A very in depth and refreshing breakdown, showing little nuances and techniques that arenèt usually talked about or looked at. I think this is a great channel and video to watch.
He tracks the puck so well. Discounted because of height. I'm a flames fan so I'm familiar with small goalies (mike vernon). It's time for the wolfman in Calgary.
Being a smaller goalie (compared to the monster goalie these days) he gotta rely on his speed and atheletism. Hes not a butterfly style (since he's smaller and doesn't take a lot of space in net) or a stand up goalie, sort of like a hybrid of the 2 styles. Kinda reminds me of the goaltenders of the 80's. Hope he finds success in the NHL.
I struggled to understand what you meant with the last point. What exactly is patience on the edges? Thank you and please respond if you can elaborate further.
Definitions of “patience” may differ across coaches but I’ve come to think of it as waiting that extra split second after a shot has been released before executing the butterfly, rather than seeing a goalie butterfly the instant the puck leaves the stick and lose any micro-mobility adjustments.
Good point to clarify, he's referring to Dustin remaining on his skate edges (standing in stance) and timing his drop into butterfly really well to make the save. Which is a really awesome nuance to point out. Many goalies 6'2 and up have have been conditioned into dropping into butterfly immediately since they have the luxury of body mass to make up for any missed timing.

Excellent video sir! These are very important aspects for all young goaltenders to be aware of!
fun fact about his puck handling: Dustin Wolf had 4 assists over 20 games in his rookie WHL year
