@edxlee 🤣🤣 that was my attempt at a Captain America color scheme. I now have a custom that makes Shaheen look like Robin now. It's probably my favorite one and suits the character very well! I use it on my streams all the time!
There's a couple things I forgot to mention: Stealth step manual input is df3+4. Stealth Step from moves like f2,4 or d3 are simply done by just pressing df after those moves.
I’ve literally just started learning Shaheen to help me become more fundamentally sound with my mains ( Feng & Paul ) I’ve found him pretty easy to pick up after just a couple of hours practice and I’m already quite comfortably racking up wins in the purple ranks… Pretty neat character and it’s nice to feel like your truly earning your wins…
Shaheen is a wonderful character! A lot of people think he's rather weak due to frames and neutral, but he is something that is wicked when you utilize him corrected
@@YT-FableKnight Totally agree - I don’t find his frames to be that bad or his neutral... The only struggle I find is that he’s quite weak under pressure because he has no evasive gimmicks or quick panic moves... B3+4 is good for getting out of pressure but aside from that you have to rely on blocking & sidestepping.
@@Skeksi_Man yeah unfortunately Shaheen suffers from having no good defensive options except to capitalize on movement. So you have to condition your opponent for the mix up, or suffer getting in constant blockstun of pressure.
this was by far the BEST Shaheen guide on the tube.. not too many videos for our boy Shaheen unfortunately, but yours is great with all the examples and mixups etc.!
You are very welcome! And thank you man! I appreciate that compliment! I plan to make more character guides on characters I know as well. I also have a few more Shaheen videos in the pipeline. Thank you again!
The people who stuck with Shaheen in T7 are getting rewarded HEAVILY for their loyalty. I still can't completely wrap my head around the fact that he is largely the same in how he operated in 7, but now has a LEGITIMATELY SCARY STANCE MIX. This would not happen in any Tekken besides 8. Whats even crazier is that he is pretty tame in comparison to other chars on the roster, but in any other game he would very likely be top 5/S Teir no contest (in my opinion of course). Shaheen main or not, you should definitely give this fella a moment of your time. HE IS SO MUCH FUN AND IS DUMMY STRONG!
Shaheen compared to the rest of the roster is a really honest character. You can't really mash or abuse stuff with him. You can to play very patient and find your openings. That is exactly why I really liked him.
What made him stronger is he is armor move in Tekken 7 Was forward 4 Now it is backward 4 it just is a nice switch for the character being able to deal with high middle high mix ups I don’t feel like I have to just let people flowchart on me now like I did in Tekken 7
So another thing I wanna say is that I accidentally forgot to make my titles visible on certain parts of the video. Deeply apologize! However if people are wondering, in stealth step the attacks are: Stealth step 1 is a high punch Stealth step 2 is a mid hit (looks like a karate chop) Stealth step 3 is the mid slide Stealth step 4 is a low slide Stealth step 1+2 is a plus on block mid that forces crouch on opponent. Some of the other buttons I'm using in the video are f3+4 for the combo Oki part. Again I totally apologize for those titles not being visible in the key parts. I had them hidden when I was editing and totally forgot to put them back on...sorry!
Damn good guide!! He is definitely my main and I was looking for a quality guide to help me move forward with him since Miguel is no longer in the game 🤦♂
coming from MK1, Shaheen feels like a MK character to me bc of one thing, crouch jab. If MK taught me one thing, it is the importance of crouch jab (D1) to steal turns lol, and Shaheen is one of the few characters that has great crouch options from what I noticed
All characters do have a crouch jab, but shaheens primary thing is to be in crouch. Not to mention you can go from so much in crouch. So yeah I absolutely agree with ya 💯
@@fookkheongchin4302 oh! Yeah that's his second heat smash attack. So if you stealth step (snake stance df3+4) and press the heat smash button u will do that attack)
I started raining Shaheen after realize draginov does way to much damage and I wanted a more solid character. And I LOVE Shaheen. I've gotten to the last red rank by just playing solid pokes and d3 Into slide like all the time lol. Though my combo game is quite weak. Launch-3,4-bd2 stealth cancel-stealth 3- run - fd41 stealth cancel - stealth 3 lol Thanks for the new combo route and realizing how powerful 23 punish was.
@@majones117 typically I d3 to slide quite a bit just to see if they will block low, if they do I u4 for launch. Yeah unfortunately Shaheen can get mashed out of his stance quite a bit. To alleviate this you can cancel the stance by pressing down back. Which will make you able to block if you think they will hit a button
Ok so what I don't know how to do is the second pop up with the slap... When u do the flip for the pop up then the kick into the back hand to them up... I can't find that in the move list...
Please turn off counter hit and rage unless you're showing off CH/rage specific things, I beg of you. Not only does it skew the damage numbers, It's especially misleading at 7:32 when you list ws1 as a punishment option against Dragunovs db3, where it's >impossible< to land as a counter hit. Ws1 is meant to be a counter hit button against opponents who challenge your full crouch or SNK transitions, it is not a punish.
I leave on CH so people can see the properties of each move and it makes it easier. WS1 isn't a true punishment button sure. However like you said it's good for when people challenge you. So showing what is does as in CH and the guaranteed follow ups was is reason why I have it on. Players know that the damage high in this guide with everything is because of rage and CH being on.
I picked up shaheen after going 0-2 in tournament and realizing I needed stronger fundementals, I needed to play a character that had next to no cheese. Cuz the king was not getting me anywhere.
@@XX-ep5xt good point, I kind of wanted to change chars bc he has no cheese as you say but I think it will help me improve in the long run, plus this video showed me some extra options I could implement that I never thought of :)

@@DEANDRE_DTS I don't believe that man. You just gotta put in the lab time with Match ups. Shaheen has a lot of flaws due to him not having a lot of defensive options. Where Shaheen is a character that is best played with high emphasis on mix ups and good fundamental knowledge.
I hate that Shaheen is being discussed so Openly but since I'm here I will add one thing: Play Shaheen on Stick. I have used all Three styles. the real tech is to customize your character to look nothing like shaheen and confuse your opponent into thinking its lars or leo
