- Swami Rama commentary on Ishopanishad, Lecture 1 of 7. The Ishopanishad has 18 verses, is one of the shortest of the Upanishads, and is also one of the most profound. Swami Rama's commentary emphasizes practical instruction on the path of Self-realization.
I consider him as one of my gurus.l have learnt a great deal from his videos.The adverse things we read about him have no significance.He was a true yogi and he was generous in sharing his knowledge.

firs of all i told u that he is the greatest person in that century. he explain every thing which we want to know for get enlightenment.but real knowledge he never told to any one because he never seen any one capable for that knowledge. he always told about gross level never explain properly about the subtle level. that level is beyond the gross level which we find in mediation.but we not get any thing beyond gross level.why that technique is different, but which he explain his book but never explain to any one. if u read all is book and collaborate is book guidance then u little bit seen glimpse of his real knowledge.
dharna, dyana and samadhi is a very unique practice but if any one told me about is real meaning i think he is a greatest person in this earth. think about that.

RIP may not be an appropriate choice of words for him, who attended unity with universal Truth, while he was in this body. And during this time, he had evolved beyond body, so had stopped being affected by common worldly ailments which might cause sorrow, pain, misery. He was in state of permanent happiness already. Now that he has left this body and even when he was alive he was beyond the body, so there is nothing to be called as Rest in Peace,as this is used for people who are burried after they die, even if someone whose body has to be burried but had evolved and went beyond then RIP may not apply there too.

19:43 That is exactly the bs in christian religion : I was myself a very devoted christian but the terror it created in me was so great I ended up creating aversion toward the whole religion , because more over I never could understand anything appart from just loving God. Safe to say my idea of God changed shape and became what new era ppl call the Universe and my love and faith remained intact, but the religion traumatized me and even affected my mentality toward sex in a very deep subconscious level, because if something the church was very successful at was putting in our mind (I was 13yo) the feeling that sex was a sinful act, or so my lil childish brain interpreted so. Christian, learn 10 years course for Bishop,has 8 subjects on Sanskrit scriptures, about Hindu Metaphysics,only 2 sub.on christianity, hence the person destorts the Hindu Dhrama & steal good things of Hinduism as if biblical,which you say is in christianity. Why don't Christians go beyond 2000 years,Hindu culture is far old since time immemorabl . nature's rule was same before christianity Gravity,Universal arrangement Which is precisely quted in the 4 VEDAS certified by NASA .

Nowadays we don't want to tread the righteous path not because we are not aware of it but because we were never trained for it.The intuitive ness compels the mind to forgo and believe the divinity but the bondage is too strong.

Upnishad means- The knowledge given to disciples by their master.
I consider him to be the Greatest modern-days Teacher from India in front of Audience. Despite of whatever has been said about him as a person in private. Teacher's job I-S to teach and this Swami Rama does better (not competitively) than others. Even if he were a demon I maintain this view, don't ask why. He left INDELIBLE impression and traces. This is my subjective opinion.
A good Spiritual Teacher is more valuable to a sincere student than any fame, gold or money world can offer combined.
i would strongly suggest to keep focusing on the heart , for that is the gateway , the mind is too serve the heart, this is the choice always and the great masters knew that this is the pathway to higher being !May love be our guide , Love to all that is

I am gald that I found Yoga , and during this time when I am dealing with my fear and understanding what is happening. Yoga free my mind , and without the extra drama I created for myself , the changes is happening. Working in process , and just a matter of time. The guilt and blames are what created most fears for me , and I am glad through my accidental discovery on the changes of my breath questions me to seek Yoga for answer. Without a real guru , the practise of Yoga is very limited. I will review the buddhist teaching again , and hope to understand the true meaning of Buddha's teaching. I am sincerely greatful.

@@mystickal6342Fear still knocks on my door time to time , epecially when I start to lose the management of my life. I am glad to learn so much from Swami Rama , and this might sound strange , I am still learning from his teaching as I understand deeper about life.
It's been a long year for me , but I am glad I understand more about fear than I thought. Looking back at this previous comment , I could really see how I am a stranger to fear. Fear is not a bad thing or a good thing , although it seems to be in that way. Sorry if I am circling around here for a little. Fear is now like a friend to me , and I am always happy when a friend visit.
I wish I could say more , but I guess words are really not enough to really explain about life.

Instead of elaborating on the ancient nature and the background of the Upanishads,it would be more useful if the lecturer right away goes to the text of the upanishad and offer interpretation and explanation
