You have done a masterful job at capturing the very essence of Mortarion, his legion and their journey into the Garden. This was a Banger.

Interesting, I imagined Mortarion with light and thin hair. Actually I haven't seen any art with Mortarion where someone showed his hair. Author, do you know anything lol?
I think I've read about him having long and lank hair but very sparse like you say. These primarch depictions are very much an own take and in some respects not entirely lore friendly. In my head mortarion doesn't look likes been irradiated, he is still a gene son of the emperor so think his hair is there. Just not very well kept haha
Originally Mortarion struggling to breathe as he rose higher on his home world (no spoliers) and the air became more and more toxic. Is whatever your imagination says though :) maybe a guardsmen caught in his miasma
@BlackCell Audio actually, I simply used The Blood Ravens. Their past is shrouded in mystery and Aurelia is relatively a blank slate beyond getting sucked into the Warp. My personal favorite(s) are from the game Space Marines and Dawn of War (I want to say three, arrival of The Blood Ravens)
