      I don’t think they’re fully opposing the take on starting rookie QBs, more so the way Tom articulated it by calling the game dumbed down. It’s insulting to the players and coaches of today and, more importantly, it’s not very accurate. It’s a senile old head take.

      The game had to switch to mainly RPO, shotgun and spread offense because the qbs couldnt handle the playbook. Its also the reason most of them can only make 1 read and then they take off.
      Not to mention how easy the game has become for offenses with pass interference rules and the ultimate protection of the QB, albeit Brady shouldnt be complaining about that he’s the one that started the whole u cant touch the QB, the Pats O-line never gets holding calls and ridiculous pass interference calls favoring them.

    The game is dumbed down. It's easier to be a QB now. That's Tom Brady's point. Most coaches now are pass-focused and research and build teams to operate in a pass-friendly system. It's common knowledge especially for an actual NFL fan. It doesn't mean QB's are dumb, but the game is dumbed down and mostly on defense. How many QB's were throwing with the stats that most throw now? Maybe 5. Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Favre, Peyton Manning.

    Having systems built on college player and what players do well doesnt make the system better or smarter.
    Manning throwing all those picks could have messed up his development. It CERTAINLY messed up the no.2 pick.
    David Carr starting behind a HORRIBLE O line for 2 yrs that wrecked him and he never recovered.
    We lost Luck thanks to going to a horrible team and not giving him development or an OFF line to protect him.
    ESPN analyst are idiots. They either never played or was a backup at the position or was just a quality starter at a supplemental position.

    Flores was used to winning it all in New England, so he expects nothing less. At the end of the day, the fact is, Tua still doesn't belong if they want to win it all. He was superb last year, no doubt. However, that was mostly against teams with losing records. He was 1-6 vs teams with winning records. And their lone win was against Dallas (by 3 points and in Miami) which was promply blown out in the playoffs just 3 or so weeks later at Dallas' home. And all that was with the addition of Tyreek Hill and the track team Miami now has.
    You can take it however you want, but at the end of the day, if the goal is to be great vs average to bad teams in the regular season, then Tua's great for that as long as you keep the fastest offensive skill players in the league around him. But if the goal is to go deep in the playoffs, nevermind wining it all, then Flores was right.

    It's an understanding and adjustment of the NFL game. Most rookies have to learn about defensive shemes , learn knew formations and work on NFL mechanics, even have to learn to play under center. Plus I'm pretty sure a 6th round draft pick spent a lot of time watching film. One more thing, I think coaching was more intense, I think the league softened with some rule changes.

    • @keith2527
      @keith2527 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      But the game has evolved in ways that benefit rookies. For example, modern college offenses are more similar to NFL schemes than they used to be, which can ease the transition. Plus, with advances in technology and training, players have more resources to prepare for the NFL game. Coaching might be different, but it’s also more specialized now, with position-specific coaches and tailored training programs. So while the league might have softened in some ways, it's also become more sophisticated in others

    Bottom line Tom Brady is right. It's more advanced than just what he's saying about rookies. The problem in today's NFL is everybody is drafted off talent. There's a reason Tom was 4th on the depth chart and that reason is because from a physical stand point he was barely better than your average Joe. Now it is a little bit of him hating because he wasn't born with Lamar Jackson's speed and shiftiness, BUT a lot of guys now a days come in to the league thinking that they can get by with their pure athleticism. There are very few quarterbacks in the league today that can actually read a defense on every single play. Reading defenses setting them up with your eyes studying game film is a lost art. Now a days what the NFL is looking for is can you throw the ball 80 yards? Can you run a 4.4 40? Because that's exciting. But you don't need to be smart to run a 4.4 is what tom is saying

Now they literally have tablets on side lines where you can see instant replay from every angle. Now they’re literally getting coached while the game is going on with the microphone built into the helmet so you can hear the defensive coordinator screaming blitz or they are in cover 3. Nothing personal it’s just they don’t have to put in as much as you did Tom.
