- Three-time Tony nominee Marin Mazzie has played the loving mother in Ragtime, the troubled mother in Next to Normal and now the misunderstood mother in Carrie. The big-voiced star stopped by Show People with Paul Wontorek to dish about her star turn in MCC Theater's reimagined Carrie. Highlights of their gab session include Marin dressed as the world's most glamorous sister-wife, remembering "Out for Blood" and Betty Buckley from Carrie's Broadway premiere, the pitch that sold her on the musical and how Margaret White has affected her sex life. Mazzie also discusses going to high school with Joe Mantello, the healing powers of Next to Normal and how Merrily We Roll Along changed her career. Haven't watched this since it first aired. Rest easy beautiful soul.
I was so grateful to see her twice onstage- what a talent!!
Sad to hear of her passing- before seeing her I could never imagine crying for Margaret White.
Saw her in "Ragtime" and "Kiss Me, Kate"....her two greatest performances. Great interview!
She was such a beautiful actress and a talented person that you could tell through videos like this how kind she was
I had Carrie tickets, but it closed a few days early and I missed out. She was awesome in "Next To Normal"
dis woman is seriously too amazing, and she should be more known!!!
I find it surprising that she doesn't remember how amazing Betty Buckley and Linzi were in their roles. I saw it and it still sits in my mind as one of the best female performances on Broadway. Buckley blew you away on all levels. I was so shocked and instantly got hooked to her as a performer.
saw Carrie and got a pic with her, she´s so nice :)
ahh i love her
RIP
