Kings of Leon in London, UK (December 5, 2003). 1. Wicker Chair 0:01 2. Red Morning Light 3:21 3. Happy Alone 6:29 Lyrics: lyrics.wikia.com/wiki/Kings_Of...
The band grew up. Got married. Started families. The music evolved and became more produced but still has a great commercial audience. I think the boys hate that but business is business. I would still go see them in a heartbeat. Its a beautiful war!
Amendment to previous comments. I perceived KOL's apparent lack of enthusiasm as disdain for the business but upon hearing more about how fans of their older work are bagging on the current work because of its commercial appeal, I realize they are just pissed off that the fan base is not willing to let them evolve as artists.
Robert LoBosco yeah really. Those "fans" are dicks who are trying to hold on to the past and are too ignorant to understand that even the best bands have to evolve at some point. Kings of Leon still make great music regardless of what those "fans" think.
THANK YOU. So many haters calling bands that go big sellouts, fake, extc. It's sickening. Times have change and so has their music. But their soul and passion for the sound has never faltered,
You couldn't be anymore right about that!! This is my favorite album by them this is the only album that just has that Jam boogie sound, the rest of their albums are that sentimental soppy shit pretty much I feel like they sold out and went all commercial you know like Use Somebody that said all I had to say right there!!! @minervachavez7225 2 thumbs 👍👍 up on your taste in music I too hail from the Commonwealth I see you're a miner I'm from Southwest Va to my knowledge that's about the only part that still has coal mines open and operating! I read your comment and thought he hit that nail right on the head he knows his shit I look over at your name and when I realized what it said I thought I be damned! I'm from Big Stone Gap
I used to watch your channel all the time because you had the best KOL videos.. I’m 22 years old now and thank you so much for this. Didn’t understand much of the lyrics in middle school but man thanks for this
only 5000 views? what is happening to the american culture. well thank you KOL for giving the american scene a reminder at one point that music could be played differently than on a turn table and could be really sung from the heart and the pants!!
I like how they grew up from those desperate wannabe indie rockstars to four full grown man playing beautiful and sad songs like adults. I know that phase was important to them, but thank God they evolved to what they are now. And if you're a hipster that can't see how better they become and how important their growth was to rock music, you're just childish.
I'm really hoping Kings and Black Keys, go back to thier roots. I just worked out for The Strokes. It's ok to adapt your sound, but don't lose your original sound, no? The first 2 albums were epic! New stuffs good , and made them rich, but this shit here, is where it's at!!!!!
All good bands evolve. Each of their records are so different but all great in their own way. It wouldn't be very exciting if they released youth and young manhood, youth and a little bit older manhood, etc, etc
Just because they've sophisticated their sound and their production is more HiFi opposed to lofi off the floor records, doesn't mean its a bad evolution
Sophisticating your production is not an issue. But the problem with their music evolution, if you will, is beyond that. I do understand that bands change, but I don't have to like what they've become.
People say they sold out with sex on,fuck off if it wasn't for that song I wud never even got to know these guys and the beautiful shit they created early on,amazing band end off😊😊❤❤❤
I understand that they’ve evolved. But that is the natural process of a band as they mature and grow in their musicianship. Besides sex on fire, use somebody, they’ve not made music for the masses. Through it all, they’ve kept their music real. It’s still really good, pure music, maybe not as ‘raw’ as it may have been, but nevertheless good.
Not that I don't love their new stuff, this is who I fell in love with. So amazing. Here in 2023
It's April about to be May 2022 and here I am, shit still slaps. Some of the best of the Kings.
D'accordo!

I think of k.o.l. as one of the last real rock n roll bands
Strokes too!
Also Radiohead and Green Day.
Hab sie über einen Freund, der in England gelebt hat kennengelernt und sie haben mich sofort in den Bann gerissen. Liebe sie bis heute
God they are such a good band. Just Raw and Real! His voice is so unique.

They have grown as musicians and as people ... They are great musicians and great people.

wicker chair omg love that fuking song
shame they never play it anymore, one of my all time favourites, one of their best lyrics wise, and Caleb's first song he wrote on a guitar.
It's my favorite song of theirs...they were on to something that they let go of in this era. Man, sometimes things come and go.
I like how they grew up from those desperate wannabe indie rockstars to four full grown man playing beautiful and sad songs like adults. Kieran Tuck All good band evolve. But there are good evolution and bad evolution...
True that.

13 years later and I still never thought a band from the south could be so pretentious. They’re good tho
