Such an underrated channel. Also If they stick with Doom for awhile after Secret Wars I could see them doing Infamous Iron Man on the account of RDJ playing Doom now.
Something I loved about the movie was the added emotional significance to the Wolverine costume. I think everyone was just happy to finally have Hugh wear a true comic inspired costume, but to have it be a reminder of his friends and what it means to be an X-man is great.
Part of me wishes Deadpool asked who Channing Tatum was, he replied "The name's Gambit, Mes Ami. Remember it." And the other part respects they didn't.
It’s a shame that Ghost Rider was a different studio. I would have loved Nick cage to come back. I also would have loved seeing Emma Stone as Gwen Pool.

I definitely hope that Doom doesn’t take the mask off until Secret Wars. I also like the idea that his goal is the same as Tony but with different means. He’s going to put a suit of Armor around the world, any means necessary. Also they did say that he’s playing Victor Von Doom
Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch being the Ghost Rider Brothers is a element that makes for a better Ghost Rider film than any Ghost Rider film we have had so far. Johnny, Danny, Robbie, Alejandra, and Michael are the Ghost Riders that could work for an R-rated Horror/Superhero film.
I expected just fun fan service like No Way Home, but I got a way funnier, way more heartwarming, way more true to Deadpool, love letter to superhero movies over the past 20 years
Let’s not sleep on Kelly Thompson’s Sabrina reboot! It’s an absolutely brilliant modern reinterpretation of the classic American comics icon that really stood out from most of the other Archie reboot comics in a way that’s kind of hard to describe.
I love how everyone just ignores how it’s the villain of the movie talking about canon events and the literal protagonist and his allies going “maybe you’re wrong and that we don’t have to just accept these things without actually trying”. It’s like pretty clear which way the story is leaning, and yet people have still missed the point
I love this channel and have the upmost respect for Sal but come on dude, that was a rather dismissive comment about the Romani people and their desire to be have their culture represented on the big screen. As an actress living in LA I can assure you there are tons of Romani actors trying to break into the industry and landing a role like Doctor Doom could create many opportunities for their community to have a voice and representation in Hollywood (Echo and Ms. Marvel’s actresses literally never acted prior to landing their roles but Marvel was determined to appropriately cast them and found actors of the correct cultural backgrounds). Florian Munteanu is one of the few to break into the industry and even starred in Shang Chi. So it’s not impossible to properly cast Doom though like you and Tiffany suggested, hopefully Downey is just a variant and a properly cast Doom is awaiting us down the line in the MCU proper. You’re good people and I know you had no malice behind your remark but maybe just have some empathy for communities still fighting for the representation that you have been privileged enough to experience in most media.
I loved the ugly dog they cast for Deadpool & Wolverine. I just unironically loved how her matted fur makes it look she has a natural Mohawk. And the way her tongue can’t stay in her mouth reminds me of my recently deceased mutt who had a similar problem (we had to put him down Monday, he was in so much pain his body didn’t fight the euthanasia medication when it was injected).
I keep saying it: Miles Teller as the maker! Marvel loves multiverse stuff and bringing actors back, and it totally makes sense for once, because makers is a multiversal character. (Plus they would justify the existence of Fan4stic)
If RDJ wasn't Tony Stark, he'd be a great cast for Doom. But he was and we can't get over it. I don't see it as much as bankrupt as it is where this was always going. Since Endgame, the MCU has been cannibalizing more and more pre-MCU movies for references. Between No Way Home, Doctor Strange 2, and this, they've run out, and the only thing left to cannibalize is the early MCU. In a way, it makes sense. I watched this after I got back from Deadpool 3, I fully agree about the Honda Odyssey scene. I can't believe Honda let them do it, but I'm so glad they did because the sequence is so brilliantly shot. Also, we didn't get Pandapool, which is a crime.
Also, I REALLY, REALLY like how once again, a variant of Loki and well, at very least RDJ playing Victor Von Doom are at diametrically opposing sides. So much so that I firmly believe that this has been planned for a long while, with or without a Kang, recasting that role or not. As a lifelong comic book fan, I couldn’t disagree with Sal more, you CAN be a lifelong comic book and MCU fan, these things aren’t exclusionary. I haven’t been this excited for the MCU since Endgame, I see some insane potential here.
My thoughts: Doom is alternate universe Tony Stark, raised by somebody else and given a different name. Bucky didn't kill his parents. Somebody else did when Tony was younger (possibly a baby or a toddler). That person then adopted Tony, and Tony had to climb his way out of Hydra. Only he's not called Tony - he's called Victor von Doom now, because it's the only name he's known. Reasoning: The MCU with What If has emphasized the multiverse as a hypothetical vessel. "What if we got this thing in this universe, but it was different in this way?". Doom is vengeful. He's kind of like a Magneto figure. The story for Tony Stark in the MCU was about correcting for his father's legacy, which motivates him toward extreme measures (Ultron). Ultimately, he has to reckon with the fact that Hydra killed his parents, and that a friend defended their killer. This remixes that. This Tony never really knew his parents, but still has to face their deaths later on. Dealing with the existence of Hydra, a seemingly never-ending organization, leads him toward extreme measures in the name of ensuring peace.
Was at SDCC on Thursday and it was a hoot and a half. Got to hear from some of my current faves, Waid and Williamson, at the Absolute Power panel, and got a picture with my all-timer, Geoff Johns 👆👉 I wish I hadn't been so starstruck, since I didn't say much outside of exchanging pleasantries lol, but it still made the con for me.
I didn’t think Deadpool and Wolverine was a particularly good movie but it was a fun and entertaining one that was enjoyable to watch in a packed theater. I had a good time!
My Doctor Doom thoughts So, he is playing Victor Von Doom. That’s confirmed by the Russos and it seems to be this Doom is from the universe the Fantastic Four are in. So, why cast RDJ? Why not an Easter European? I agree and I would’ve preferred that BUT! There is a story here. If I’m Marvel doing Doomsday I’d have TWO stories. One is Doctor Doom in Earth 616 growing in power trying to save the multiverse (so he can rule it) and the other is his origins. Each story moves forward and the flashbacks should either be similar to or juxtapose what’s currently happening. For example, if Doom is invading Wakanda for Vibranium then we should see him in Latveria in a flashback protecting his people, making sure they rest well. If Peter is struggling over the loss of Aunt May and able to move forward we should see Doom going to heel trying to free his mother, unable to move on. When we see Doom finally wear THE mask that’s when in present day we see it come off and he looks like Tony Stark but with a scratch. I think him looking like Stark can add more to his insecurities. Before he could see himself and was embarrassed, now he can’t even see himself so he’s trying tk do more, trying to compensate by being greater then Stark to prove to Richards and himself he is superior. It should add to Doom’s insecurities. He has to share a face with an icon What I love about Doom is how he is a character based around the question “how can we be a perfectionist when we are so imperfect” I think we can explore that still.
I don’t think that Sal is correct about the Deadpool and Thor’s scene. It’s not just a gag, but it works as an way for us to understand why Loki let something like that unfold in the TVA. It links Deadpool and Thor together which would likely bring Loki’s attention, whatever is there, seems to make Deadpool important to go through learning the lessons he did in this film, there are several call backs to that moment with Wade waking up and screaming Thor’s name. This is a plot seed just waiting for a pay off.
I hate the Doom casting. I think it feels desperate. Doom is the greatest Marvel Comics villain and instead of having the confidence to actually let him stand on his own, now we have some dumb Tony Stark variant with RDJ returning. And because it’s RDJ, I’ve unfortunately seen more people hype up the god awful MCU Spider-Man/Iron Man relationship and what this means for that instead of rightfully hyping up the incredible Reed Richards / Victor Von Doom relationship and dynamic. And more whitewashing!
I think RDJ as Doom may work. Tony Stark variant that doesn't have a Pepper or Happy and is more heavy influenced by Stane. When he's attack in the desert his faced is scared and he has to survive alone, become bitter and feeling the need to "fix" the world due to his pain which takes him down a dark path
Sal, there was a What If story where Tony and Doom swapped mind, so this could be something like that where doom on inside a tony body in that universe and there is a different physical doom and that would not be a lie.
Idk about RDJ as Doom. He’d have to stay in the mask and maintain character. I think he can do it but I don’t know what that looks like yet. I still think of Ironman first, before anything else.
Just saw the movie. It was so freaking good! Spoiler!!! Do not touch I loved the reveal of Johnny. The second I saw the collar of his outfit I knew it was him and I was so excited. Although I don’t want Tatum as Gambit this movie proved to me that the costume and power set works in live action. Gambit is my favorite X-man (tied with Nightcrawler) and I really want a Gambit and Rogue movie. Also I’m pretty sure the gambit suit wasn’t CG. P.S. My friend who has only scene X1 loved it and said that it did a really good job at giving context for the characters. My Dad literally cried.
Yeah i agree while I’m interested to see RDJ as Doom I would’ve liked to see someone else , maybe a Cillian Murphy or literally anyone else other than IRON MAN, feels like we’re gonna get another dumb multiverse story to make it happen. Also thought the story of Deadpool & Wolverine was whatever but still enjoyed the movie for sure
As someone who was very excited and loved speculating about what route they'd take with DOOM the rdj and Russo brothers of it all makes me about 90% less excited for the avengers films and even the F4 film because with the handling of casting rdj and how Deadpool wolverine handled the multiverse it dosn't seem like we'll ever do any other universe justice and play with it along with the main one and we'll just keep getting doctor strange m.o.m multiverse stuff and that was just depressingly cheap.
Hi! Fun show. I don't think the baby was anything more than conjecture. She took out her i.u.d., they copulated, she got killed. They talked about baby names. I don't think any baby died.
I don't know, I feel like Sal saying 'name four' when casting a Romani actor to play one of the most high profile Romani characters in comics is a bit harsh. I doubt most folks could have named four teenage Muslim girl that could have played Kamala Khan before Iman Vellani was cast, and yet they found one who was not only perfect for the role but who has become hugely beloved within the community.
@@kadegetslaid634 there aren't many, or there aren't many you know about? Who's to say that they couldn't have found a decent Romani actor if they tried.
@apocalypsecomicsuk I mean like, that'd be amazing and way better than rdj, but if they won't do it for Wanda and pietro, they won't do it for doom sadly
Spoilers: My main complaint was the CG was so bad. From the bus fight scene, to the mask and worst was the fake muscles. Also as a short king, we wanted to see a short actor play wolverine not a creepy weird small CG hugh Jackman wolverine
Worse part about Peter seeing this doom as Tony is he might think the spell is working and that it’s Tony but he doesn’t remember me and try to help him out till Peter figures out it’s not Tony and he’s been helping the bad guy
If I had to say where each brand won, I would say that DC gave the best comic book announcements, even if we knew about them, while Marvel won in live action and presentation (I don't know how much they paid for that amazing drone Show, but it was worth it XD). About, RDJ, I like the idea, it's creative and risky, I accept that someone may not like it, however whoever tells me that it is creative bankrut, but was happy with the return of Andrew, Tobey and Hugh is hypocritical.
My question is, how does Logan dying in 2029 cause Deadpool (and Logan’s) timeline/earth start to die in…2024? Lol. His universe is decaying from a death that hasn’t even happened yet?
I don't see this the same way at all. I think there was real passion in the MCU. I think there were creators who genuinely wanted to see these characters put to screen. I think they TRIED, but the cultural narrative, that the MCU was dead every time a "disappointing" movie or show came out, was too powerful. Most of their audience is white men, who want to see other white men on the screen. The casting of Robert Downey Jr. feels like throwing in the towel. They wanted to see if they could get the same level of investment for these new characters as they could for the Guardians of the Galaxy. And because of the Marvels, they're backpedaling. I'm excited for Doom a la alternate universe Tony. But I wish the movies had gotten more people into reading the comics. The number of times I heard that a plot thread or a character in a movie was invented because of "woke" politics, rather than because it existed in the source material the movie is adapting, is rather staggering.
I’m sorry Sal and Tiffany but Absolute DC seems like not for me. I am actually legit excited for that TVA limited series and One World Under Doom though.
I'm willing to give it a shot, but something about depriving characters of major traits or support than saying it is the same character is weird. I had this same problem in Flashpoint when Superman helps at the end. Why does a torture victim care to help us? At least all the top talent is on it so maybe they can make it work. I just hope it feels more like Batman with the furniture rearanged not Batman, missing an entire floor.
@@codystork3008 i mean if you don't like it, you still have the main universe to go back too. which they will have new creative teams, new arcs and new books: like come on dan watters writing nightwing, ram v writing new gods, and jeff lemire writing JSA. if you don't like what absolute dc has to offer, all that means is that you have a much more manageable pull list size then i do.

Idk about RDJ as Doom. He’d have to stay in the mask and maintain character. I think he can do it but I don’t know what that looks like yet. I still think of Ironman first, before anything else.
Just saw the movie. It was so freaking good!
Spoiler!!! Do not touch
I loved the reveal of Johnny.
Fur is such a great movie
What happened to Cable is my question and I think cable going back in time fucked up Deadpool’s timeline in DP2 a lot and made alternate time streams
Why RDJ?
$$
@@codystork3008it wouldn't make sense if it was money RDJ would cost more then the entire movie.
Showed up too late in my feed but needed the sal and Tiff view. Btw I went twice and both audiences felt so mild. Shit felt weird and off
I don't know, I feel like Sal saying 'name four' when casting a Romani actor to play one of the most high profile Romani characters in comics is a bit harsh. I doubt most folks could have named four teenage Muslim girl that could have played Kamala Khan before Iman Vellani was cast, and yet they found one who was not only perfect for the role but who has become hugely beloved within the community.
Nando v movies also had this problem, it sucks but there aren't many romani actors that are good and have the range for doom
How did they not reference wade’s time as a sumo wrestler?
She wasn’t pregnant in the 2nd one. They were trying.
Spoilers:
My main complaint was the CG was so bad. From the bus fight scene, to the mask and worst was the fake muscles. Also as a short king, we wanted to see a short actor play wolverine not a creepy weird small CG hugh Jackman wolverine
1:13:54 I like Dragonball Z battlefields, though.
Gambit’s outfit and wolverine’s mask were cgi?
Worse part about Peter seeing this doom as Tony is he might think the spell is working and that it’s Tony but he doesn’t remember me and try to help him out till Peter figures out it’s not Tony and he’s been helping the bad guy
1:04:25 weren’t pregnant they were trying to get pregnant in Deadpool 2
Could you do the spoiler & spoilerfree movie review in a seperate video, it's annoying to dig through to find it
Sal wade and Vanessa didn't get pregnant they talked about having one
A movie in which wolverine wears the suit is hard for me to hate, add on a cool dance sequence, I’m happy
its difficult getting excited with the new marvel stuff. hopefully its decent, prob not tho.
When it comes to RDJ as Doom: LET. THEM. COOK!
also, the RDJ reveal was hella lame
