Vectorman flashes a peace sign. And Alex has his hand to one side like "You know you can't win, right?" Time to go a little in-depth about this song... I was expecting a D-Sides Triple Trouble remix to come, but that expectation was thrown out the window when V2.6 came out of nowhere. I noticed a screenshot of God Z, and that got me curious to check out the new songs, starting with this one. Needless to say, I was in for one hell of a treat. This song puts up one interesting first impression, needing to be accessed through an "anti-piracy screen" of sorts where you can meet him. When the song began, I was shocked to see how huge and uncanny such a twist on Lord X was, but the timer made me go "Ok, why is this 5 minutes? No way something like Cycles would sound good with that much time." Of course, the song starts to be like a remix of Cycles at first, but then the visual transition came up and all expectations I had at the time broke to bits. It was so pleasing to see God Z transform himself and the world into that of other classic SEGA IPs...even the music shifted gears to fit with the current state of things! Ristar, Vectorman, and Alex Kidd were amazing choices I instantly recognized, but the finale of the song was the cherry on top. It presented a fresh utilization of the POV concept FNF Lullaby's Monochrome helped kickstart, and displayed what it's really like to face a god, fulfilling the hulking might's name. The whole ride represents what defines a character like Lord X very well through God Z, from the godly powers his holds to the grotesque beauty of his world. Like I stated before, this is like combining Cycles and Triple Trouble with spices of originality, and it's one huge pop-off from the team. I'd be perfectly content if this marked the end of the Sonic.EXE content D-Sides has to offer as it's a great conclusion; in fact, the content management regarding Sonic.EXE is way better than the dumpster fire vs. EXE became before it exploded into cancellation. Thank you for making a track outdoes its original counterpart by a landslide, and the rest of the team for a banger remix mod! ...and yes, I know there's more stuff prone to show up. I'll just wait and see what else Pandora's box brings to the table.
Yeah, it became way more popular to complain about why V3 became a dumpsterfire than what made the mod great. The major problem was the bloat. The team tried to include too many exes, and only valued the shoutout over the presentation of the best ones. EXE/Faker was for me the only one worth being in the mod since it kind of played as a way to show what the team learned from the horror that Sonic and Sonic.exe had to offer, a special bonus, of sorts. But they tried to include more of them, ultimately removing the unicity of EXE (after he was outed from the mod when Rightburst decided to frame Revie out of pure spite)and... well ultimately trampling on the name of the mod itself (Why is it Vs. Sonic.exe if the main selling points are self-insert OCs and other OC shoutouts?). And the result? There was too much to do, and too much to keep secret until final release. Eventually, what had to happen... happened: There was too much on the plate, the mod got leaked, and ended up being cancelled.
@@lexcentrique2554 I could argue about EXE and Revie, but I think it's better to acknowledge that we can all agree what happened regarding her that day was the beginning of the end for the mod. There were a ton of other issues that followed such as the whole JesterFrog rabbit hole, MarStarBro shattering his own image (in more ways than one), and just poor decision-making in general. V3's development serves as a good lesson on how NOT to make/manage an FNF mod.

A really cool detail was how in the right animation for all of them they hinted to the next character that was going to appear, Ristar during Mighty, Vectorman during Ristar, Alex Kidd during Vectorman, and back to Mighty during Alex Kidd. I just thought that was incredibly sick.
Might just be me, but God Z’s Mighty vessel and Alex Kidd vessel sound the most distinct from what I can hear. Mighty sounds a lot more distorted and loud than the others and Alex Kidd sounds much more clear.
Don't know how or why, but my brain somehow came up with a decent backstory for this character. Basically, the employees at SEGA in the D-Sides universe were working on a new project to make their games more "immersive" with a new piece of machinery they created for an assignment. Unfortunately, they accidentally summoned an eldritch being. However, this being was really into childish entertainment and took great interest in the video game company's creations. So eventually, he managed to gain trust of the employees at SEGA to help them make games such as Ristar, Vectorman, and Alex Kidd. Of course, God-Z's original designs for the characters and worlds were dumbed down significantly due to them looking a bit too creepy for SEGA's general audience to look at. Meanwhile, God-Z used his abilities to make these original game creations maniest in his own world, his own personal paradise similar to Lord X's game. The best part? No one was actually harmed at this time, and the three games were a hit among the SEGA community! ...until of course, something changed. One fateful day, a few of the employees who still weren't very keen on having a demonic entity working with them decided it would be better for everyone's safety if they found a way to remove Z from the enterprise. So they devised a plan to imprison Z in the world he created using the exact same machine that brought him to the world in the first place. Unfortunately, that was their last mistake. The employees's plan was to trick Z into thinking they wanted to see the world Z had created in person, and so Z was delighted to show them the "beautiful world" he worked so hard on. He strolled in the portal created by the portal made by the device first, expecting them to follow for the tour. But then in a burst of sudden betrayal, the employees closed the portal the minute Z had stepped through. Z, of course, wasn't happy with this at all. He decided he would no longer be satisfied with SEGA's adaptations of his game concepts being sent to the public. He was going to show the whole world his true, original creations. One. Soul. At a time. And sure enough, he well did. The group of employees involved in the event later went missing that night, and the new "immersive" project was canceled and sealed away in the depths of a SEGA corp warehouse located in an unknown place. Ristar, Vectorman, and Alex Kidd were no longer sold on shelves anywhere, in fact anyone in SEGA's current main enterprise would claim the games were never manufactured at all. But Z is still out there. Showing everyone his "beautiful world". And BF was soon going to be one of his next victims.
Okay so I always see people making goofy ass dorky comments about their own D-Side cycles variant without any consequences or interaction so I might as well throw my own into the pit too. @@sprungle Feels uninspired. My favorite part about D-sides is how characters are almost always replaced with another character from their respective franchise, with some clever way to relate them to the original song. The thing is, just giving up on that and replacing every instance of Sonic with Mighty doesn't do any of that, it's just boring.
@@Left4Sharkbait it's whatever. I wouldn't expect that much since they only started doing the character swapping thing recently. Before the easter update the design philosophy of the characters just seemed to be outfit swapping/ changing.
Wat i love about GOD Z is that he doesnt have a true form but instead takes different forms of characters kinda like a oc i made of myself DARK RICK he also has the ability to transform into anybody he want but is stuck looking as me because he absorbt my human dna
Why do I feel like God Z's true form would be the spirit of the creator of SEGA Enterprises himself reincarnated as A demon trapped in his own games causing him to go insane being trapped forever. And being able to turn into the protagonists he made and than killing his own creations just for fun. He still waits to get out of the disk he is trapped in he now calls himself God Z. Also can you please tell me the name of the creator of SEGA? I forgot his name.
Listen y'all: Cycles D-Sides (Pokémon Mix) It'd be MissingNo alongside the other three "entities" from his left, up and right poses on his original sprites in Lullaby Like, it starts with a very "normal" MissingNo Then it goes to Ghost Then to Skeleton Aerodactyl And then to Skeleton Kabutops To finish up, then I think you know how the thing goes. Gang's back together and all that stuff
God Z is just a show-off. Look at the left pose of his Mighty form, and how he just looks back in all of his losing icons (except for his Alex form). He’s doing this for fun, convince me otherwise.
Much in the same vein as Lord X, both are characters who are confident in their control of the world and their ability to end it as we know it. The best part is their indulgence in what little fun it can provide them, and how they go on about it.

This song is one of my favorite D-Sides remixes that are featured in the original D-Sides mod, together with Feaster, D-Side Lore, D-Side Endless, D-Side Monster, and D-Side Too Slow!
The one thing I like to think is that D sides Bf is nothing like Bf in the thought that Bf will just rap with anyone regardless of what their appearance or what they plan to do with him if he should lose. Meanwhile D side Bf finds the normal rap battles a tad mundane, but when it's some abomination or demonic entity he throws everything into the song because if the demon is doing everything in it's power to get their claws on him, he's gonna make sure they will have to earn the right to kill him.

Might just be me, but God Z’s Mighty vessel and Alex Kidd vessel sound the most distinct from what I can hear. Mighty sounds a lot more distorted and loud than the others and Alex Kidd sounds much more clear.
alex kidd's section has longer notes
i mean, i do see some diffrences for the voice in every section, except ristar and vectorman they sound exactly the same
Ristar has a slightly lower pitch than vectorman from what I can hear
Y'all really went and brought fuckin Vectorman out for this one
Also dragged Alex Kidd out, too. Cool shit!
Mighty's a Real Star in this.
Vectors Jealous,he's acting like a Kidd.
This song is a perfect example of when good music and good art combine to form a masterpiece.
My jaw literally dropped, this song is fucking amazing
I thought 4:58 sounded like Defeat and now that I know Rareblin made the vocals, this might not be a coincidence
Would surprise me, its rareblin.
This absolutely slaps.
NO WAY XENO IN THE COMMENTS
God Z has to have some of the most metal vocals I've ever heard from a character in FNF or its mods.
W.I. Suicide Mouse would be a great contender, Algebraicaitrix deadass sounds like an electric guitar.
Cycles - Friday Night Funkin' Dsides Remix (ft. Rareblin) (Official Upload)
probably my favorite song in the update
Truly one of the Friday night funkin’ of all time
Don't know how or why, but my brain somehow came up with a decent backstory for this character.
(And somehow I barely know anything about Ristar, Vectorman, or Alex Kidd still)
A creator gone mad, absolutely awesome. Great job on this!
Edit: prob not mad just his creations are beyond comprehension
Edit2: I AM SEGA
@@timeslice Thanks man!
This is actually pretty close to god z's official story, although i do prefer this one
How do you *accidentally* summon an eldritch entity?
Bro, what does cycles have to do with this. Like, I can’t even find a resemblance. This was worth the wait.
glad that we got some vectorman action in this song

Finally something that isn't just Sonic = Mighty!
Yeah so I THOUGHT that, but apparently it actually is still Mighty in the mod... I really thought that, because of the background, it might be Eggman.
@@Left4Sharkbait At least he switches it up by changing to other Sega protagonists.
I don't see how it's a bad thing
@@sprungle Feels uninspired. My favorite part about D-sides is how characters are almost always replaced with another character from their respective franchise, with some clever way to relate them to the original song. The thing is, just giving up on that and replacing every instance of Sonic with Mighty doesn't do any of that, it's just boring.
@@Left4Sharkbait it's whatever. I wouldn't expect that much since they only started doing the character swapping thing recently. Before the easter update the design philosophy of the characters just seemed to be outfit swapping/ changing.

well thats strange "ghost rick"
darkness richard
Spectre Richard
Why do I feel like God Z's true form would be the spirit of the creator of SEGA Enterprises himself reincarnated as A demon trapped in his own games causing him to go insane being trapped forever. And being able to turn into the protagonists he made and than killing his own creations just for fun. He still waits to get out of the disk he is trapped in he now calls himself God Z.
Also can you please tell me the name of the creator of SEGA? I forgot his name.

Then to Skeleton Aerodactyl
And then to Skeleton Kabutops

What is the motif at 0:30 I can’t find it
If it's the one exactly at 0:30 sung by BF? That's the motif of "Thorns" from Week 6 of the official game.
D-Sides as a whole *is* built on flipping everything on its head. I could definitely imagine what you say about D-Sides BF being true.

Vectorman's definitely my favorite part, love the melody there.

God Z is a corrupted Genesis console. Take this knowledge as you will.
Dynamite heady should have been there. Atleast as like a background easter egg.
I noticed how the end of this song resembles Vessel from phantom attack
(I will refer to the opponent as lord x so you can see the similarities)
Firstly, the end is a first person fight against Lord X
Secondly, only his head is showing
Finally, the background is completely black
Whether or not this was intentional, its very cool !1!
The music for mighty in the first phase is amazing generally one of my favorite songs in the mod
