I think this video is great. The fact that you had no clue where you were going was awesome. I also enjoyed seeing that little airport. Thanks so much for sharing.
Fantastic trip, the winding roads, small towns, and wow I love to fly, I have been in Dallas airport before. My mother lives in Texas, I have flown to San Antonio many times, there were stops in Dallas , mighty big airport. Your videos are so clear, just as if I were in the car with you. Your 70 year old tag along sure enjoyed another trip with you. By the way, my mother is 90, she exercises every morning for an hour, when I visit her I just sit and watch her, no way I could keep up with her. 😎
I was born and raised in Eastern Ks, Garnett, now i live in Shasta County north of where you were in this video but I am so familiar with this ...was pretty cool watching some of these roads i have been on and some not, I am a back road traveler too!
What a great trip from start to finish! The last day's adventures was the cherry (not sour!) on top. Love those winding roads and small towns. Glad you had a great, safe trip dear. I enjoyed following along. Now, on to the next adventures! Stay safe and GOD bless
I enjoyed this series very much. Planning future RV trips and this is one I want to take. Thank you so much for the positive perspective on the road from Yolo to Santa Rosa! California is my home state. Those tan rolling hills turn into beautiful lush green come spring. Looking forward to the eastern half of Hwy 50 :)
Wow John, I'm impressed by what we saw in California, looked like lots of almond trees too. Like you said it was a very scenic route with lots of interesting settlements on the way. Esparto is actually a type of grass as you referred to in its names meaning (sorry, I still have a farmers head). It's an area where I could have settled when I was younger although I'm not sure if I could have lived with California's politics. Great surprise video John and pleased it did not seem like 'work' to you and you enjoyed it. Thank you mate! Incidentally, you were wearing a Fijian rugby support shirt..... England beat them just today in the quarter final of the Rugby Union world cup, a really hard fought match!
Fun ride!! Yolo....very fitting!😁 I dont really understand why some towns change names.....seems like once it's named, it should stay. 😊 Anyway...enjoyed this trip, and loved the Schultz airport! ❤ Keep up the good work!😀
Great video to conclude a great road trip. I use the DeLorme maps too when I travel off the beaten path & they’re very handy. Have you ever thought about a US 60 road trip? You could start or finish down around Ponca City. I’ve been there as well as the starting point in Tidewater VA.
That is my kind of road trip. back roads off the main highways. I often wonder about the small communities that I pass through and the history of them. Have you thought of going to the east coast?
Thank you! I’m from Ohio so I’ve been all over the east coast but it’s not too convenient to Kansas where I’m at now. However, I’m gonna be in Florida over the holidays so there might be some Southeast stuff in the near future 😊
@@TravelwithaWiseguy you mentioned that you are going to Iowa soon. Will you go north into Minnesota? I am looking forward to seeing your next adventures.
Boy howdy, even though I'd not gone the way you did, I sure enjoyed this part of California. I'm glad I came across this video trip, as it was so beautiful. Thank you for the trip. The airport sure was interesting and I would've looked around. Happy trails to you and God bless.
Ha! Wise: Bonus day. Where am I going to venture? (Grabs Atlas) No, too populated of a stretch. Hmm. Yeah, but starts veering off in the wrong direction. What the hell, Yolo? $#@&, you only live once anyway. (Grabs phone and starts intro) The scenario could have happened.
That was a awesome trip, very interesting. California has so much beautiful country, out away from the big city. Too bad the state is eat up with liberal politics. Thanks for Sharing. 😊
Most people don't have any idea how beautiful that area of California is.
I think this video is great. The fact that you had no clue where you were going was awesome. I also enjoyed seeing that little airport. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks so much! I love the small airports 😊
I ALSO LOVE THE DELORME MAPS!!!
WISH I HAD ALL THE STATES AND CANADA ONES!!
Me too! I’m about halfway there 😂😂
I really do like your videos. A great combo of narration, images, bird's view. Great job!
Thank you very much!

So cool! It was a beautiful and fun random trip!
Lots of varied terrain on this trip. Did also wonder about the tree farms. The best part for me was the end from Schultz Airport to the animals. 😁
It seems like back roads always lead to interesting places that most people never get to see. Thanks for the video.
They always seem to! Thanks for watching!
Another great video, John. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Many thanks!
Neat .Beautiful scenery & mtns. Roads. Great drone shots.
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Yo, man what a beautiful drive. Good choice, looking forward to the next series
Thanks a ton!
What a fun day - thank you. I used to go down small roads when we were on a driving trip.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Thanks for taking us with you. Love your road trips.
My pleasure!
Hi john thanks for the tour some beautiful old buildings along the way . Cheers mate🇦🇺
Thanks Peter!

Another epic adventure love the ride alongs I think traveling the back roads are best have a great one be safe
You got that right! Thanks!
Great video, brings back a lot of memories for me. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I lived in Yolo from September 2000 to July 2023 I miss it everyday.
Very cool town 😎

California has so many interesting rural areas to explore. I’d love to come back and spend a lot more time. Enjoy your trips!
That part of California is gorgeous! Never been west of Albuquerque and I probably need to change that. 😂
California has so many interesting, beautiful, and unique places!
Enjoyed this tour of cali.
Thank you!!
What a beautiful drive!!
Yes it was!
I would have taken the squiggly road over the mountains.
Great little adventure day. Thanks for sharing.
I’m kicking myself for not doing it 😂
I always try to imagine what areas would have looked like 170 years ago when there were no squiggly roads. Californiastan is a nice place to "visit".
😊
Let's fallow the YOLO brick road..where you go we go 🚶♂️ 😅
😂😂
Alan and I vote you made a great choice on how to get to Santa Rosa!! Really enjoyed this!! 🤩😍
Thanks! Tell Alan I said hi!
I like how you did this one. Very nice/very many options, that you could have taken. But, I also like the longer videos as well. Be good, be safe !!
Awesome, thank you!
Local Wichitan here, I want to say thank you for your portrayal of Kansas. There is a channel that is not so friendly to the local hayseeds
I really appreciate that! I don’t like it when they’re not friendly either - usually from ignorance.
Went to Wichita from Hiawatha to see a patent attorney late 70’s.I have a soft spot in my heart for Hiawatha. Enjoyed the way you went in this video.
Thank you 😊

Nice! Thanks for the Esparto trivia! It definitely didn’t feel like work haha. I bought that shirt while in Fiji - seemed like the thing to do there!
I liked your tour of California.
Thank you 😊
Now your almost in my area of California. My grandparents use to live in Santa Rosa. Go to Sebastopol and enjoy a gravenstein apple.
Next time!
Fun ride!! Yolo....very fitting!😁

Thank you! Sometimes there are legitimate reasons for a name change but then others are for ego I think 😊

Great summer road trip, how about US Rt 20 next year!❤❤
Would love to! although I think I already know next year’s. 😊
Welcome to my home state of California!

@@lauriecrowsey3171 Not quite, although I was only a few miles from MN visiting one of the places in an upcoming video.
We were just talking about the lack of paper maps (atlases) available today.
Love paper maps!!
Wow. You drove some less-known and less-traveled roads.
You know you're in California when you're driving in super small towns and you see a Lamborghini driving down the street.
😂😂😂
Great video brother! When u posting the 10 smallest Iowa towns video?
Thanks! I’m currently in Iowa filming it so probably sometime in November.
@@TravelwithaWiseguy Ok! Are u in Iowa at this moment? I know Le Roy and Beaconsfield are both going to be in the list.

It was a fun little random road trip! The airport was very cool!
What were those groves of trees? Almonds?
Not sure 🤷🏼♂️
Love this part of the story....what month was it?
Thanks! It was late July.
Did you help snoopy look for the red Barron?
Haha yes! Didn’t find him 🤷🏼♂️
So do the folks at Charlies airport work for Peanuts, Llama bet those animals would have loved a carrot or two. Nice conclusion for the series
😂😂 thanks 😊
Was that a real geyser or just a water pump powered fountain?
Yes it’s real!
Ha!

It’s pretty much exactly how it happened 😂 I was only going to go to Yolo when the day started. 😊

Not as much as I used to be 😂😂

I agree so many cool things to see in California. Hopefully it can stay that way for a long time!
Old Gizzer looks liks it was man made.
If you think Sonoma County Airport is small now, you should’ve been here 10 years ago when it was practically nothing
Would’ve loved to have seen that!
