6:46 I think it makes perfect sense to go for lime green on this model. Lime green is the most iconic color for huracan, you think of lime green when you hear the word huracan, maybe an orange one for the performante, but definitely not a gray one. If anything, the other two lime products are more problematic. That shelby GT500 should have been blue, even though the lime green is one of the colors available for the car, and the sian shouldn't be lime green at all because the real car is in olive green, definitely closer to what we got on the defender.
This, 100%. Neither the sian nor the shelby should've been lime green to begin with. If anything, I'm actually glad the fact they both were the same color already didn't result in this one being grey or orange. Huracans look great in green, that's all
@@Equalsundew That, my friend, would be absolutely wrong. Yellow would be the iconic color for both the Diablo and the Murcielago, but definitely not the huracan. Also, it's spelt huracan, not hurrican, which might explain why you are getting it all wrong.
@Nathan_Drake99exactly like my koenigsegg jesko absolut because of the scale it would be impossible to brick build the lights. Maybe if it was a larger scale you could but sometimes it is not possible so it depends
Thanks for sharing your review of the 42161 Lamborghini Huracán Technic set. I've been eagerly waiting for this one, and your detailed insights were quite helpful. It's great to see another addition to the Technic Car Transporter gang. The build process seems intriguing, and the functional steering is a nice touch. I must say, I agree with you about the color choice. Lime might not have been the best decision, especially considering the known color inconsistencies with certain parts. Perhaps a different color like gray could have been a better option to avoid such issues. Despite that, the final model does look impressive, and the effort put into the front section's details is commendable. It's always interesting to see how LEGO designers come up with innovative building techniques, and this set seems to have a fair share of those. The scaled-down version of the Lamborghini looks great next to its big brother, and I appreciate that it fits on the Car Transporter too. Overall, it's a cool set for $50, and I'll probably add it to my collection despite the color hiccup. Thanks again for the review, and keep up the fantastic work with your videos!
I just finished this exact one and can tell you the color coding in the book between the grey and black parts aren't very clear at times and I had to backtrack and remove grey parts so the exact black part could fit.
"I reached out to LEGO and will let you know if anything comes back" Yeah, if they haven't managed to fix the color tints by now, they clearly don't give a sh*t, that's what's happening
Well, as I heard about this model several months ago, I was really looking forward to getting it. But after seeing the photos and the model as a whole, all the excitement disappeared.. (especially because of the front of the car). What is totally opposite to the new Audi that looks much better as I expected.
I get the feeling Lamborghini requested lime since that's probably one of their most known loud colours that's prominently featured amongst their cars over the years; I usually like lime green but I have to agree this should've been a different colour. I'd choose yellow or orange but they've been done already. Maybe purple, just to spice things up? I know there's been purple coloured Technic pieces in the past As for the set itself, I thought I'd like this as I enjoyed the Senna GTR and the Bolide, but it doesn't look like it brings much or anything new to the table and the novelty of supercars at this scale is wearing off a bit. I'd like to see a different class of car type for next time; I'll take an off-roader at this point. Even though I don't like those cars in real life, they make for fun models and toys. Or even something unique like an Ariel Atom, even though that's not a well known name outside of car fans.
I 100% agree on the pros and cons of this set. Excellent review as always. P.S. Last time I complained to CS about the too dark shade of lime on the Mustang stickers, they sent me a different version with brighter green for free. Unfortunately I had already applied the original sticker and didn't bother to remove and apply all the stickers again. Besides the print quality seemed a little worse. P.P.S. Regarding the color mismatch on the connectors, I'm afraid these would look off regardless of the color. It's the material that makes it more translucent. Take the half beams for example, they are always in a more vivid shade and shinier than regular beams. The 69819 connector is also always darker. Nevertheless, TLG needs to change their color mixture for such parts and achieve higher quality because the competition keeps improving theirs on a yearly basis.
Interesting point about the plastics and colors interacting. It unfortunately makes sense, and might make it impossible to truly match parts in two different plastics. If that’s the case, I think I’d rather have the color mismatches and the better part fit and function-some of the competitors may have better color consistency, but IME they still have poorer dimensional/functional consistency. Maybe part of that is them using the same plastic (or at least fewer plastics) for everything, instead of trying to optimize material choice for how different parts are used? That could explain the different feel of putting many of the non-Lego kits together.
Yeah the Only problem i have with it is the colour choice as we, like you rightfully put already have 2 models in that exact lime colour each with their parts and stickers being inconstant so a Grey or Orange would have been more fitting as the CAR was Marketed in that too plus they really need to rerelease that car transporter lol as it's pretty much an evergreen set.
What if Lego will make a color variation of this set as well? That would be awesome! I've had a lime green lamborghini murcielago transformer in my childhood, so my eyes are quite sore from seeing lamborghini in green.
I can’t afford the big one so happy to have this in the same color. I think that’s the rationale of Lego for keeping the same color. Looking forward to it
Damn, I want the printed tile and the hood sticker! I can cut out the sticker to fit on my aventador model from a chinese lego-compatible manufacturer.
I don't know why your hole with pin pieces are so far from the right shade, but with my Sian it's noticable but you really have to look at it. Maybe I got lucky
I agree should've been different color I also wish lego would put a little more effort in there final products unfortunately other lines suffer from same laziness
i find the lime colour inconsistencies pretty minor and i like how lego is making a lot of lime green vehicles as its my favourite colour but i think after this set they may need to stop
hi rb, I'm doing a rc mod using buwizz for a lamborghini hypercar sc63 and I wonder if use this type of steering system or newer ones like the nascar camaro/mclaren f1/ferrari 488 etc etc what would you use?
I would really love to know the age demographic of the people that actually buy this set. If it is primarily people above 18, Lego truly needs to do better.
I put the Lambo in my cart. Then I put it back on the shelf once I noticed it was the same color as my new mustang. I would have pulled the trigger on a different color Lambo. Now I wish I had bought the Camaro instead. But the Camaro wasn't available when I got the mustang. Also I think this smaller green Lambo looks better than the expensive version. I think they are going to lose lots of sales on the expensive version because of this.
I never had a Technic set in my life, but had lots of "normal" LEGO back as a child. I'm 41 now, do you think it's too late to start with this as a hobby? Is it not considered 'childish'? Thanks :)
Thank you for your excellent video. I am glad that you talk about the color inconsistencies. Lego should select a color not having such a problem - I think black and white would work. Regarding the instructions - step 5 means : are you sure ? and step 6 means : are you really sure ?😂
if it wasn't lime, noone would tell its lamborghi.... thats why. speed champions urus lime as well. imo mustang should have been the other color, not lime.
It's a children's toy, yes, but "Only the best is good enough", right? They should really bin that sign and replace it with "If it sells it's good enough". Looks like you need some more car transporters ;-)
@@RacingBrick I believe step 5 confirms what it's meant to look like, and then step 6 shows you where to put it. It seems a little strange - I don't recall them doing that prior in the book.
It feels like a step back from the Bolide and the Senna. The overly bulky rear and regular boring door mechanism are especially disappointing. Hard pass for me.
I saw the Huracan live recently. Additionally, I drove one on PlayStation. Despite this, I wouldn't recognize what a car is according to lego... 76908 Coutach, is nicer, cheaper and has interesting construction techniques. It is better to buy this set 😀

They went and surprised us by putting a differential in the Nascar set, but I guess they're back to not including them. Kind of the most disappointing aspect. That or the horrible green color matching of the pin with hole pieces. I feel like they should have gone with grey though. Let's hope we get a Ferrari or something else next.
