Yeah. Wish I'd bought one of these kits rather than my $3k Tama Starclassic kit. Think of the cash I'd have had for Constantinoples!

How does it compare to your Catalina kit? Gretsch says they revised it when they went with the round badges. I'm wondering how big of a difference it is compared to the square badge kits? By the way, the snare tuning is fantastic!! Best sounding Catalina snare on you tube! Thanks for posting.

Ordered this kit with a 20" bass drum this weekend. Can't wait to get it. The color is what got my attention.. The sound is what sold me.

gosgood1973 yes it’s absolutely amazing. Changed the snare out for a ludwig supraphonic though.

It looks better in person. During MPAs for my school band i saw a floor tom of these sets out in the sun and it looked so beautiful

This is basically a deal of the century. You’re getting real Gretsch drums for just a fraction of the cost. The only thing is that the metal hardware is not as sturdy as the more expensive models but for me it doesn’t matter since I only use them in the studio

Great playing on a great little set. I have two sets of these and have been playing since the 1960 era. I am seventh now and these will sound so big to be so small.

Gretsch Catalina Club. The workhorse of Swing Jazz!!! There are hundreds of different "Bop" kits out there, but from practice and rehearsal all the way to live shows and recordings, no other drum set is used to play Swing Jazz as much as the Catalina Club Jazz kit.

if is used so much maybe that is primarily a sign that is not the best but the cheapest to get away with to get an average sound the club audiences that also are Not drummers accept and you can get away cheaply by?

Is that the way you wanted it to sound? We all have different preferences just curious. It’s a bit open and airy for my taste but I have zero doubt that a change of heads would give the sound I’m interested in. Regardless amazing playing and gorgeous kit.
