every day life. Wishing you all the best in your outdoor ventures. Let me know if you have any video ideas you'd like to see 😊😊
Cody Blue Awesome! Love how Victoria is getting involved and showing off the delicious camp cuisine! You guys should definitely lean into that in future vids as well as a variety of outdoor activities across multi-night camps (biking, hiking, kayaking, etc.). As a content creator I’d also love to see a few mins dedicated to the gear you bring on these trips based on use case-both for filming and for the outdoor needs. Keep em comin!! 👏🏽
Back in the early 70's we would head up from So. Cal at night and wake up there on the shore of Grant Lake. We used to call it "Truck Packing" back then. Would head in to June Lake for breakfast at Schat's bakery. Those were some of the best times of my life. Thanks for the reminder.
Heck yeah guys welcome to the off-road/Overlanding community. I’ve been following your Sony video content and now I can’t wait to see your Overlanding adventures.
Hell yeah! Truck camping vids are sick! Also loved that you guys took a stop at Convict Lake while you were out there! There’s a nice little hike that goes around the back of the lake as well.
Thank you for taking us with you on your journeys! With a lot of us still being stuck inside it’s nice to see some beautiful outside even through the screen. The hot springs look so beautiful!!!!
You guys remind me.so much if my wife and I! We're loving your truck camping videos. It's getting us keen as to get back out there once our insane cv19 restrictions are over.
Absolutely love this style of video. Much prefer these outdoor adventures to camera/gear review videos, but that’s just my personal taste. Hope to see more of these 👍
So stoked on this comment. I think we're fully committed to outdoor lifestyle content at this point. Maybe with some camera stuff sprinkled in here and there.
STUNNING, my dude! Holy WOW. The colors, the music, the angles, the depth of field -- EVERYTHING was so well crafted. Hats of to you. I know how long an edit like this can take, so really appreciate the time and effort you two put into these.
I have been into hiking videos because of Kraig Adams, and I am so glad I found you two! I love the positive vibes and love coming out from both of you. I just wish Cody would learn to cook for Victoria as well, it’s a pet peeve of mine seeing the ladies do all the cooking 🧑🍳
Just bought my first truck too! It’s the Frontier SV 4X4 really looking forward to taking it out to camp! Just went down to Zions, Utah and took it a little off road. Stoked to see the rest of the build on the truck, I’ll be taking notes 👏
Planning on doing a full walkthrough soonish. Wanted to do the full slide out kitchen but it might have to wait till next summer cause I just wanna be out there and not building 😂😂
My wife and I were just at that same exact hot spring less than two weeks ago in our campervan! We stopped there on our way to Tahoe where we thought we had a good chance of seeing you two... who knew we must’ve barely missed you guys at the springs. You’ve had a huge impact on my photography and I love watching your videos! 🍻
Wow I feel you. The biggest weight weight we always carry is food! At least 50% of the entire backpack... The rest is 40% tent, mat, sleeping bag and 10% left for everything else. Camping in the mountains on La Gomera (canary rainforest island) we had planned to take the bus as far as possible and then walk for an hour until the camping spot in the mountains - but it turned out we were so darn lucky to end up choosing a frickin' taxicab to bring us as much closer to the camping spot than the bus would have taken us -- with two backpack rain covers repurposed as food transporters in the trunk. Since it was cold and very, very foggy and rainy, we had to eat even more, and there was no way to take the slippery 300 vertical meters to the next supermarket in the valley. O_o Felt like sh*t opting for the taxi initially, but I don't even want to imagine what would have happened otherwise. Probably we'd have had to return early.
Awesome! Stoked for ya'll. My wife and I have been enjoying our RTT on the Montero in North Carolina, and currently Hawaii (Oahu) but in Feb we are moving to Colorado and I am looking to replace the Montero with a new truck/vehicle. Love just traveling out into the wilderness and camping "glamping" making food, enjoying silence and away from the hustle and bustle.
It's great isn't it? You've just been bit by the Overlanding bug.. Just like any other adventure genre, there's plenty of gear to swap out and upgrade after each trip. Looking forward to seeing more of these adventures! yewwwwwwwww
Welcome to the cool people club. I love my roof top tent. It changes the game. Love to drive way out in the mountains and find a good spot to camp. To lazy to hike hahaha. Fun video.
Amazing channel, congratulations and thanks for sharing, Cody and Victoria! Nice touch to give a gentle movement to the camera in the tripod ;) Makes everything more natural and flowy.
I love it! I've been working on a modular bed in my Wrangler to start Overlanding as well. You are very lucky to find a partner that has the same passion for outdoor adventures. Keep the amazing videos coming and share your experiences. I can't wait to drive to Mammoth to enjoy the springs as well.
Thanks for watching. I'm so fortunate that Victoria is on board with all of the outdoor adventure stuff. Guess I'll have to marry her 😉 enjoy it out there 🤙🏼
I love your video and adventures, thanks so much for sharing. The more primitive adventures are more spectacular, but I'm a soon to be retired Electrical Engineer, soon to be moving further north into beautiful, wintery Michigan, soon to be morphing into landscape photograph and adventuring. At my age the truck and rooftop idea is of great interest to me, looking forward to what you two have to share coming up. Thanks again!
Highly recommend the truck and roof top tent. There's some amazing companies making really cool (and comfortable!) Products out there. Hoping you find the opportunity to get out there!
Absolutely loving the backpacking and adventure videos! You guys are awesome 🤙🏼a bunch of our trips got canceled this year so we're sticking to local adventuring and making the best of it!
Awesome, man! You are doing all the cool stuff I love. Came here for the video tips, sticking around for the outdoor stuff. Let me know if you guys want to get into fly fishing.
@@codyandvictoria Yeah I hear you. Been working on my fly fishing channel lately, but just started working on another channel for other stuff. Fly fishing goes great with overlanding, backpacking and climbing.
Great Job! I started overlanding & Camping last year! Enjoy the journey's and great job on the video. You are showing me I have a lot of work to do. Keep pressing on!
I have the same truck-2017 year for the past 2 years and I love it. Just make sure you install the rear axle breather from Alldogs company. Very cheap way to prevent the expensive repair when the stock breather fails. You could get same replacement which i did or get the hose extension one and place it behind the rear tailight in case you will be going through a deep mud or water. Otherwise it is a solid reliable truck with not that great gas mileage, but none of them are great. Cheers
Cody, could you all do a video about how you all afford to travel and hike all the time? I work a 9-5, and I would be interested in hearing how you make the “adventure lifestyle” possible!😌
You wifed the right one if she cooks like that out in the middle of nowhere. My wife just finally cut chicken up after I cooked it for the first time after 1 year of marriage. Love watching your adventures and thanks for inspiring some of us to get the hell out of the house and just go somewhere!
