this is part of an old Dutch tradition for a children’s holiday, if you want to look it up it’s called Sinterklaas. There is nothing associated with racism from my part.
@@ASMaRja this is a quote from a Time article in 2020: "...Christmas-is tainted for many kids across the country. As the nights draw in, The Netherlands prepares for the arrival of Sinterklaas, a Dutch amalgamation of St Nicholas and Santa. Accompanying him are his helpers, the Zwarte Pieten or Black Petes, traditionally portrayed by white people as buffoons in full blackface complete with oversized lips and Afro wigs. Collecting candy from the Black Petes is a rite of Dutch childhood, but one from which many Black children feel excluded. “I do not enjoy it very much,” says Yano, 9, wriggling in the protective embrace of his mom. “It reminds me too much of slavery and my dad is Black, so I know the history of slavery, and that makes me very sad around those holidays when Zwarte Piet is there.” "
@@kmo3066please stop responding. As an outsider to our country you will never understand this tradition. As a kid this is a very enjoyable time with presents and sweets. If you don’t care for the tradition and/or don’t have the inside knowledge (other than googling it from an article that is also written by outsiders) then just don’t watch this video. There is no point in getting offended as ASMaRja is just partaking in said event in real life like many many others in our country. Please refrain from using this video as your moral debate zone and find some other place online where this is appropriate. Thank you.

@@ASMaRja using features of Black people as a costume is racist. Just because it's part of a tradition doesn't make it less racist.
