To be fair, I have this car and have taken it on motorways and I can honestly say I didn't have any of these problems. Yes, my foot was flat to the floor to get it up to 70, but it didn't take too long at all and once I hit 70 it wanted to keep going and I had to reduce my speed considerably to get back to the speed limit.
I love my 107 and couldn't fault it, it's done 200.6 miles since the last time I put a full tank of fuel in it and it's only dropped one bar so no complaints from me!
My friends with other cars are actually jealous of how cheap this car is to run and its perfect for me being a student and only working part time, it gets me where I need to be at a low cost and long journeys don't bother me at all.
So I'd say anyone thinking to buy this car who isn't too bothered about the lack of space; just do it, you won't regret it!

I agree, it's only slow if you don't know how to drive. If you gear it properly and give it a bit of boot it will easily do the speeds required for the open road. It is not supposed to be a turbo nutter car.

I've owned one of these for about 1 year now and the car is great!! I'm not looking for a flashy expensive car to show off to my friends but just something that gets me back and forth to work everyday and this does this perfectly! I have to drive 20 mins to work and 20 mins back and on motorways!! I've never had any problem with the engine being noisy or having to throttle it to get it up to high speed!! Honestly this is a great car for me and I won't be changing any time soon 😊😊😊

I've owned a Peugeot 107 since 2010, a Millesim which was top spec for the time. It's a fantastic little car. It is noisey on the motorway (more wind noise than engine), but it's definitely not an unpleasant car to drive. The girl in this must have expensive tastes regarding using the 107 for long journeys. I drove me and the girlfriend to Budapest last year in the 107, a 3,500 mile round trip. It was absolutely fine, and fun to drive!

Nice point. I think we all get snobby about internal detailing, and I saw this car and was puzzled by the exposed metal. But that was the way every 70´s car was made, I remember my dad´s Corollas and Coronas from the seventies, in which the door upholstery was only a vinyl-pressed wood square posted on the inside of the door. It was nice, because you could see your dad´s car color from the inside, lol...

The only problem I found with mine was the hideously high clutch (which was the garage's fault having clutch the cable at the top). This has now been fixed. If you gear it properly it is a nippy car and looks are subjective to the eyes of the beholder. It's a great city car and will give chavs in 1.2 corsas a run for their money with it's 3 cylinder bottom end pickup.

I'm a mature driver. I've owned big cars, big motorbikes and vans. I've just bought a 107 because I'm sick of cars draining my wallet. I only picked it up today and drove it 30 miles home on the motorway. I was expecting it to be painfully slow but it was fine. It easily kept pace up to 80mph and that's fast enough for me. There was enough acceleration to pass slower vehicles and while noisier than my previous car, it wasn't as bad as reviewers claim. I'll have to compromise in terms of load capacity but I can't criticise the car for that. I'm really looking forward to the zero road tax and 60mpg. As for driving it felt fun on city roads. It actually reminds me a little bit of a dodgem and that's a compliment. I also like the spartan interior. I'm fed-up of the over-complicated interiors. You just don't need all that stuff. This is a bit like going back to my first cars in the 80s when I didn't have much at all in the cockpit. It's actually filling me with nostalgia.

I disagree with the reviewer's suggestion that the suspension is firm. I've been driving one for a few weeks on a temporary basis and I think the suspension is pretty soft. Also, considering the car is built to be cheap, build quality is actually pretty damn good.

Had one of these and we took it on long M-way journeys a fair bit. It was fine. If you grab one with air con the windows really don't matter - the a/c could make the cabin like Siberia even in hot sunny conditions. My only gripe was the poorly thought out roof line. It curves down at the back slightly, which makes the rear seats feel a bit closed in. If it had a squarer rear profile it'd feel a lot more spacious without needing to be either longer or wider.

Great little cars. The beauty of them is you have fun at slower speeds. Drive a big performance car at 40mph and it feels boring. Drive the 107 and it's an absolute hoot. I love the 'back to basics' feel and the engine note is intoxicating. It's a proper driver's car. It's not fast but it feels fast and that's all that matters. Yeah on long wide roads people in their 3 litre diesel Audis and Volvos thunder past me like I'm going backwards but that's ok because I have the road to myself and I'm having fun. People tend to leave me alone when I'm in my 107. I've had performance cars and there's always someone wanting to prove themselves against you. I don't get that with the 107 because they just think you're not a car guy. That's fine with me.

+cato storlid yeah I actually bought one since this comment, first car and I absolutely love it. It's nippy, gets me about and petrol is cheap I hardly ever have to fill up the tank.

yes, plastic covers do nothing to the qualify, but it does matter to the safety.
Just image in the case of collision, when the body especially the head touches the car body...

I tried to find a car sold with a periscope (even if optional), but invain. Sooner or later some solicitor will get injured because of poor visibility and will take makes to the courts and get them busted, then they will start caring about visibility again. The original 106 was not much longer than the 107 and rides 100 times better. Luggage is not just small, but hard to access and poorly usable. the 107 already needs a proper second generation and a diesel engine.

I've never understood why car reviewers criticise cars for not being good at doing things they were never designed to do. So it's not great on long runs and there's not much storage? It's like ordering a packet of Rolos and complaining it didn't feed the extended family on Christmas day. It's a city car ffs!

Ok so it's really not that bad, this car. But a Kia Picanto gets you more car for your money, with proper windows, door cards, a bigger boot, and a 7 year warranty. So if I was going to buy a car in this price bracket, that is the one I would go for.
