because she's the only one that can....thats another skill the other girls even maddie cant/couldnt do..if you check out aldc practice vids you will see nia practicing lifts with all the girls and loving it ..because she is the only one that can ..she has been doing it for years even when she was younger..

Nia is the most athletic one and she does appear muscular compared to others, her dance moves are sharper and not as soft... So Abby uses that to her advantage by giving her tough and physically demanding roles, that other girls couldn't do. As for the character pieces, Nia is a really good actress, I think she has more performance value than most other girls on the team, because she couldn't purely rely on her technique when she was younger. And by Abby giving her all these characters to play (even if they are mean or a bully) Nia is improving her acting skills ;) the same goes for doing lifts, she will have a better range of lifting and partnering experiences compared to a dainty dancer like Brynn who only gets lifted, but never the other way around. I also think Nias feminine side was utilised in her trio this year where she could be as girly as she wanted.
Nia and Brynn are amazing as duet partners! The only thing was that this dance was mostly Nia lifting Brynn up while she does a flexible move. They deserve better choreo!!!!

I now understand why Nia (and her creative team) began posting dance numbers (choreographed and performed outside of the ALDC) on her TH-cam channel. clearly, that is the only way we will see even half of what this girl is capable of. I don't know if it's Abby or production, but someone is hell-bent on keeping Nia in a box. They are stifling her talent. They don't want her to excel at all. This dance was insulting to watch so I can only imagine how insulting it must have been to perform. This looked like something Nia could have/would have performed at age 8, and Brynn, well, every solo/duet/group number that she has performed since being on this show has been beneath her. She and Kalani are dumbing down as dancers to be apart of this team (on television), and I don't know if it's worth it anymore. Season 7 appears to do a better job of showcasing these young ladies as DANCERS, so I'm holding out for that. Especially since all of these season 6.5 numbers were filmed BEFORE Nia got her big break off Broadway and her movie. Maybe they will start treating her with more respect now that she is officially a professional dancer and breakout star (right behind Maddie and Chloe). They really should, considering she is the only commodity they have left. Nia is the ONLY reason I for one, still watch this show. This dance was a joke; and whoever thought it would be a good idea to give a number like this to an elite teen with over 11 years of formal training under her belt (Nia), and a new and budding dance prodigy who would be better served and better utilized elsewhere (Brynn), should be ASHAMED of themselves.

Lifetime would rather have her look like an amateur as much as possible just to keep people talking about it and by proxy, the show. This dance was so bad... Besides the uniform/dress nothing indicated one girl is a soldier and another is a hippie. Like.. NOTHING. It was step, step, step, lift, Brynn does a leg thing, step, step, lift, step. Awful. But it all has to fit in the narrative, I think this season is actually the first in which the moms are allowed to say that Kalani is really good, that Kalani is one of the best, that her ballet's great etc. You could not hear these kinds of comments with Maddie around. They try to build-up Kendall more, I think, she gets a lot of screen time, but the other girl could be invisible. Brynn's treated like an underling, barely skilled enough to dance with the Elites and Nia's... there. I think that at least Abby's nicer to her, she gets better placing on the pyramid and gets complimented more but whoever cuts the show is still hell-bent on not making Nia anyone important. Which is sad because I, too, am here only for Nia :) But I always liked that she was, speaking narrative-wise, "the underdog" and waited for her to succeed. Check out "Bang Bang" by Club Dance Studio on TH-cam- she's the lead in it. Also watch "Violet" Brynn Rumfallo on TH-cam. I get that sometimes Dance Moms makes her look boring, but if you'd ever seen her dance out of Dance Moms, I doubt you'd say she's boring.
brynn is much more than just technique... the real problem in this dance is the difference in skill level. brynn is much more advanced not just technique but also dance ability-wise. that's why nia couldn't keep up with her and had to be involved in lifts instead.

Dreamer no honey, brynn is definitely much better trained, has probably worked harder by training more hours and is maybe naturally more talented as well (not nia's fault! she has other natural talents- she is a great performer and singer). abby could give nia all the chances she wanted but nia simply does not have the dance ability or technique of brynn.

Londun Imvu Nia did the choreography that she was given well. Bryn did most of the dancing. it was almost like nia was just there for lifts. she is a very strong dancer. this should have just been a Bryn solo in my opinion.

Ashlee absolutely drives me insane and I think she's crazy but Brynne has such beautiful long legs that look soooo good when she dances. I think she's very good at stretching them as much as she can and I can't keep my eyes off her she looks amazinh
The concept is lovely, but the music, choreography and costumes ruined it. This would've been a great contemporary or lyrical routine and Nia would of shown a softer side of her dancing but no shes portrayed as someone who has to LIFT and she is never lifted. Come on, she's also a girl.
I'm sorry but Nia's costume looks horrible. It looks like something put together from a couple of dollar stores for a low-budget Halloween costume. Like could Abby seriously not just get her an actual camo uniform? Or something similar?
The theme had such potential, but the choreography sucked! All they really did was run around and throw in a couple lifts! Both girls could've done so much more with choreography that wasn't beneath them.

This was basically a solo for Brynn and nia was a prop. She didn't get any cool skills and Brynn looked amazing but was given all the good choreo.

Personally I think Brynn's costume is fine, but Nia's is ill fitting and does nothing for her at all, it makes her legs and feet look worse.

I think this is supposed to be about the Vietnam war, but I don't get the story.
I think it's supposed to be a soldier struggling with having to fight while also maybe agreeing with the peace-seekers. But I agree, the story is not clear with this choreography...

The concept is lovely, but the music, choreography and costumes ruined it. This would've been a great contemporary or lyrical routine and Nia would of shown a softer side of her dancing but no shes portrayed as someone who has to LIFT and she is never lifted. Come on, she's also a girl.
Nia and Brynn are incredible dancers, but here they were just set up for failure! This is horrible and repetitive choreography.

Apart from the lifts it was like watching 2 separate dances, very little connection that I could see.

The theme had such potential, but the choreography sucked! All they really did was run around and throw in a couple lifts! Both girls could've done so much more with choreography that wasn't beneath them.
