Im absolutely not hating but just giving feedback: always use brake cleaner first. Even before wire brushing. When you wire brush, you create small tiny scratches for the paint to latch on. If the surface is dirty, this dirt will get into those scratches and the paint will come off sooner or later. After cleaning and then wire brushing, you use a primer to make the paint adhere better!! This way the paint will also stick better and not come off in 2-3 years. Lastly, use a clearcloat!!
I just watched this to have a little look on how others are painting theirs, before I paint my own. I totally agree, I would also add that heat paint would be going that extra mile also, so that the job will hold up a lot longer and keep it looking fresh for longer. But I would like to ask, can you get heat resistant clear coat? Sorry if it’s a stupid question lmao, I just genuinely have no clue?
Oh man that is a dream , I have a manual so unfortunately will need to swap out a lot of extra components if I was to do the same. I am planning an engine swap to a 1.8 in the future might need to think about paddle shift for the swap.

Definitely change the wheel caps to the same colour. Black is boring. I have pink calipers with pink VW logo wheel caps, never seen another car like it and I always get people looking
Definitely on the list, I need to service the polo first. I also need new engine mounts. Will definitely get stage 1 remap after the engine mounts are replaced. After stage 3 engine swap to 1.8t engine is looking like a fun idea😂

Yes it is a sticker i made when painting the rims, I'll have to try and order some blue vynil that is the same as the brake callipers and re-do the stickers. I peeled one sticker off yesterday and looks off with the blacked out caps.
Okay perfect thank you for the knowledge, I'll make a video in 6 months time to see how they last, they will mostlikely have some chips so I'll need to try your suggestion. Heatprimer then the top coat , I'll also remove the callipers would be something different from all the other videos out there.
I am planning on making a sound deadener video in the near future, one of my friends have purchased an off brand sound deadener for his ranger, we will give it a go and see how it works. Thank you for the video idea

@russelblackwell6041 Yes we will be filming the video by the end of this month. It is 4m rolls from underdog soundproofing, for the inside of the cabin. The roof doors and floors. But not entirely sure if my mate wants to pull the oem floor ones out and install the new deadener or stick it over the top. We will have to see how it turns out. Are you planning on using sound deadener on your car
Thank you I appreciate the support and the comment. I'll be adding some more blue accents once the body/ appearance of the car is all up to shape. I'm looking forward to adding blue accents to the car when we do performance mods. Especially a blue logo on an intercooler upgrade would look amazing.

I agree big especially on my wheels I have noticed the importance of a primer and a good clearcoat

Thats a really good return how much did it cost you for a remap? What price range am I looking at ?

Great job man!, Regarding the wheel caps, that blue color it is a cover sticker which you need to peel it off, it is not a standard sticker!

do it properly unbolt them and hang them to paint that paint wont last without a heat primer just chips away
