Hello! I really love what youre doing and the way your horses and you are progressing (especially River ). Could you please explain which sort of bites you use and why, I couldn't see well on my phone! If you come in France you are welcomed at my home!
First off any bit is harsh in the wrong hands and if you pay attention her hands are extremely soft, some horses are simply more forward than others and just need a little more to keep them responsive. And spurs are a tool and don't hurt the horse if used properly which she does, they simply are a tool designed to make leg pressure more refined so the cue is more clear to the horse and requires a lot less pressure from the riders leg to get the horse to respond to the cue. For example to ask for a lead change the rider without a spur would have to push her leg onto the horse while the rider with Spurs only barely has to nudge the horse to get the same response
Elizabeth is right! spurs are merely refining the leg aids and any bit is harsh in the wrong hands. I rubber Pelham is not a harsh bit, this horse prefers it to a snaffle. The double reins just allow me more accuracy when riding

Do you think that it is okey (i dont know wich wordes i should use right now) that it is a foal? Some of my friends told me that i should better get a old horse. What do you think ? First horse? Don't get a foal, you want to learn how to care for them, and foals are hard work (not to mention, them growing up makes them a little loopy) I think you should get a middle aged horse, around 15 is good. I know it's not from EddiesGun but, I am still gonna answer it!
You''re so right, Mouse & Cat. Rainbowlake Ranch should get an older horse. Be VERY selective, there are all types and temperaments of horses. Kind of scary that she thinks a baby would be a good choice.
