I see you getting in and out of the bus a couple hundred times, which is why I put my sawtable *inside* the bus. :)

I watched your video and said, "I can do that!" Drove an hour away to get the 2 3/4" TEK screws. Predrilled my 2x2 after clamping the board. I had the faith but apparently not the strength. So disappointed. Rewatching today to see if you used a corded electric hand drill/screwdriver. Are you satisfied with the length of the screws? I felt they are a little long. Doing a search I'm only battery powered screw drivers. Any suggestions to help me to get the TEK screws in? TY, Janice with Magoo.

Use an impact driver. It will go in like butter. I liked the length of the screws personally but that’s because I wanted an inch or more holding the boards into the metal. You could go with a little smaller screw if you wanted for sure. I just am using a cheap Ryobi but like I said, it’s an impact driver so it is made to make putting screws in easier.

Also maybe try holding one hand on the back and push with that hand while using the other to work the trigger and stabilize things. Let me say though… You got this! Even if you just do two boards per day. You’ll have all the strapping done in a week. Pace yourself.

@@CSSkoolieProject Thank you for the quick answers. I will pick up an impact driver first thing in the morning and put all the strength I can. I appreciate all your videos; they help a lot.

@@CSSkoolieProject OMG! The morning has turned to afternoon. Took me forever to dig thru my hubby''s organization. But I found his electric drill and it works fabulous. Going out to "Magoo" and try to video my framing. Thank you for all your help.

So glad I found y’all. If you hadn’t said something about your paint on the live chat with Skooliana, I never would’ve zeroed in on y”all. I bookmark those screws. It sure looked easy but you’re a guy and you’re a lot stronger than me but it still looked like I could do it. (Of course I would used both armed to push it in) That’s just about where I will be starting in three weeks. My house Close is a week from Friday 9/3 then I’m heading down south to start the inside.

Oh that is cool what a small world. I worked on my bus one summer ripping everything out painting the roof the next summer painting the bus all but the nose. Then... Covid hit I was supposed to retire but I worked one more year. I’m in Maine and my bus is in Pennsylvania. I could only work on it in the summer. I finally retired, sold my house and now I can work on it all the time. That is once I get moved. You two have great videos. I’ve already learned some things from them and I’ve been watching videos for years. My students helped me make the first two videos. I don’t really know how to do it so I probably won’t TH-cam my stuff.

@@sharoneasley Oh Sharon! You should. Part of the love/hate relationship of your Skoolie is making the videos, editing and such. It'll bring out a creative side that you probably already have. I had zero experience editing, building, painting etc. now I do it all. I (Chris) set out to learn something new every day. Keep it up! We're so happy that you've been able to watch our channel and see us grow a bit also.

Looking good and strong. If the screws your using to anchor the wood to the hat channel have wings on them then you don't have to pre drill though the wood. Very nice work so far.

Whats your opinion on the Ryobi brand of cordless tools. Seen you're using the 18 volt. Would you get a different brand if given the chance?

Love my Ryobi. We also have the two Dewalts that you see in the picture. Just really haven’t needed to use them on the build yet as the Ryobi does everything that I need.
