@@Bigzthegreat garlic is actually a crutch, it’s useful early game for the aoe damage but unless you build specifically around it (which has its own huge drawbacks), it falls off really hard once one-shot enemies stop spawning.

If you pick up peachone you need to also get ebony wings, they combine as the evolved form (also free's up a slot to pick up a new item), also king bible upgrade is pretty insane as well.
The holy wand is honestly a great combo with garlic, as while garlic is only useful for 2 things (insta-kill early enemies, and reduced knockback resistance), the latter of those is a really overpowered ability. The reason bosses has been punted so far away constantly in that first game, was because a holy wand hit them while they were within garlic. Overall, the high RoF of holy wand and the fact it targets closest, combines to make it really hard for stuff to approach (only the king bible ultimate really competes in knockback). The axes are good in how they knockback everything, but kinda low rof. Every other build (daggers, swords, etc., although swords kinda work too because of their size and rof) pretty much requires you to move more than minimally, following the projectiles (where only the daggers really synergize with garlic, giving you the ability to walk straight and everything is pushed aside (but rare few things still come in from the sides at angles that lets them touch you, so that strat requires laurel) edit: also, that lag at the end is pretty much a non-issue if you just disable damage notifications

Best build is skeleton with upgraded bible, wand, fire stick, birds, then the duplicator and a bracer, and once you get the birds, upgraded axe. You prioritize either the Bible, fire stick, or magic wand first while looking for passives to match the upgrades you want, and once you evolve one, you evolve the other two, put birds for the second to last synergy to keep room for both of them (don’t take axe until you synergize the birds) and try and have the extra projectile powerup you buy in the main menu; with skeleton, that powerup, and the duplicator, it provides the max amount of projectiles in the game. If you want everything to die before they get on-screen, like you said, the Runetracer is the weapon for you. Combine Runetracer and the Bone weapon along with size, duration, speed, cooldown reduction, damage, or the duplicator and you have a combo that will have boss chests spawning off-screen. Funnily enough, neither of them have an evolution yet, though neither of them need one.

Hey DF... I got this game because I saw you play it a couple of days ago... here's some crucial tips... on the top left of your screen when you level up, you can see the progress of your weapon upgrades. You can also see this if you press Escape and pause the game... Each main weapon has a corresponding support item that you need to have in order to evolve the weapon to its upgraded form... these are - Whip + Hollow Heart; Fire Wand + Spinach; Magic Wand + Empty Tome; Cross + Clover; Knife + Bracer; Axe + Candelabrador; King Bible + Spellbinder; Garlic + Pummarola; Santa Water + Attractaorb... The chests can only upgrade what you already have, new items can only be got by upgrading your level through gem collection... ultimately you want to get as much gold as you can from chests and braziers so that you can buy permanent character upgrades on the main screen... you also need gold to unlock characters, who are usually found by completing various item level requirements...
0:38 "Peachone" is word pun of Piccione (italian for "pidgeon") [peech-òh-néh]. nearly everything in this game is an italian pun. Like the unlockable skeleton called "mortaccio" (some Roman dialect's slur)
the peacheone is really hard to actually evolve you have to first get it to level 8 to unlock the counterpart ebony wings then in the same run you have to get both of them get them both to level 8 and then they combine into a rainbow bird that does what you would expect it effectively combines what the two separate weapons did and does more damage this also opens up a weapon slot because the two weapons combined.
evolving the peachone + ebony wings is just so good, dont sleep on it. vandalier is the highest dps weapon ive used in this game. la borra (evolved santa water) takes second imo.
As a hint to get a evolved weapon you need a max level weapon and a specific item. E.g. The axe requires the candelabrador and the peachone with ebony wings.
my favorite build is king bible, garlic, axe, fire wand, magic wand, and santa water. If you use it on Dommario (Whom you can unlock by obtaining 5k gold in a single level) you become pretty much invincible.
While I watched the video, I had a morbid thought. What if all those you were killing weren’t monsters, but normal humans, and whenever you were surrounded, was an army trying to stop you. So in reality you were the monster and the evil in the game
Read the tooltips; they're saying important things. E.g. evolving your fire wand requires spinach. Weapons only go to level 8, then if you have the right matched item, you can evolve it. So picking up a crown means giving up a slot that could be used for evolving something.
DF, once you get tired of the normal gameplay, if you hack to kill the reaper it unlocks a hidden character with randomized stats. (assuming the dev hasn't removed it)
So based on observations, there's a max limit on different upgrades you can get, which seems to be 12. This means with the right combos you could have a max of 6 ultimate attacks at once.
6 upgrades, 6 weapons. You can't fill a slot with an upgrade if you have a free weapon slot, and vice versa. Also, in the library level if you're prudent enough, you can get a total of 8 upgrades; but you need to avoid taking both the Tome and the Stone Mask until you're at 6 upgrades, and then traveling to both the far left and the far right of the Library, where you can find the Tome and the Mask, respectively. (It's a niche build though.)
The game is fun to experiment with, but one tip I have comes from the developer who said that the ideal number of weapons you'll have in use is 3-4, with the rest of your major slots being upgrades or utility weapons.
Btw if you get the peachone and the ebony wings to level 8 they combine to create they vendalier giving you an evolved weapon while also freeing up another weapon slot that was previously used by one of the birds as the two weapons combine into 1
Hyper mode is where the real fun is at! It seems fast at first but you'll never go back to normal mode once you get used to it. Try the upgraded Santa water while having duration/cooldown/area, it gets pretty ridiculous - it's usually #1 or #2 in terms of damage/dps
Death has like tens of millions of hit points. If you do manage to kill him, you unlock MissingNO. He's a playable death that has random stats every time you load the character select screen.
Not only did the vandalier deal 5 mil damage, the most out of any weapon you had, but it dealt that in only 6 minutes, a mere THIRD of the time you had the ultimate axes
no, you really shouldnt 'always' take the crown. its very easy to get to like level 90-100 without it, and levels stop mattering after 60 when you cap everything out. its a wasted accessory
@@wes4522 MissingNo's name is a reference to Pokemon, you unlock him by killing death. He has WILDLY randomized stats (think between -300% to +300% in most categories) which can be rerolled by going back to the menu from character select. He starts with either the axe or the scythes, if he starts with the scythes you can pick up the axe as well but you can't evolve it. Killing death is very difficult to do legitimately; his health and life regen are based on your character level, if you go above 60 he's functionally unkillable without cheating. As it is the only way I've seen it done is by using Mortaccio with the clock lancet to keep death frozen in one of those little boxes of vegetation while you have bones and runetracers bouncing around hitting him many times a second; even then you really need to get him killed within a minute so the second one doesn't spawn and just come and murder you. Most people just edit the game files to give a weapon ridiculously high damage to one-shot him, then quit the run for the unlock. Then they change the game files back, of course.
As a couple people have said already, you need certain items paired with certain weapons in order to get the evolved form of those weapons. All the ones I can think of off the dome: King Bible + Spellbinder Axe + Candelabrador Magic Wand + Empty Tome Spinach + Fire Wand Garlic + Pummarola Whip + Hollow Heart Peachone + Ebony Wings (two weapons that combine into one when evolved) Santa Water + Attractorb Knife + Bracer I thiiiink those are all the ones released so far. Yall can correct me/add to the list as you see fit lol.
Oh also, the windfall of xp you got at around the 13 minute mark was because the game eventually combines all the blue+green gems in an area into one GIANT red one if they sit around for long enough.
If you have multiple lives at the end when the Reaper comes, you can get even more and more coins by dying to him and reviving. The upgrade for the garlic has a HUGE area and can regenerate health as enemies die in it. Also: In the Library, if you move to the left enough to find the mask pickup (Increase Gold), then just hang around until you have 6 other accessories, you can then pick up the mask for a seventh accessory and level it up as normal.
30 minutes is currently the max and that grim reaper at the end is meant to auto kill you. If you do last long enough once the grim reaper spawns more of them will show up to kill you. The game dev is working on an infinite version though.

I bought this game thanks to you, actually really enjoy your commentary too gj!!
The game is fun to experiment with, but one tip I have comes from the developer who said that the ideal number of weapons you'll have in use is 3-4, with the rest of your major slots being upgrades or utility weapons.
"idek what this dove is doing" *dove precedes to transform into a rapid fire war plane*
Btw if you get the peachone and the ebony wings to level 8 they combine to create they vendalier giving you an evolved weapon while also freeing up another weapon slot that was previously used by one of the birds as the two weapons combine into 1
6:22, lol, said after this frame of how healing was off screen. Its in front of you! :O
Is that legit? I didn't anything like that in the achievements...
"Aaaaand we're back to errotic whipping in the park" -DF
It didn't look fun initially, but I want more now. Give me more df. MORE
3 weapon away to max upgrade all weapon in the game, Santa water, knife and king bible, can't wait for the next video!
Not only did the vandalier deal 5 mil damage, the most out of any weapon you had, but it dealt that in only 6 minutes, a mere THIRD of the time you had the ultimate axes
You should always take the crown it’ll make you level up waaaay faster in the long run
no, you really shouldnt 'always' take the crown. its very easy to get to like level 90-100 without it, and levels stop mattering after 60 when you cap everything out. its a wasted accessory
@@Riftweaver1981 Yeah... you get exp from killing monsters... and there sure ain't no shortage of THOSE!!!
this has proved that the zappy bird is official the temporary ruler of damage in this game. Cause we all know DF will beat it by a mile next time.
While I was playing this earlier, I was thinking about the fact that Luck in video games is about removing the need for luck.
I am so happy you played this game, I and it because of you and now I just need to get 5000 coins to unlock everything
It's just so funny to me how many times the game tries to give you the evolved whip but you didn't realize it because it's a secret
Was odky satisfying to watch you upgrade everything
This game is beating AAA games. Bought it yesterday to support it. Will play today.
I absolutely love this series, even if it is just a $3 game lets play! 💖
You can play for free on the website
@@MultiLimpet Link?
Oh may, watching him skip over that hollow heart so many times was painful. Gotta get that super garlic.
peach-one or pea-chone? the great debate continues! pick your side here!
Missed your content man I hope everything is good man
Saw the game in the last video. Tried it. Addicted now. 🤣
me: first time bought gennard* hours later* I AM DIO I WILL THROW INFINTE KNIFES AT YOU
Thank you for once again introducing a game that I am going to spend way too much time with!
What is the game called
I WANT MORE OF THIS SERIES PLEASE
Max weapon level is 8 and you need a specific passive for weapons in order to get the weapons evolved form from a chest
just wait until DF knows that all weaponds can become legendary
Played the shit out of this game. Even unlocked the missingno character by doing the whole changing game values thing.
I thought that was a Pokémon thing. I have no idea though, feel free to inform me!
Then they change the game files back, of course.
a quick tip the whip does damage i recommend other things also I reccomend using poe rancho he automatically gives garlic
As a couple people have said already, you need certain items paired with certain weapons in order to get the evolved form of those weapons. All the ones I can think of off the dome:
King Bible + Spellbinder
Axe + Candelabrador
Magic Wand + Empty Tome
Spinach + Fire Wand
Garlic + Pummarola
Whip + Hollow Heart
Peachone + Ebony Wings (two weapons that combine into one when evolved)
Santa Water + Attractorb
Knife + Bracer
I thiiiink those are all the ones released so far. Yall can correct me/add to the list as you see fit lol.
Oh also, the windfall of xp you got at around the 13 minute mark was because the game eventually combines all the blue+green gems in an area into one GIANT red one if they sit around for long enough.
Yaaaaay! I wanted more of this! Thanks DF!
