ed3432 - Agree - worked in criminal justice system for 39 yrs + respect and fairness along with consistency work best! Those that have attitude or are wannabe tough guys end up getting hurt! When I was teaching young offenders, there was an ugly spirited guard that was pushing his weight around and always calling the kids losers and garbage -ended up having to get serious dental surgery! A young kid 14 yrs old lost it and was tired of being bullied by this guard - took a sock lock to his face! This young man only got 6 extra months bc he was a young offender! Those guards who were courteous but firm did well!
Here a story for both of you . I was doing time in ad seg, and the CO had brought back inmate to his Cell. Well ,the CO had forget his keys ,on the cell door . Willa (kites) got shot to all the homeboys ,to inform all of us what is going on. That day the Capt decided to walk through ad seg. Now mine you the keys are still there. What the homeboy did. He covered up the keys with his jump suit . The CO ,that had left keys was walking kind of behind the Capt . My buddy called over the CO and told him it was important. He walk over and my buddy with eyes look at him and lifted up the jump suit .The CO eyes were big like a kid on Christmas . The reason why he got those keys back ,because he treated us with respect . Respect ,goes a long ways .
There's also the guard that at first was everyone's friend, compassionate and lenient that ends up getting thrown down some stairs because of his "weakness." After that he's left with a permanent limp and a serious hate for all prisoners. So the story goes.

I was in Centinela B yard when they started integrating the minimum yard. I was supposed to head over there but got stuck on the 3 yard right there due to an old case. I couldn't have been happier about it. That minimum yard was going down single every day. Love and respect from me and mine to you and yours, stay up Badger.

Good segment Big Homie, I've often times ended up on the up on the other side of this type of discussion because although I was state raised myself I always understood that I did all that to myself, When I finally started getting right, Taking care of business... It was LEO, CPS & a multitude of other agencies otherwise despised by men like myself that helped me to get to where I needed to go, they wrote letters for me and assisted in every way possible for me to obtain custody of my children, permanent custody legal & physical, there are certainly bad Leo's out there and thankfully due to the camera they are being exposed more and more but definitely show respect where respect is due prop Big Homie I love your show

I enjoyed the lockdown series on MSNBC, thought that series was intense and was glad those guys are locked up. BUT coming across Big Herc’s channel and heard him and yourself tell your life stories and I my opinion changed about the people in that show. You showed that in that environment you have to be correct at all times but you also showed what you learned doing your time. That the LIFE is bullshit and there was a quote from another video that really made me respect you “now that I’m enjoying life it’s half gone” Even with the knowledge that you’ve allowed your youth to be taken from you it stop you from helping out others. Warning the youth about why they don’t want to commit to this lifestyle and that being a square is the best way to live. From a square to an OG, thanks for being a good human and I hope the remaining years on the outside are the greatest years of your life. 👊🏾

Bertil Faux happens lots (I’m from Canada) but when I was in the pen there was lots of miscarriages of Justice one the guy was convicted of killing his mom and it didn’t happen could u imagine that one?

I was a C.O for three years @ Plainfield IYC. I left because other COs liked to pull inmates aside and rough them up. Iv got some stories let me tell you.
Same experience here. C.O. for 9yrs in FL. and I left because of staff, not the inmates. I was by the book and consistent and respectful with the inmates and generally spent more time with them than I did with other C.O.'s. It's too easy to get caught up in what other staff does, even if you don't take part in those things, you either have to narc on your fellow officers, not say anything and get fired for failure to report or take part and eventually catch a charge for whatever dirty shit they're into.
