I know this is eight years later, but this video has made me so happy knowing other people want to capture the little idiots. They are such wonderful creatures and deserve to be captured and observed.
Such an amazing video! I LOVE insects, especially moths! The Robinson trap seems to be such a cheap but effective method! Absolutely amazing and informative! Keep up the amazing work!! :D
Hi +Ampphed we think the beer is good as the smell attracts moths (apparently stale beer is best!) but also beer is rich in calories and so it gives the moths a decent meal. We found one report that says cola makes a good alternative to beer: mothscount.org/uploads/Moth_Recorders_Handbook-finding_moths_without_moth_traps(1).pdf
Is there a way to attract/trap moths without the use of black lightbulbs, or the sugaring? I don’t have access to those, and I’d like to try attracting a moth.
@@4xxx451 not particularly but they can be annoying if they stay in. best thing to do is catch them with a net or container and release them. i had a swallowtail moth fly into my room recently
