      I just look for broken tees in the tee box and use them or if not on a par 3 I’ll put it in my pocket

    Alex, that was good, basic info on the tee heights. The use of the foam noodle to illustrate WHY it works is brilliant. Well done.

    Brilliant, Alex. This is such a critical component of managing your tee shot and is often overlooked. Most amateurs tee it up too high with irons and woods leading to poor strikes. Even with driver, I would rather tee it low with a shallow angle of attack to neutralize launch. Great stuff. Keep up the good work!

    AEG, I came very close to not watching this video .. I thought .. I've been hitting correct tee heights for years .. but I thought.. give it a chance. And everything you said, I agreed with .. then you brought out the pool noodle. And I had a eureka! moment. Because my arms are shorter, on really fast swings the club head comes inside quickly promoting a fade/slice .. the pool noodle doesn't just go straight through and straight back .. the arc actually goes slightly inside to square to inside so I have to match my distance to the ball with the impact point to get a draw/straight/fade shot! A eureka! moment. Thanks.

    good stuff.... typically only hit 54WPW/9i off a tee.... on PAR3s @ same tee height (1-finger) for best results. Rarely not using a tee. When using a 3/4/5H off tee, use a similar height.... just let the club do the work ;). Driver usually tee height where the ball is a bit higher than the club head.... or higher for wide open fairways.

    Excellent as always. I am driving with the orange castle as it seems to give me more confidence when striking the ball. Can you do a session on hitting hybrids off the fairways as I really struggle with this

    With an iron, I to use a broken tee, or I some times have a couple of short tees, Callaway, I have had them for a couple of years! Plastic with a rubber rim, they last for ever. For my driver and fairway woods I often use brush Tee's. They last for ever as well.

  • @spectreracing1

    Broken tee superstition! It’s my good luck ritual since my teen years for when my game starts to suffer. I look at it as the broken and used have a story, just like me. I see the value in others experiences. For irons, I’m usually right off the deck.

  • @josephdubiel7129
    @josephdubiel7129 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So are we looking for a one finger height for hybrids as well? I assume so.

  • @kbrown4ou
    @kbrown4ou ปีที่แล้ว

    I refuse to use a tee that’s already in the ground. Like one pressed low someone has already used for an iron shot. If it’s too close to where I want to tee off I’ll pull it out and use a new tee or any other broken tee laying around. I suppose given that the tee has survived I imagine it has already used up the one good shot a tee possesses.

  • @petermolyneux9544

    No superstitions, though I do use broken tees sometimes. Just because I'm tight fisted! Otherwise it's castle tees for consistency. Red for irons and hybrids, blue for fairway woods and pink for driver. I have hundreds of them but have never bought one in my life! Talking about tight, I once found a pink tee from which the point had broken. Someone had gone to the trouble of drilling it and putting in the point of a broken wooden one!

      I knew a guy now passed away who use to play Golf on Sunday with us and collect broken tees
      Next week he would arrive at golf and they would be glued together have nails I them whatever he could to cobble some more life in to them
      The amount of time he would have spent was insane on it
      He even refused to accept offers of tees so he wouldn't have to
      Tight arse to the day he died

  • @_dboy_
    @_dboy_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I normally use a broken tee for irons too, but I've been using the plastic ones that have one of 2 lengths, one for driver and one for irons. But if there's one sitting there I always use it. Why risk losing or breaking a perfectly good tee. 😂

    Actually I do have two rules about tees, always use plastic unbreakable tees and never ever bye tees. It sounds strange but I have not purchase any tees over the last 10 years starting pretty much with brush tees and following the set of three purchased all others were found on various tee boxes around the US.

    I won't use one of my top quality balls if I go to the first tee box without any warm-up. The problem comes if I make a birdie or par with that ball. The superstitious part of me won't let me change balls until I make bogey or worse

    For me it’s bad luck using a tee that I find, I think the player who used it hit a bad shot and blamed the tee.
    I use a short tee for irons and a Nike white black striped tee my brother gave me, I have to start and finish the round with the same tee.
    Crazy no? Lol I can’t help it

    Hi Alex
    My superstition is that I will never play a single shot with anyone else’s ball I find regardless of condition or make as I think if they have lost it then I will do the same. I will only ever play with a ball I have bought myself! Found balls are only ever used on the range before I actually play.

    • @kbrown4ou

      Wise practice. I once found a shiny Pro V1 in the trees (about the 14th hole); so played it the rest of the round. After the round I finally noticed the Pro V1 had what looked like a factory defect, a pimple-like bump in one spot. Doubt it affected flight much but no telling what it did to my putts.

  • @robertacierno2803
    @robertacierno2803 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Same exact superstition. If I’m hitting iron, I must find a broken tee. And if there isn’t one, I snap a long one. Why snap a long one and not just put it all the way in the ground?? Cause we’re strange people, Alex. 😂
