Behavioural adaptations are the way an organism behaves or acts: - Elephants: flap their ears, spray themselves with water - to keep the elephant cool - Swallows: Migrate to warmer climes - to avoid the cold and lack of food 3. Functional adaptations are the processes going on inside an organism, like their: - Metabolism: Camels: very little sweat, concentrated urine, break down fat to release water - Reproductive system: + Extremophiles: bacteria, archaea - high temps, salt concentrations, pressure
Question: At 3.58, you say the bear has adapted to eat a range of things and chooses to do so. This would be a behavioural adaptation. But could it also be a Functional adaption? As the digestion system can break down food to get energy from multiple sources? Any help is greatly appreciated!
