THE TRANSITION ON THIS ALBUM!!
OMG YES the transition from Red Flags to Cross That Line was so seamless I never even notice it😭😭
No broke boys is such a bop. I've had it on repeat since release
Idk it just has the same silly lyrics as any other song these days bragging about vain nonsense
I remember watching old videos of Tinashe recording in her bedroom. When 2 On came out I thought she was gonna have a moment, and then everything fizzled. But she kept pushing on and this album is incredible. I'm so glad she's getting her recognition because she clearly has worked so hard over the last decade.
@@ScottThePisces it’s sooo funny bc I remember not moving at all when that came out but All Hands On Deck SOLD me w the little choreo and painted legs and shiii
Becoming a Tinashe fan since BB/angel is soo exciting this album was too good. Can't wait for more visuals or a short film like BB/ANGEL
@@aobakwekeatlhomile8226 yesss I hope we get a film out of this too!!
The first time i saw Tinashe was on the slumber party song with Britney and since then i really like her. She has a beautiful voice and she has that pop star factor.
@@dinasilva9263 the one good thing RCA did was have them collab- and it was too good, Tinashe loves Britney so much
Again, you’re so real for talking about Tinashe on this Tuesday.. my girl forever 🖤🖤🫶🏾
“No Broke Boys” is definitely a radio friendly song and I can see it being a bigger hit than “Nasty”. Tinashe does it again proving she can make all types of music whether she has creative control or not. Tinashe is just so multi-faceted. I love her, I’ve always been a fan.
Been a Tinashe Fan since 2012 when I discovered her mixtapes on “Datpiff” I still blast “in case we die” to this day. So glad I got a chance to meet her earlier this year in the BB/Angel tour
This Part 2 is so beautiful - reminiscent of her old mixtapes but elevated. It feels so vulnerable, deep, intimate: she hasn't jumped on the nasty train and gone commercial but kept on course and put out what she truly wants to release right now. True creative ❤
Not your analysis being as long as the album😂😂 I love your work and this is another hit!! Very intelligent, very thoughtful, very demure.😂
Tiansh ft Jeremih’s song X is so underrated. That was on repeat in 2021 alongside Normani’s Wildside
@@BellesViewcan’t believe 333 was released in 2021… feels like yesterday 😭
You and Tinashe have a lot in common. You both put out incredible content & you're both absolutely, _insanely,_ gorgeous. 🥰✨
I was ascending when i heard Thristy....but i read the lyircs and i was like: Mrs. Nashe is back 😦
This album has been on repeat since it dropped and has made me an even bigger fan of Tinashe. She brings something different to the table every time and delivers with incredible production and lyrics. I hope she goes on tour soon 😄😄
I really liked your breakdown of this album, it has given me a new perspective and has changed the way I approached it before. Great video!!
I love that not one Tinashe project sounds the same. Some albums may have may have a similar vibe but they still stand on their own. She has so much versality as an artist an originality
BB ANGEL was monumental and quantum bb is like the nighttime vibes, i love this album and the last one, everything nashe touches is gold
NIGHTRIDE influences are on this album for sure, subtly but otherwise her vision of Album / EPs trilogy gets to come to life. Her artistry is 🔥
Tinashe is absolutely killing it I'm so obsessed with Quantum Baby and I can't wait to get the vinyl!
I love the consideration and thought that you put behind analyzing each song on this album and revealing the narrative that it was telling like with BB/ANGEL!
0:35 idk if this has been mentioned but if i remember correctly, tinashe said the entire trilogy was originally one album but was split up into 3 parts to make them more "digestible", so in a way it can be considered as an interlude!
@@luxenn ah this would make sense! And it’s funny bc at the end I was like it’s probably for the better this was split
This was one of her best releases yet!! Super loved how much I felt like I was immersed in this world she has built herself to tell this story and explored the thesis statement of the album. "No Broke Boys" and "When I Get You Alone" were my fave non-singlesss
i’m not as obsessed with this part as i was the first tbh. it’ll have to grow on me. sidebar you look so pretty omg
I love how Tinashe has her own sound and that she’s starting to get the recognition she deserves because she’s so dope! Tinashe has yet to release a bad project ❤❤
while talking about Getting No Sleep, I feel like pinkpantherous would eat the remix
i need to listen to this piece of art right now!!! tinashe is AAA - art, air, amazing
Thank you for covering this album! I remember first hearing Tinashe with 2 On and then she fell off my radar until the Company music video came out and I was stunned by it (still am). Unfortunately I forgot again but then when the 333 era came around I finally did a deep dive into her discography and I think that was one of the best music-listening decisions I've ever made! Not only can you hear all the work and dedication in her amazing albums, but you can also see it with the visuals she does for each one. The Tinasheprint is real and she deserves all the recognition!!
this album played at night hits different for some reason!
Thirsty is the best track, it kinda reminds me of songs off JoyRide, and I love that album which is probably why it scratches a particular part of my brain
Tinashe is not underrated because she's already has a stellar mentality and the right drive - which puts her miles above anyone else. As stated in a recent article:
“ A lot of people need validation that something is popular in order to like it, because a lot of people are just followers,” she says. “Some people don’t resonate with the idea of being able to just make something for the sake of making something.”
As noted in one early Guardian profile, the background image on her phone used to be a photo of a Grammy - motivation to one day win music’s highest honour.
She changed it a few years back, when she decided to stop “holding on to material or tangible markers of success,” she says. “I think it’s really toxic to have that mentality, especially long-term as a creative. It’s cool to have goals, but it’s more important to focus on legacy, and art.”
So I'm happy that she feels in a good place, that in itself is a huge achievement! Great video by the way, let's all enjoy Quantum Baby 😇
I remember that pitchfork interview where she said losing the Grammy for best new artist motivated her, I'm glad she chose to just focus on her art and creativity rather than an award!
i been a stan since 2on and got into all of her mixtapes anspronecfs and I sweareach album and sound has its own identity! I'm so proud of my sis and her not giving up on herself and craft. Quantum baby is everything 🔥
No Broke Boys instantly went on repeat for me. Red Flags also really stood out for me because the instrumental is literally just one synth loop for 2 minutes but she still made it super engaging through her vocals and songwriting. Your analysis of the relationship being in a "loop" ties back to that.
ugh these breakdowns are always so good. the context helps me understand what i'm listening to and enjoy it more
Thank you Naomi for reintroducing me to Tinashe. Been obsessed with her now for years bc of you and am going to see her on tour in November! 😭
So glad someone else loved this album. Tinashe does well with concept albums!
Thank you for making this video 🙌 I listened to the album last week and thought it was just a bunch of cute bops but it makes it so much enjoyable knowing the overall concept and how each song contributes to it to tell a story. I did not catch the deeper storyline at all. I'm very excited for part iii next year
Red Flags > Cross That Line > When I Get You Alone is the 3 track run that is quite literally on repeat every couple of hours with me.
Cross That Line is my #1 on this album for me. I forever am thankful I found Tennis Shoe (Tinashe) in 11th grade/2019 and she has become one of my top 10 favorite artists of all time.
This was wonderful. More Tinashe deep dives, please!
Tinashe is just one of a kind. She lives in a specal corner of my heart reserved only for really special pop girlies - Robyn, Carly Rae, and Tinashe, the queens of No Skips
Becoming a Tinashe fan since Songs For You era. Philippines ❤ u, Nashe!!!! 😘☝🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🔥
Her best Album to date let's be real, every single song does it for me!!
WHEN NAOMI POSTS YOU RUNNNNNN
Great review! Hadn't picked up on the whole storyline throughout the album. Apart from her smash "Nasty", my favorites are "No Broke Boys" (I strongly see it as the next single; also the most tiktok-dance friendly), "No Simulation", and that switch-up on "When I Get Alone".
She's definitely following a certain sound during this trilogy and it's smart that she's broken it down in three projects, because-as you pointed out-it could have been somewhat redundant all together, but they're very palatable in small doses.
This album feels reminiscent of night ride(red flags) and even songs for you(no broke boys). The cover does throw me off though because i see this album as a nighttime album, but the cover is in daytime. My favorites right now are red flags, getting no sleep, and thirsty. If there is one thing Tinashe does really well, it’s creating very atmospheric music.
Red Flags is my fav song!!!
I squEaLED OUT LOUD WHEN I SAW THIS OMGGG
Been a fan of her since she came out in 2014 really love her new album 👍🏾❤️
Okay Naomi, it's been long enough. I really need to know where these signature jade earrings are from.
Songs for you and 333 are top tinashe albums but this album is easy to listen too and the transitions in the songs are amazing
I've been obsessed with bbangel since it came out I love this one too
I’m keen for part 3 to be “decentering men baby” lol. Tinashe, sza & I all have Venus (planet of love) in the 12th house of isolation and loss. Finding tangible love isn’t easy with this Astro placement. Great sex yes (also house of bed pleasures), love not as much. It helps them/us artists tho, bringing that yearning to the music. The thing is love is all around us and doesn’t have to be romantic. We all have different purposes and paths and it’s like Sadghuru said in Sza’s song “rejection is great, if no one wants you, you’re free”.
Third single should be “no broke boys” and yes second half of album gives “songs 4 u”.
It's a beautiful body of work. Made me feel like i was floating in outer space at times😂
Imagining the 3rd album is gonna b called “Matter bby” as in, “what’s the matter baby?” 🤪
I'm still confused how Tinashe gets to make out with herself in the Getting No Sleep video like what is the trickery here? Anyways, Getting No Sleep and Red Flags are my personal faves just because of the vibes. They sound very futuristic and so earwormy, though When I Get You Alone is the highlight of the album imo. Plus, the transition to the second part in the song is so smooth.
I was about to listen to it,then I got the notification
So now this album has to pass the Naomi check😂
The universal feeling of being a Tinashe fan and knowing the album is going to be good but still being surprised by her experimentation and quality when it drops 😫
I appreciate you mentining the Quantum Baby and the Paradox themes that Tinashe wanted to approach, but to be honest, that's precisely the one thing I didn't appreciate in this album: judging from her statements prior to the release, I assumed that the music would tackle a wider array of topics.
It's a bit too much relationship-focused for me and it doesn't tell me anything about Tinashe's contradictions and vulnerabilities that she hasn't told already.
That's a minor "complaint" though! I simply love her songs that aren't exclusively about love & lust: Black Water, Cold Sweat, Lucid Dreaming, Pasadena, Small Reminders, etc. It would have been nice if this album allowed to dive deeper into other facets of Tinashe
💛
Oh I definitely agree. I remember the songs she made about her inner thoughts and ambition - Sunburn, You Don't Know Me, Painted Faces and Cold Sweat. Also Indigo Child too! Those impressed me because she did try discussing herself and sounded cool to me. Maybe the next part of the trilogy will be about herself and her desires, lifestyle, opinions??
Red Flags is so Thundercat coded. No Simulation reminds me of Solange and No Sleep of Pinkpanteress. The most 'Tinashe' song here is definitely Thirsty. Its so her. 🫧🧚🏽♀️😊
tinashe is so talented, people SLEEP on her
can we get your review to Trouble in Paradise by Chloe
no broke boys will be on repeat for the next month at least!!!
I swear Tinashe is so versatile. She has like 10 different voices. Every song sounds like an entire girl group.
I’m glad you liked it I didn’t tbh and I love tinashe down
ok Part 2 is amazing! the only thing i don't like is the cover! it just doesn't make any sense paired with the first BB/ANG3L! Like if it's a trilogy surely you'd want all three covers of the project to look cohesive together! like shy is she in front of a car all muddy... it doesn't even make sense to the kind of music in it or the title! i'd have preferred a very strip down cover like the first BB/A maybe with a different hairstyle and accent colour or something!
I wasn't a fan of this album. Songs For You was my favorite album post record company. Maybe I'm not interested in the trilogy. Still listened and supported. No Broke Boys should have been the very next single imo right after the Nasty success. It is very catchy and I can see being popular on Tik Tok
Songs for you is sooooooo good 😩 I’m still trying to get into this album too
@@allie3482 I will say bb/angel took a little time to grow on me and I love it now so this is fair!
"No broke boys" was a easy top 20 single that she missed...why didn't she make that song a single? 🤔
Definitely a let down, specially coming out of BB/Ang3l. It feels a lot like the worst parts of 333. No much evolution in the themes of the songs sonically or lyrically, and no much connection between songs. Nasty and No Broke Boys stand out a lot both in a good and bad way, because those are the best songs, but also don't fit much with the vibe on the album. For such a short album, it just feel weird.
BB/Ang3l truly felt like an album, this one just feel like a bunch of singles and rejects. It's still good, but it's almost a step back and it's sad, because with Nasty it has been the most successful outing she's had, and I wish she would've gone all the way in this album.
Tinashe is a mood, but I know she can give more.
taste per usual, nothing new for Naomi
I wish that she got a little more attention during this era because she was ahead of her time with her sound.
I hear her sound in so many artist and group music.
Same… nasty was everywhere and yet we have the same old same old names on top of the charts
@@ShweMyaukMyaukmomentary hype i frar
@@ahmarindungu9010 truly, but I liked what she said about how it’s unhealthy to focus on being “underrated”- bc at the end of the day she’s probably like thank god I can make what I want to rn
