Dodgers used to have what can be described as a " punch the other team in the mouth - we can beat you at anytime and anyplace SWAGGER ". The other team could not relax until the final out. They have not had that since at least 2019. Injuries happen of course but you need to have players that can step up and cover for an injured player. Now we just get some chump brought in off the dumpster list, someone who can't hit or lock it in as far as pitching with a purpose. They sit and wait for opportunity's and end up getting beat. In the 60's and 70's if a position player was hitting below .200 that player was not long for the major leagues, same with pitchers who can't get the job done.

Every MLB player has an off day and sometimes has a great adjustment day. A great manager can spot an opposing batter to see if he is having an off day or an adjustment day. Bruce Bochy is a master at that, while Robert is not. A great manager can adjust his pitcher to the batter.
Roberts sabotaged the team’s effort. Even he admitted himself that when he took Wrobleski out and sent Evan Phillips in, he changed the game’s momentum. He did so knowing how terrible Phillips had been performing of late.

It’s not his call it’s the GM. He is the one that chooses which pitchers go in. They are at a trade deadline seeking for the holes that need to be filled and so far Phillips is on the chopping blocks along with Alvarez.
Yup, they did mess up but still probably win without the runs Phillips gave up. Leave the starter for one more out.

Treinen should not be charged with the L….this L belongs to Roberts. One for pitching Phillips and two for not taking him out after three consecutive batters. Wroblesky needed to get one more out especially after he got through the two most dangerous batters, even if one or two scored Dodgers would still have a chance to score more and maintain a lead. Just one more out!
I agree Roberts should've let Worbleski in. I believed that Wrobo would've gotten the last out. Roberts lost this one and many others, he ruined it for Wrobleski.

Runner on third may have scored but if kept in the game, he would likely have gotten out of the inning with a run CB or two and still be in contention for the W. The L went to Treinen hut actually belongs to Roberts. This move ruined it for Wroblesky and the team as well. Padres are partying right now with that call!

I've had it with Dave Roberts. He is clueless in far too many situations! Personally and please don't trash me, I would prefer the other finalist, when Roberts was hired, former Dodgers bench coach Gave Kapler. I don’t see the Dodgers making any big trades. At this point I think they know 2024 is pretty much over because of injuries And too many players under performing in the back part of the lineup. You can only have so many sub 200 hitters in the lineup at the same time.
Trienen, Vesia, Hudson, Honeywell and Banda should be the go too's. But they can't pitch every night. The starters have got to go longer if they can...And they can!
