Been past Futurescope a few times. Weird shaped buildings. Have heard its very good to visit. I think it was built way back in the 1980s, and looking at what the future of buildings will look like. But not sure. I think I heard that children will love the place. When we towed our folding camper (and later a caravan), we got ourselves a Liber T tag, and would use the HGV lane as the camper was wider than for the car lanes, and it was brilliant. Just drive through, very slowly, then ping, barrier went up and on our way. I remember Salamanca in the tv series Sharpe, about the Napoleonic Wars. There was a battle there

Really enjoying your videos and the commentaries. Must take a lot of patience to be a truck driver, especially when going through so many countries with so many different laws. I've been driving from Scotland to France for 27 years now, holidaying mostly in the south west. The myth is that French driving is horrendous but to be honest I find nowadays that the standard of driving in the UK is far worse. Would love to be able to afford to take a longer time off (maybe a retirement plan!) and travel through some other countries you've worked in as some of the scenery you've shown on your videos is incredible. Also like the way you explain a lot of things as it must be a big help to those who are thinking of driving abroad for the first time. Been to Futuroscope a few times, with the kids when they were younger, then again just for us adults as it's just as much fun! Definitely recommend a visit, but try and avoid peak French school holiday times if possible. Happy New Year to you, stay safe and look forward to your next video.
Hiya someone posted one of videos on a fridge drivers group so thought I'd have a look. European driving sounds alot more interesting but not gonna lie the idea also makes me a bit nervous lol. How does it compare to UK tramping? I did a bit of night out stuff early days and tbh teh truck stops are packed aren't they. Dont know how everyone manages to get parked up safely at night. I only did it a bit but maybe I need to do some UK tramping for real 🤔 good video. I'll keep watching :)
Futurescope is an interesting place to visit, made up of all sorts projected screen images and lighting design, 3D film shows, MAX Screen film shows, a celebration of all things cinematic.Also watched the Tour de France come past while we were there some years ago. I am always interested in your routes, so please advise your route Autoroutes or Routes Nationals through France. I have stopped on my way to Malaga many times at the Routiers at Castets, always great value meal stop, before the Foret de Landes and down to Irun/ Border. Great Vids, well done and very interesting.

Thanks for posting, did you go all the way on A10 to Bordeaux? I think the N10 past Angoulème is quicker and no tolls, but interested to know what you think.
We were on that road to Poitiers in September and the aire we stopped off at was very busy. We only just managed to park before the exit. Love these videos. I must book our France trip soon. We do Portsmouth to Caen.
We use that crossing a lot though our most frequent is the Eurotunnel due to its location & proximity to deliveries (after vet checks). The only reason I shipped that route was because I had rest hours that I had to make up before the weekend. Thanks for watching Gordon 👍🏽

Oh wow I haven't heard the name Parc Du Futuroscope since I went there on a school trip in the 90's! From what I remember, it's a sci-fi / technology based park and it featured a lot of top end cinema experiences, so was 3D at the time and I assume 4D now.
Are you allowed to keep the truck fridge on while on the ferry all night? I know it sounds a daft question, but was wondering with the fumes and everything if you do?
if you managed a unbroken 3hrs break customs the 9hr daily rest doesnt count as one of the 3 weeky 9hrs daily rest you can take as i understand it ,great video thanks.

Depends on time of day & if I need a restaurant or overnight stop tbh mate.

Hi buddy, not daft at all. You “book” an electric plug in on the boat so they swap the fridge over to electric. HNY mate.
