He knew exactly what was coming. Anyone familiar with Spike Jones knows what was coming. I was not disappointed. All the lunacy aside, Jones was as serious a muscian as he could be. You have to be to arrange music the way he did. Nothing was out of place. I wish I could have seen a show of his live. Sadly he died 20 years before I was born
Unlike you know who on the "Rust" set, Spike checked to make sure the gun held only blanks at 0:56. That is exactly what any actor on a movie set is responsible for doing.
If you look up My Guy by Mary Wells on Wikipeida it points out they used a little of Canadian Sunset at the start at the behest of one of the trombonists when they couldn't think of an intro!
The guy in the golf cart has gotta be Billy Barty. I'm familiar with him only because of the Peter Gunn series where he's a pool hustler, but I'm sure he did other good work as well. He was a child actor in the 1930s.

Yup. He had fun with music, but he was a musician.

That was hilarious!
I was 11 days old when this aired. Canadian Sunset (Hugo Winterhalter's version) is one of the best instrumentals ever. Give it a listen.

He was an ensemble member for years.
He's the most famous midget in show business
November 15, 1956. The little person is Billy Barty.
I didn’t know that there were words to this song let alone anything like this. Thanks so much for posting this.
Pianist Eddie Heywood wrote the song. Andy Williams sang the hit vocal version, 1956..
Amazing
Have never seen this and have never heard the lyrics to CS.
Was this on Ford's show or on Spike's?
❤

😂🤣😂 Love this. A bit ironic for me, as I'm always wishing he'd sing alone instead of with his top twenty.

That thumbnail tho 😏🤭😂
One of the wackiest things I've ever seen!
