I adopted a 10-year-old stray cat and started delivering donated food and clothing to the homeless on my bicycle this year. Here's to a slimmer 2023 so I can carry more supplies! 😝
2023 will hopefully be an amazing year for me. I retired in July 2021 and have spent most of the last year in Spain, where I have a little house. However, in early 2022 I finally got to pass my driving test, at the age of 59, and bought a Kangoo which I have turned into a micro camper. I spent 3 months this summer driving around the UK in her and having the best time ever. I am spending the first part of 2023 visiting New York, Cyprus and then Tokyo, then back to Spain for a few months. I will spend the summer in my van in the UK then drive her back here on an epic trip via France, visiting some amazing places in Northern Spain. Thanks to you both for inspiration, entertainment and beautiful places. Hope everything is truly wonderful for you in 2023 xxx
2022 ended up being the best year I've had in 6 years! After several damaging relationships I had given up on the idea of having someone by my side as my life starts to wind down, but, three months ago I met the man of my dreams, my knight in shining armour. We share a passion for travel and are currently doing up his Hilux so we can hit the road and see Australia. Can't wait to see what 2023 brings for us all
I retired in 2022; we spent 2 months in Southern Spain, then returned to the UK for the summer, where we bought a motorhome. We travelled to Devon, Dorset, The Malvern Hills, The Yorkshire Dales, Liverpool, Chester and most of Wales, before returning home in September for three weeks. We spent the autumn travelling down to Croatia and back, arriving home again at the end of October. I can’t wait for March, when we’ll be taking our motorhome to Spain and Portugal for a couple of months. We’ll spend the summer back in the UK and we loved Croatia so much that we’ll be heading that way again in September 2023. Maybe we’ll bump into you somewhere! Beans Out!

I happened to discover your channel just 2 days ago and have watched about 7 episodes. Today is my REAL first day of retirement! I'm unsure of what I will do. I have been enjoying Itchy Boots and her travel adventures on cycle and now yours. I love your happiness and honesty that you express. Thank you for sharing and congratulations on the Little Bean. It will change your life as it did mine (have three). I now have 7 grandchildren all under age 8 years of age. I reside in USA, have a van, have a motorcycle, love nature and wildlife. My wife is a animal freak with 30 goats, 20 chickens, a mini-horse, a duck, and 7 cats. She is retiring in July, but those animals will keep her bounded.
Your camper van is SO much nicer than the one you 2 weathered through in Japan. Yours has heat apparently otherwise you would be freezing in negative degree weather. They call showers there in France douches????? That's a very thorough cleaning.....my goodness! Thank you for the lovely tour. I can live vicariously through your travels. Switzerland is breathtakingly beautiful. Our plans for 2023.....my husband and I are very excited to join you on the road. He will retire this June and we plan on renting out our house and we just bought a Class A RV 2021....that he is remodeling and it will be ready for us to finally travel around the USA. We have been planning this for the past 5 years. So to say we are excited for this coming year is an understatement. So travel on Beans and thank you. Stay safe and warm.
We sold our home and moved to a villa where all services are provided so I can concentrate on fun things. Golf. Fishing. Family. Hiking. I have become very much a friend of yours, I cannot imagine what your baby after the baby grows up, can look back and watch when where all of the things that you carried your child . Before He or she came into the world . by looking back on your channel. and love you for giving that child life that is the most heart warming thing I know. What was 2022 like for me? My husband of 33 years walked out of me and very quickly blocked me totally from his life and cut me off of everything. I always wanted to travel in a camper and I am hoping that maybe I can buy some thing affordable and make my dream reality. Thank you two for bringing laughter and adventure to us all!❤
Inspired by your vanlife videos during the pandemic I bought a Ford Transit cargo van, converted it into a self sufficient off grid camper over the course of 8 months, shipped it from Florida to Europe, and drove from the top of Scotland (NC500) to the south coast of Turkey. After 6 months I shipped it back to the US for the winter. Next, I hope to see you on the road sometime either in the US or Europe.

I needed your drops of happiness as For me, 2022 was total and utter crap until just before Christmas. In January 2022, My Army Veteran husband and I made a somewhat rash decision to get our very battered and shattered knees replaced. I went first and had just my right knee done as apparently I am the world’s worst driver and flipped my SUV seven times after dodging Australia’s biggest kangaroo. Long, long, boring medical nightmare, but I did get to ride (in a coma) in the SouthCare Rescue helicopter 🚁 My tough guy husband, who served this country almost 3 decades, let me push him into getting both knees done at once. I knew that after one Knee replacement he would never return to any doctor or hospital again! What an utterly dumb idea that all was. We are still hobbling around in terrible pain (he is) like senior citizens a year later. Who was going to look after who???? Anyway to make up for another of my monumental life clangers, we had the most wonderful delivery for Christmas Eve, another granddaughter, who looks so much like her daddy (our youngest son) that I simply cried tears of joy. I’m really hoping my husband starts to recover a bit more, as I have to have more spinal surgery and I need him!! Again, looking forward to 2023 for all of us. I love that you drive who thinks women can't drive give me a break my husband and I drive a 2018 Chevy Silverado and we tow a 2022 transcend grand design pull behind trailer we take turns driving all the time and whenever I pull up to the gas station and people see me pulling it I get a lot of stairs as if it should be my husband in the driver see you drives me CRAZY.
I bought a 15 passenger van and my fiancee almost never drives it. Not because he doesn't want to, but because it's MINE! I'm putting all the work into the beautiful van it is now and will be when it is finished. He has barely lifted a finger in comparison. So I get to drive it. He drives it when I'm tired, and that's it.

Hi Beans, Useful tip in the snow ,always remove snow from windscreen before you turn wipers on. Snow is heavy and you can pop your wiper arm from the motor ,real pain to put back on talking from experience 😂

As always you video’s are fun. Seeing you both in those festive sweaters are so sweet. Your son will be such an upbeat child with so many exciting experiences. Oh, my weakness Em with the bakery. You both enjoy this time because soon another “bean” will be arriving. The drive through that little town brings memories of three times I was in Germany. First as a child when Dad was in the US Army and stationed there. Next two times when I was now active duty Army. In fact my last year of the military of 20 years ended there. I had two sons born there. One in Frankfurt and the youngest in Stuttgart. Miss those country sides and little bakery’s.

Started watching your vids this month. I’m not a big campervaner, but when me and one of my best mates did it in New Zealand, I had the most amazing time. You guys are so pure and I’m so happy that your expecting your little bean! I’m sure your worried about future content with the little bean, but whatever you do will be amazing!!
Nice! I went to Switzerland on a Youth Hostelling trip in my twenties. It was a brilliant experience. I'd love to go back but my two autistic kids are averse to travelling anywhere. I loved Geneva and it's lake. I was lucky enough to see it in May when the sun was shining and the lake was glorious. They run a paddle steamer that stops at all the towns on the lake shore, including Evian. I used the paddle steamer to get to my next destination, which was Lausanne. A quaint little village with buildings similar to that little French village you stopped at. I also went to Bern. I must admit I was not impressed. Your video made it look decent, but when I went it was dirty and littered with needles. It was very disconcerting to have to walk past all the junkies on my way to the Youth Hostel. Interlaken was much much better though and was absolutely stunning. I did a lot of walking and adventure sports stuff while I was there. I also visiting the glacier melt waterfalls that are in the caves near Lauterbrunen (?). They were well worth a visit and in May were in full spate with the Spring thaw.

You think it's cold there you should be glad you left the US for this past week. Areas of the West/Midwest had a windchills of -50F. We live in the deep south in Alabama and it's not been above freezing for a week. It was at freezing (30s F) in parts of southern Florida. It's been quite chilly all over the US!
As amazing as Emma is and Alex actually has 'lucked out', all those jokes are why I love Alex more! Many LOL'ing in the video. Well done on the year guys.

2022 - We finally started traveling in our own camper! Took a while to convince the husband it'd be fun but we've now driven from one end of New Zealand to the other and many places in between. Watching you guys has started the dream of buying a camper in the UK and nomadding across Europe when our girls are older and doing their own thing. Can't wait until your travel with baby bean - we just carried on traveling when our girls were born, took them overseas at 4 and 5 months and still haven't stopped. They had been around the world by the time they were 8 and 10. I think because you guys are so well travelled and so chilled it will make it so much easier for baby to slot right in. Our first baby was a dream, second a nightmare (said most lovingly of course) but we still travelled and coped.
You Guys are so happy and full of life your little one is going to have a real life of adventure! It's wonderful to see you guys thank you for sharing your videos with us.
We have a 5th wheel and we traveled for 5 months this past winter from Georgia, US to Arizona, back to Florida . Of course it was the coldest winter in 20 years in the desert southwest but we still saw awesome scenery, spent time with family and met new people. I am behind on the Beans because our internet has been spotty. So I am busy trying to catch up.
No lie, I'm lying in bed stuffing my face with lemon cake watching you two just having a ball and I'm literally laughing out loud.... I love that you drive who thinks women can't drive give me a break my husband and I drive a 2018 Chevy Silverado and we tow a 2022 transcend grand design pull behind trailer we take turns driving all the time and whenever I pull up to the gas station and people see me pulling it I get a lot of stairs as if it should be my husband in the driver see you drives me CRAZY.
I bought a 15 passenger van and my fiancee almost never drives it. Not because he doesn't want to, but because it's MINE! I'm putting all the work into the beautiful van it is now and will be when it is finished. He has barely lifted a finger in comparison. So I get to drive it. He drives it when I'm tired, and that's it.

Useful tip in the snow ,always remove snow from windscreen before you turn wipers on. Snow is heavy and you can pop your wiper arm from the motor ,real pain to put back on talking from experience 😂
Great video guys, and 2023 for me means retirement! And me and my wife will be traveling for about 3 years all over the US and then abroad, and we too are going to film it and post it for friends and family. Can't wait. Thanks for all the inspiration.

As always you video’s are fun. Seeing you both in those festive sweaters are so sweet. Your son will be such an upbeat child with so many exciting experiences. Oh, my weakness Em with the bakery. You both enjoy this time because soon another “bean” will be arriving. The drive through that little town brings memories of three times I was in Germany. First as a child when Dad was in the US Army and stationed there. Next two times when I was now active duty Army. In fact my last year of the military of 20 years ended there. I had two sons born there. One in Frankfurt and the youngest in Stuttgart. Miss those country sides and little bakery’s.

Started watching your vids this month. I’m not a big campervaner, but when me and one of my best mates did it in New Zealand, I had the most amazing time.

Nice! I went to Switzerland on a Youth Hostelling trip in my twenties. It was a brilliant experience. I'd love to go back but my two autistic kids are averse to travelling anywhere. I loved Geneva and it's lake. I was lucky enough to see it in May when the sun was shining and the lake was glorious. They run a paddle steamer that stops at all the towns on the lake shore, including Evian. I used the paddle steamer to get to my next destination, which was Lausanne. A quaint little village with buildings similar to that little French village you stopped at. I also went to Bern. I must admit I was not impressed. Your video made it look decent, but when I went it was dirty and littered with needles. It was very disconcerting to have to walk past all the junkies on my way to the Youth Hostel. Interlaken was much much better though and was absolutely stunning. I did a lot of walking and adventure sports stuff while I was there. I also visiting the glacier melt waterfalls that are in the caves near Lauterbrunen (?). They were well worth a visit and in May were in full spate with the Spring thaw.
Seems like the perfect time to visit the area! But the eating and drinking would be fun too!

You think it's cold there you should be glad you left the US for this past week. Areas of the West/Midwest had a windchills of -50F. We live in the deep south in Alabama and it's not been above freezing for a week. It was at freezing (30s F) in parts of southern Florida. It's been quite chilly all over the US!
As amazing as Emma is and Alex actually has 'lucked out', all those jokes are why I love Alex more! Many LOL'ing in the video. Well done on the year guys.

2022 - We finally started traveling in our own camper! Took a while to convince the husband it'd be fun but we've now driven from one end of New Zealand to the other and many places in between. Watching you guys has started the dream of buying a camper in the UK and nomadding across Europe when our girls are older and doing their own thing.
Can't wait until your travel with baby bean - we just carried on traveling when our girls were born, took them overseas at 4 and 5 months and still haven't stopped. They had been around the world by the time they were 8 and 10. I think because you guys are so well travelled and so chilled it will make it so much easier for baby to slot right in. Our first baby was a dream, second a nightmare (said most lovingly of course) but we still travelled and coped.
Im soon looking forward to the series called two travel beans and a baby lol you guys are going to be amazing parents

We have a 5th wheel and we traveled for 5 months this past winter from Georgia, US to Arizona, back to Florida . Of course it was the coldest winter in 20 years in the desert southwest but we still saw awesome scenery, spent time with family and met new people. I am behind on the Beans because our internet has been spotty. So I am busy trying to catch up.
No lie, I'm lying in bed stuffing my face with lemon cake watching you two just having a ball and I'm literally laughing out loud.... "... it's obviously not as good, 'cause well it's French..." hilarious :D
