Hello, first of all I wish you a Happy New Year! 🥳 Nice unboxing, I haven't watched the anime yet, let's see if I'll watch it at all, but just by the way. Are the extras in anime and manga very important to you personally, or is it just the nice to have feeling? For my part, I don't collect that many anime anymore and when I do, it's mostly retro anime. Which are now gradually coming to us in Germany. I know that there are a lot more anime in the English-speaking world, even in the retro segment. After watching your videos, I guess you're more of a fan of the new/seasonal anime, am I right? Greetings from Germany Kuro ✌
Hey! Happy New Year to you too. It has been quite some time since we last talked! Some extras are find quite useful to have, especially bookmarks. And I like frames or artworks on canvases. But many of them is as you've said, they're nice to have. Yeah 😅These days I am going for the new and seasonal anime / manga, mostly. But I have bookmarked some older anime / manga titles that I am very keen on getting. I don't know if we can consider them retro, or maybe they have become one lol
@@erzat Yes, it's been a while since we wrote. 🤗 Bookmarks, slipcases for manga, if it fits, and shikishis are my favorite manga extras. And with anime, if there are several volumes, it's slipcases and possibly booklets, but with interviews with the creators, staff, authors, cast and crew. I don't need booklets with character and episode guides as much. When it comes to packaging, I usually prefer the normal Blu cases to a digipack, mediabook or steelbook/cases, although these are very popular for films. If it offers added value at no extra cost, I also like extras. I also watch season anime, but for the most part (also because the licenses in Germany are not so quick to release on disc) I buy fewer new anime on Blu-ray. I tend to buy older DVD only anime. Or updates from DVD to Blu-ray. My favorites among retro anime are the OVA from the 80's & 90's but I also like older TV series from time to time.
@@kuro-1980 Yeah, I love booklets that come with interviews and artworks. I think I forgot to mention this too, but I like storyboards a lot lol I find them really cool. I guess we are on the same boat with that. All the extra goodies with no additional costs are always welcome! True, the releases are slow. Even in Japan, you don't get the releases that fast. It'll be months after broadcast has ended before we can have a complete set of volumes. I haven't gone as far as the 80s and 90s. Right now, I have mostly bookmarked those in the 2000s. Trying to get a hold of the anime I watched as a child 😥
@@erzat Yes, exactly, those would be highlights for me too. Apart from the booklets with info and the slipcase, I don't usually need any extras. Here in Germany, there are publishers where you have to pay a bit more for goodies, but some are included in the price. It depends on the publisher and the licensor, of course, what you can and can't do. And I thought it was quicker in Japan because they still stick to the volume system? Which in my opinion is completely outdated. Unfortunately, it still exists here too. There's rarely a complete one at the beginning. Yes, my early days of anime were the 80's 90's and a little from the 00's Jenne but by far not everything that came out back then. I do watch season anime from time to time, as I've already mentioned, but so far I'm less interested in those titles and we don't get everything on disc. When are you going to make a collection video? A lot has accumulated over the years... I don't think I'm alone with this question. Otherwise, it's always nice to see what you unpack. All the best for the future!
@@kuro-1980 Very interesting! I guess they each cater to the market when it comes to the overall packaging of a product. I agree, I feel like a one shot release would be good. I do see some new titles that receive to volumes / or a single complete volume released these days. Maybe the distributors are catching on to the trend. Not for Aniplex though. Most of their products are volumes based. Well, it is a bit of a mess right now haha I have so many upgrades I need to do before I can do a proper video of my collection. If I do it now, I won't feel good about it. Thank you for the support as always!!
@@erzat And we Germans usually get a collector's slipcase with hype anime, which is of course limited to a limited number, but the extras are now often skimped on.
Amazing ❤, I love the series

does it not come with a box to hold all volumes?
Unfortunately, this edition doesn't come with one 🥲
