- A chatty Get Ready With Me. I had a recent message on Instagram asking for tips on how to keep eye makeup on, on mature skin. Here, I show you how I do it, and some of the products I use and would recommend.
Just to be clear (and I'm not sure why), I have never received any makeup or skincare products for review or sponsorship. These are my own opinions based on my experience as a makeup artist.
I enjoy the Italian conversations. I consider them a bonus to your videos, giving me an opportunity to expand on my traveler’s Italian.

Haha love that you have make up that long… having worked for Mac for 24 years I still have my vanilla pigment , still full to the brim and I use often…. Don’t try this at home kids 😂😂 😂 and like you I love The ordinary and the Mac mascara… love it , especially as a contact user it can be removed with water, but it lasts really well. Especially as I am living in hot 🥵 Dubai. Lovely to have a true make up artist speak about make up and the name of the paint pot is vintage selection… great colour. The makeup tips are really cool! When you can, give tips on daily skin care 🥰 It might be tiring for you to translate conversations with Carlos but it's really nice to be able to hear the language of both of you with the charm of each one! 🥰
I enjoy listening to the Italian and reading the English in subtitles. It may be more work for you and I can appreciate that, but in case you never hear the comment the other way around I wanted to add it. 🙂

I am not her, but my research has shown less is more. Nothing cakey, light pinks on the apple of cheek and a bit on eyelids, a soft fill in on the brow, and a tubing mascara should be all we are using. We must use spf above all else and quality skincare is key. And remember, you are always lovely if you have love in your heart 🤗🤗.

Lovely video as always, Nicki! Your makeup tips are spot on for me since I am close to your age and coloring (red hair, pale skin.) I love how little you actually use; you look so fresh and natural. I’ve pared down my own makeup regimen following your example and I like the results. I look younger and fresher with less! Who knew?!

I'd love any tips for eyebrows!.....for those of us who overplucked in the 70's 😆....I've tried numerous eyebrow products and always seem to go back to my Maybelline pencil which is just ok
@barber0611 I agree! I over-plucked in the late 90s, added with hypothyroidism, my brows are gone. I've tried everything from stencils to pencils & I just don't have the patience.

What a neat short video! I have such blonde eyebrows and I refuse to "paint on" darker ones that look so fake to me. I wish I could find the right color and a natural way of applying it. Thank you for all the tips and tricks! ♥️☘️

Your mascara tips are awesome! I have the same problem (at 55 years old) that mascara ends up above and below my eyes. I'm going to try your suggestions.
Nikki subtitles can be translated from Italian to English if you use TH-cams subs
Yes I have done that in other languages also.
I am using Artdeco eye shadow base and Morphy eye shadows, even when sweat runs through my face, eye shadows stay well.
I remember during the pandemic when we had to wear masks and when the weather was cool there was condensation in the mask and it rose up and all my eyes were so smudged, i tried not to blink and carefully touch eyelashes with napkin to absorb moist 😅 ahhh that was so hard.
I was watching so many Japanese and Korean movies and anime, so reading subtitles is natural for me 😄

Loved the video, very well explained and thank you for showing the products which is quite helpful to then order them. You asked for filming ideas, I have 2. First, you’ve mentioned in the past certain shopping items that are not available in Italy, what do others use instead? Also, how do grow your vegetable garden each year? As in do you save the seeds to reuse the next year & how do you choose varieties & what to plant? Is there anything that doesn’t grow well, for instance?

My daughter loves the Ordinary Co products. I have Bare Minerals loose powder shadows that I never wear but can't bring myself to throw, prob from 2005😂
Hi I loved watching this video. Being you were a professional makeup artist, you really know what you're doing when applying makeup. I wear makeup every day and I'm older than you are so my skin isn't as nice as yours. I do wear eye makeup but I really can't afford some of the items you use so I do my best with less expensive ones. Thanks for showing us how you put your makeup on. I didn't hear what you use on your skin instead of moisturizer. Can you please let me know what that is? Thank you!
It’s called Squalane and the brand The Ordinary.
And it’s cheap at Ulta or Sephora.

I am so glad you’re mentioning this today!1 I have tried a variety of mascaras and I end up looking like I’ve been beaten up!! So I will try the Lancôme one hope it works for me. Would you recommend a good eyeliner that doesn’t smudge either please. I’m hitting 73 tomorrow and still like to find the right eye make up that doesn’t make me look like a crypt keeper 😏 😊. Tks.
I am 67 and have used Loreal eyeliner for years now and love it. It has a brush so you can make it as thick or thin as you like.
Your make up bag sounds like mine. 😂. I have stuff from years ago and even though I buy new stuff I just won't throw the old stuff out... I stopped wearing foundation and just use Loreals sp50 with the glow tint on my face nowadays... I use the ordinary hyalaronic acid so I'll give the Squaline a try too. thanks for the tips x😊

Tips for us blondes who have few eyebrow hairs and what we have you can't see?!
Great tips on mascara. Mine always seem to run. Would love your opinion on setting sprays vs setting powders.
I always wear the boots no7 black/brown waterproof mascara. I have very sensitive eyes it has never run.
Elf lash xtndr (tubing mascara) is the best! It doesn’t smudge-ever-and I have seriously hooded, oily eyelids. It’s inexpensive and irreplaceable.
Great tips/products, thank you Nicki! You don’t use sunscreen? That is my problem. Anything I put on top seems to run/ crease…
You do tint your eybrows, right... Because you don't do anything with them except putting wax (or don't), it's easier, it's quick job.
I was wondering, have you ever had a light colored eybrows or threating them differently as younger?
I always youse Waterproof Mascara, so I have no Problem with Black rings.

I have similar hair except my is silver and shorter. I would like to see how you use your flat iron. Sometimes I’m successful but often it ends up fried looking.

What a breath of fresh air you are!! Such a wonderful and welcome change from watching so many make up influencers on youtube, who sit there with a tub of gifted, very expensive products and make themselves look grand in 12 "easy" steps. Once I calculated it all up and the woman I had been viewing had used close to $400 of products and had yet to put mascara or lipstick on! This was fun, to see a normal woman, with a normal make up kit:). Well done!!

Hi Nicki, in relation to any make-up I choose Vegan and Cruelty Free which has the leaping bunny logo or PETA certified. Mac and Lancome aren't Vegan or cruelty free. I use NATIO or those that have the leaping bunny in any facial or cosmetic products. 🧡Michelle Australia 🐇

I enjoy hearing both languages. I'm Argentinian (born there, immigrated to U.S. in 1970, am U.S. citizen now), so I know Spanish and my grandfather (father's father) WAS Sicilian. Sorry for the big explanation. What I'm trying to say is there's a lot of Italian words that are similar or the same as Spanish ones and I enjoy hearing and catching one like cavallo (I think Carlo said it recently😁)in Italian is caballo in Spanish. Love this so! I am 72 and use only cream shadows by Mac or Girlactik which are my fav. I find with my dry eyes, powders can only be worn for a very short time. I love cream blushes also and always use a spot of my lipstick on cheeks. I have so few eye brows and wear bangs because they are so sparse and I'd love for you to show us how to create a brow. 💖

Funny story about things that should be binned! My friend was telling her daughters about a shampoo called “Ghee your hair smells terrific”. We remembered the commercial but they didn’t believe it so she went downstairs and found some….hahaha. I googled and they stopped making it in 1973 lol

I really liked this topic. As a woman in her fifties I am finding my skin has changed and what used to work for make up no longer does the trick. I do occasionally wear a light liquid foundation. A video on makeup tips for the aging face and neck would be great. I have enjoyed the videos with you and Carlos and the mix of English and Italian works.

Ordinary brands found in Sephora or Ulta? I buy mine in Sephora and they are much more reasonable in price.
