Thank you, you are a life saver, well a sanity saver for sure. Got my first ever embroidery machine today, have studied the book for an hour, took me another 20 to work out how to load bobbin, thread etc and as for the letters which is the main thing I needed it for spent an hour trying to work out how to resize them, and despite reading the manual several times had failed! Then I google for help and up you pop and 5 minutes later I am sewing the perfect sized letters! Thanks so much :)
I just bought the brother 400 se and am learning to use it....thanks for the help...Can you embroidery like a name/word and then another picture below it without repositioning the fabric in the hoop?
I think 4" is the widest the machine will let you program... The you can move the larger hoops up and down the carriage but that is just so you don't have to re-hoop you material. I think the machine only allows you to program within a 4x4 area. I hope this explanation helps although I don't it ill solve your problem. Thanks for posting and watching and good luck to you.
I like the Brother. I have had it for close to year now and I have had zero problems. I got this machine because I wanted an affordable machine that not only sewed but also embroidered. It's hard to beat the price and I also had a $100 gift card so that made it even better. The singer looks nice and has a lot of stitching options including fonts but I don't think it does embroidery. One of the subscribers posted his machine a Janome Memory Craft 11000. This is a great machine but very costly!
THANK YOU. I have been trying to figure out how to increase the letter size for hours. lol FINALLY smart enough to go to you tube.. .so glad i found you.
This is great! Thank you! I just got the SE400. I think whoever else designed that embroidery foot didn't know how small women's hands are. I think they should go back to the drawing board. Installing that foot is the only thing I could not figure out. There is another video on here that really showed the steps to install more clearly than the video I got with my machine.
Help! I have a 6800 PRW. I took a design with text and a pattern and decided to put text on one item and design on the other. The text went fine ...I rehooped and started the second part on a different item. The design was just starting when the electricity went off!!! The machine goes off and reboots to the beginning! How do I get back to that moment in the design without starting all over? Have you covered this? Love you tutorials ... very well done and easy to follow!
Hi Purified, how large a hoop can I use with my machine, because I have orders to get out and they've paid for their embroidery and I'm not trying to give money back. I am embroidering the word "Prophet" on a towel, it's a ministry towel but I need it to be within the perimeter of the towel border on the towel. I have the large hoop, which is a 10 x 10 i believe. Can you do a a hand towel with a 7 letter word. how big a cross can I get on a scarf also? I need a medium to a large one. Thanks
i have a brother lb6800... at first it didnt let me transfer from my laptop to the machine but now that i was able to do so it keeps on saying that the size is too large but i have already cut it down... what ca i do to fix this?
Also I think the LB 6800PRW is almost exactly the same except it has more framing options, comes with a travel bag and has the backing of Project Run Way (PRW).
Love Burley Sew! I've haven't sewn in 40 and wanted to learn to embroider with a machine. Purchased a Brother 425 and tired first time today. Watched all beginning Burley Sew videos and I say THANK GOODNESS for folks who take the time to instruct! I'm a bit overwhelmed but I managed to finally get a design on a test fabric. Thanks so much
I looked at the product (and some of the others she has) and it/they looks very promising. Thank you very much for the info. I will look into these for sure! Thanks for the post!
Hi Tim, I was wondering if you could tell me how to embroider words that are longer than your hoop - if you have to reposition your hoop, how do you do that? I'm trying to embroider sashes with 1.5" font
I have a question. I have the font and size that I need but is there a way to have the stitches a little bit thicker? I am trying to match it with something else that is on the shirt.
Unfortunately I do not think so. You could try SewWhat pro I think there may be a trial version and see if that works. Good luck and thanks for watching!
I have a pe770 can you help me out, is there a way to monogram (embroider) initials id like to not have to do each letter individually but cant seem to figure out how to make the first letter small, middle letter large and last letter small
i have a dress shirt that I'm working on. Wanting to put a business name on back of it, but am not sure how to space it, as it's an SE400 and I only have the 4" hoop. Any suggestions?
I have embrilliance and am trying to transfer the design to the SE 400 but I get the message I don't have enough disk space is there a way to put it on the brother in a temporary file? on my pfaff it shows it as 79kb but the brother is showing it at 286?
How can I thicken the thickness of the embroidery my letters don't seam to fill in well there's spots in the letters that are very thin or Like stitching skipped
Some of the letters I embroider on my SE400 are a bit misshapen. By this I mean they are not consistent and often not attractive. What am I doing wrong? I have changed the bobbin thread, changed the needle and fussed around with the tension but can't get it looking smooth and professional. What can I do??
You could do 3 monograms. The letters could be as large as almost 4 inches. You will just have to re-hoop. I am finding the in home embroidery when you want to do bigger projects re- hooping is a skill that is worth learning and practicing. Thanks for the post any good luck.
That's how I was doing it. Just seeing it there was a easier way. Now I can't figure out how to download the fonts from my computer to my machine. I've tried for over three hours one day.
I have been using SophieSew. The main reason- it is free. Most other design software is costly. I have a few videos on my channel regarding SophieSew. Check them out when you have time. Thanks for posting and watching!
You must flip your design to travel up your long hoop. Write down the numbers on the bottom of your screen. Then you jump over to the next section of your hoop. You should practice before you try to do a finished product. When you are lining up, take the thread out of your needle and start a few stitches - then stop to check your alignment. It can be done! Experiment.
Thank you sooooo much. I'm totally new to embroidering and seeing. This really helped me a lot. Now, if I can just figure out how to embroider on a pocket without embroidering thru the top and bottom fabric. Thanks!
Yay 1st one to post a comment lol. Thanks for sharing that that was interesting. I was going to buy a machine like this but LB 6800PRW I believe its almost the same just a newer version. But I was so turn off when I when I came across a site which contains the material used to build this machine. There was nothing metal inside the machine everything was plastic. No metal frame inside, so I am now thinking of buying the Singer Stylist 9960. How do you like your machine?
That is a tough one. I think you may need to re-hoop and it is going to be super hard. You will need to line up you fabric perfectly. I think you could maybe use a disappearing marker or chalk to mark your fabric. Test the two first to make sure they was out. Also you may not need to actually "hoop" your material. You could hoop the stabilizer and spray that with adhesive and then it might be easier to work with. Let me know what you come up with. I have yet to be as ambitious as you. Good Luck!
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I am a complete newly freshman no, kindergartener to embroidering. I have a Brother PE 525 embroidery machine. I feel so stupid I didn't even know that the lms was for large medium small. I kept running into the problem of not being able to spell out whole words!!! Now, I'm my current problem is ....... I go to place my pattern on the LCD screen you know a little to left and a little more higher and when I press start the needle goes way far off to the left or the right up down entirely missing my desired starting position I entered on the LCD screen. Making things very frustrating and turning simple 2 to 4 minute patterns into 45 minutes!!!! BURLEY SEW PLEEEEEEASE HELP MEEE!!!!!!!!
I really like your videos but it is difficult sometimes to see what button you are pushing when you go a little too fast. For us REALLY NEW at this, could you please slow down? Thanks
Also can you resize a design that is stored in the machine (Brother 425). I wanted to make the Halloween house bigger but not sure I can???
Thank you, you are a life saver, well a sanity saver for sure. I love this machine (Brother SE400), but I agree, the user manual is not very helpful! This video is a life/sanity saver alright! Thank you, Purified!
