Before I watch: I expect France to climb the most from this based on the sheer number of 11th to 15th places they got from countries and juries Edit: Yup, +7 places
I just noticed a small mistake I made: at 18:37 when it shows the full televote result, it says the UK went up 2 positions, when they actually only went up 1. My bad! 🤷♂
That’s ok. I do remember the original results. This results is a little better than the original results. In this simulation, Cyprus finishes at 8th place instead of 12th place, much better place for a good song like Cyprus. And Croatia finishes at 16th place, way more appropriate place than 13th place. And Switzerland also finishes better. 20th to 14th place.
Positive points of this system: - France top 10 - Austria left-side - Switzerland top 15 - Lithuania right-side (good song but not a big fan personnally) - Germany not last Negatives points: - Sweden won with a way bigger margin - Cyprus top 10 (I love the song but I prefer it 12th than 8th) - Estonia & Czechia out of top 10 (even though it was close lol) Personnally, I prefer this ranking but it has his problem (but it's impossible to have perfect results lol)
Hi, did you calculated ROW televoting as we don't have the full ranking revealed? And if yes, how did you do it? Actually, i'm so happy but so sad about my country (France), we really see here that we were really hurt by the voting system (sadly, a lot of countries ranked us 11th-15th place so, we didn't get a lot of points but we were still pretty good in average Personnally, I would love a changing like this in voting, sadly, I find it unfair that an 11th place got the same amount of points of a last place (just imagine a country being 11th with like 5000 votes but having the same amount of points of a country having 100 votes, I mean, the song 50 times more votes but still the same points)
In regards to the RoTW vote, the EBU accidentally published the full ranking at one point. They have since taken it down, but not before someone was able to save it: www.reddit.com/r/eurovision/comments/13j54e9/icelandic_full_televote_results_are_broken_on/
The issue with existing system is to REDUCE jury votes. Entire world against bunch of semi educated musicians, some of them not even listening different genres or have no clue what music really is. Worst part...they are biased and easy to be corrupted specially when Sweden ESC mobs are involved. How Croatia who won 512pts from public, who actually pays for voting from all over the world can be lower in standing than, dunno 25 countries who received less votes from that same public?! No matter you like Let3 or not, that is the fact! People voted for Let3. And how Karrija not suppose to win, since obviously 70% of voters was voting for him. That's call: Democracy! That is the issue here and with this system I see no difference. It is even worst. But, thumb up for your effort, nice simulation and great job you have done :)
If you claim the jury is the problem, that means you're fine with giving Spain only 5 points with Blanca having arguably the best vocals of the night and a highly original, cultural song, Austria only 16 points with Teya and Salena's quirky commentary on the difficulties of being a singer or songwriter, Portugal only 16 points with Mimicat's charisma and dominance of the stage, Australia only 21 points with their prog rock and lightshow, Estonia 22 points... The juries aren't the most representative of the musical world, that's true. What they need is not less power, but better REPRESENTATION. They need more juries who aren't just pop/classical trained. Throw in more jurors with rock, metal, ethnic focus, other songs... and the jury would be much fairer. Anyway, the televote is just as problematic - when Australia and Estonia who placed 1st and 2nd in their semi placed 9th and 10th among the same songs in the GF, you have a big issue, because those two songs didn't suddenly drop in quality! Voters can submit up to 20 votes, which means people can dump all 20 votes on, say, Finland - and completely ignore all the other songs, which isn't fair to those other songs at all. The public should have to rank their songs too, and their votes should reflect that!
Eurovision voting system is not democracy. It is a song competition with its own rules, as any competition. Should we also let the public vote who did the best at diving at the Olympics instead of letting the jury decide?
It's frustrating to see my country to be many times in the top 15 but not in the top 10 by countries. It was the same problem with "Roi"
It's long overdue, but it's finally done.
Next up: 2015
Are you working on the extended voting system for Eurovision 2024?

Yes! Your system is GOOD!
the final results aren't really different BUT this is SO MUCH BETTER this way
Hard disagree
Why
Is he working on the Extended voting system for ESC 2024 yet???
France 9th instead of 16th is it more fair!

- France top 10

@@ESCEthan oh ok, I didn't knew it so, thank you for showing me this
Ngl, this ranking is even worse than the actual ranking. Armenia down, estonia down, Spain down, Czechia lower. This is kinda sad.
Can you pls do this one with Eurovision 2024
Is he working on the extended voting system for ESC 2024 yet???
In every modified System Germany is better😂.
This system is more fair in my opinion
2024??
And yet SOMEONE will still get "nul points"
The best would be to dismiss juries and 1 tele vote per device, so it cannot be manipulated.
Will never happen but result would be better.
