A drugstore brand that consistently surprises me is LA Girl. They are one of the ones left that actually have cheap prices and a few of their products actually became holy grails, specifically their retractable eyeliners. I use the brown one every single day!! Essence has amazing gel liners too, I will never pay more than $5 for an eyeliner again. I also keep a bottle of the LA Girl white and blue mixers on hand for adjusting foundations.
I have a few of the LA Girl liners. I really like them but then I tried the ones from Essence and now theirs are my favorite. The only downside is the color selection and the fact that you have to sharpen them. Which if you're not careful you can end up with a stub of a liner left, lol. But I did find a solution. If I put it in the fridge for a bit then I don't lose much and it sharpens really well. You just can't beat the price for their liners. I have a liner from Marc Jacob's and UD 24/7 line. As far as performance Essence beats both brands out of the water for me. It actually stays put in my waterline for hrs! The other 2 brands disappear within mins and if I use them to tight line I have to go over the liner with a shadow just to keep it there but even that doesn't make them stay put all day. Crazy choice. $24+ or $4? I'm gonna go with latter, lol...

Best drugstore brands: Nyx and ELF. If I could choose (those) two, I’d get by I think. ELF now even has a drugstore mascara that I don’t hate. NYX has good foundations and one of my favorite bronzers. Don’t like their eyeshadows, but ELF has good ones.
I agree. I’ve tried so many Pacifica products and the only one I’ve ever liked are sheet masks, which are usually hard to dislike much in the first place.
The only thing I've tried is their hair and body spray and the corresponding lotion. I'm a fan but I refuse to try anything else because no one ever has anything good to say about them, lol...
Milani is a long time favorite brand of mine but I hear what you are saying, they are hit and miss. I really enjoy the eye primer, BFF face primer, baked highlighter and blushes and the Nude Creme lipstick so I have a handful of staples but I don't care for their eyeshadow. Their foundation isn't bad either, overall I liked it. But I do like Essence and Flower for other drugstore items. And I don't know if they would be considered drugstore but I also like Catrice, really like their True Skin foundation and want to try their bronzer. Good video!
Great video! I feel the same way about elf. I've quit buying from them. I have to say wet and wild is the best drugstore brand considering that their prices are still actually drugstore price point. Everything they sell is under $7 and their powders, blushes, highlighters, concealor, lip products are fantastic. I love and adore the new bare Focus clarifying powder for under the eyes. Their eyeshadows are very good. The only things I haven't liked from them so far are the mascaras but I'm really picky and only like tubing formulas.

If I had to choose a single drugstore brand I'd pick Kiko. They have so many products that there's at least one winner for each category! Their shade ranges are pretty terrible though, I'm lucky that they fit me.
I tried your glowy primer/serum + concealer as foundation hack using the ELF Hydrating Camo Concealer mixed with the Essence Glow Serum Primer and it was so good!

My favourite nude toned lipstick is the Wet n' Wild Mega Last Lipstick in "Mad for Mauve", it's my perfect my lips but better shade and melds so well with a bunch of different lipliners. And I knew you were wearing Oden's Eye Sea Talk...I'm a red head and wearing pretty much the same look today!
I love that elf is duping everybody, but I don't love the higher prices. I finally picked up the Whoa Glow for 14 freaking dollars, and I hate it. I have super dry skin, and the glow comes from mica NOT the formula, so it's way too dry for me. It feels like a silicone primer, and that feeling just gives me the ick lol
Great video! If I had to only use one brand from the drugstore it would be L’Oréal. I love the age perfect serum foundation, several of their mascaras and the balm-in-gloss.
I don't love that the Loreal prices are way up there on things like foundation but I do think the quality is top tier. I'm hardly ever disappointed by a product.
I have two of the other tru naked palettes from CoverGirl. I have smoky and that's rad and I honestly love them. You should try another colorstory in that format!
There's only 1 store in my area of California that sells the brand and it's expensive to buy their products there. What I've tried so far didn't win me over so I refuse to buy anything now... 🤷♀️
I agree with CoverGirl being a reliable brand but their eyeshadows are really lacking so I could never choose them.. I think nyx is the one I would choose if I could only use 1 brand.. even wet n wild is a pretty reliable brand.. they have great products in every category.. I totally agree about Pacifica.. I only like their fragrances but not as much as other ones..
I agree with all the comments that Wet n Wild is THAT girl! They make my holy grail foundation (Photofocus Dewy). It's the only foundation that looks good on my dry, peely winter skin. It's saved my life this winter, and I'm afraid it's being discontinued. The only places that have it rn are the WNW website and Amazon. I ordered a new one from Amazon just in case
Photo focus Dewy is my fave foundation. My walmart has plenty of all shades in stock, hopefully it is just a glitch in the supply chain and not being discontinued!
I remember a time when wet n wild was almost like kids makeup 😂 but they have really stepped it up. I always get my eyeliners, lip and brow products from them. If money was no factor I would splurge on Flower, Loreal and NYX.
I’m frustrated with some of the drugstore with their fast fashion turnover and their price increases. ELF is top on that list. I would still buy them if anything moved me, but honestly nothing has. I even looked at them for Black Friday when the sales were there, but I still didn’t buy anything. I don’t think I’ve bought anything from ELF in over a year (at least).
I clocked this eyeshadow look as Oden's Eye in exactly less than two seconds! They have my favorite formula, glad you finally tried a palette from them!
I don't like Elf foundation. I do love the Cover Girl Outlast foundation. It's one of my favorites. I have it in Creamy Natural. I don't really like Milani. But, I do have one of their blushes, Dolce Vita and a couple of their lipsticks, the oldest formula.
Milani is getting expensive for what it is, there I said it. I stay buying Maybelline, Elf, NYX and Wet n Wild. Don’t really need anything from everyone else. Those 4 got me covered.
Don't get the Pacifica mascara!! It's cool that it comes in glass packaging but the wand is horrible! It's a spiral wand that reminds me of super cheap mascaras that I've used from dollar tree. It doesn't grip your lashes at all so it's not buildable but also doesn't seperate.
Omg, when you brought up the Stila glitter and glows…let me tell you a story. 😂 When they came out in like 2016, I bought them because a TH-camr recommended them and I loved them and I bought every. single. shade. My sister was like “you know those are all going to dry up at the time.” Guess what? They did. Worst makeup purchases ever. I remember her coming over and us going through my makeup and swatching those and getting rid of all the dry ones, and I gave her some of the still good ones since I couldn’t possibly use them all. Love you, Sarah!
On another note, I will say that the new Elf lipsticks are really good! I think they are worth the $9 but on a sale would be ever better! I love the shade “Effortless.”
I don't think we can buy any makeup at all in Canada under $5.00. Elf is still one of the better priced lines with Physicians Formula being extremely high
I just cannot deal with the W&W lipstick packaging any more.. Its to flimsy and makes a complete MESS everywhere... I like the satin formula but the matte formula tugs and dries the lips out too much imo... It also feels heavy on my lips... Love the shades tho...👍

I've not seen kokie in any drug store here in NC, but I'd try it. Actually I do have a brow pencil I got in an ipsy, but I haven't tried it yet.
