So strange that in my '23 MME, when adding my phone, it never prompted me if I wanted to add carplay. The only way I can get android auto on my Pixel 6a is via cable. Any thoughts on how to add wireless carplay after my phone is all setup, as well as PAAK? Or do I have to completely remove my phone and start over and hope it shows up? Thanks for this great video!

That’s really odd.. on your iPhone go into Settings -> General -> CarPlay and make sure that CarPlay is enabled there. If it is, deleting the phone from the vehicle and vehicle from the phone and reconnecting over Bluetooth should do it
I don’t think I’ve run into Android Auto not working wirelessly before on this. Different Bluetooth tech or driver that’s not yet supported maybe?
      Edit:
PAAK can be setup after you’ve connected through the FordPass app. Working on a video for FordPass now but just set that up and you should have the option to enable PAAK if your build supports it

Greetings from Azerbaijan and thanks for the video. Is it possible to control the climate, charging and opening the door from a smartphone like on a Tesla?

Hey Rufat, greets from Canada! The doors are manual open only and charging locations and times can be done through the media screen. You can remote start from the app or setup pre-conditioning times through the media screen too

Hey Steve, CarPlay has been working in my 2022 MME and all of a sudden, while using it, there is no more audible sound when I click say, between NAV and music. Any ideas on that? Great videos, BTW.

Thanks! Is the volume turned down on your phone when you're connected to CarPlay and switching between nav and music? Is the music streaming from the phone or playing a source like AM/FM etc?

Struggling with the father in law’s Mach E - we want to use CarPlay but only via Bluetooth but I think it connects using WiFi for some reason - is there a way to force car play only via Bluetooth? - this is for iPhone

CarPlay and Android Auto can only work with Wifi on unfortunately. Both systems will use data from your phone for maps but if you aren't running maps then it won't chew through any phone data

First time I did it, a month ago, I had the option of selecting a preferred phone over the others on CarPlay. It disappeared.

Hmm that option should be there.. Check out around 8:45 in this video. Is yours not in the pull down menu when you're connected?

@@CarsWithSteve The last update I got, the 3.5.3 eliminated that option. It was there when I bought it two months ago. It is a hassle to have to reprogram and connect every single time I enter the car, even if only entered a store for a couple minutes.
