      I would like to see the family of 7 where all are above 1,85m (Thomas size If i remember correctly) and drive in the same car.
      The 3, max 5 existing ones in europe are probably not justifying making the car longer...
      A good friend has 3 siblings, so with parents they are 6 and back then, when they still went to school and travelled together they magically managed to seat the little ones in the area with lesser space in overall way less comfortable cars.
      Crazy concept, right?
      And i don't think a S class SUV is the typical workhorse where you need to squeeze in the colleagues to drive to a customer or whatever.

    Thomas thanks for doing the 3rd row seat. This just made the current generation of GLS and GLE looks more usable. Also in Canada the cost of replacing a EQS battery is around $50k CAD so after 10 years of usage it would be a nightmare compared to only spend $5k to replace the current 48v battery of the mild hybrid system. Economy wise the current GLS and GLE 450 (7 seater configuration) is looking like the best thing to own for long term as I cannot see someone spending $50k on gas, and fluid change in 10 years. Until they manage to improve cost of battery replacement and develop the battery to make it smaller with the same KWH. These electric cars are looking like disposable vehicles now.

    Yeah, this shows the EQC might've been a pretty quick push to just get an EV SUV on the market for Mercedes, while this fully realized, dedicated platform is what they're really capable of. Different size classes, of course, but styling and packaging is much mroe realized.

    • @DeeSock
      @DeeSock 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree though in fairness to EQC it has it's own advantages too such as heat pump, simpler quicker door handles that always work, generally cheaper, less distracting screen, for some easier-to-use buttons instead of capacitive everywhere, more components shared with other cars, 4wd as standard, faster acceleration as standard comparing entry models, charge port cover not held on by awkward piece of string, doesn't need complications like rear wheel steer etc. Upgrades like range and charging time aren't quite even double in the real world either and may not be relevant to some users anyway

    • @TobyStgt
      @TobyStgt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the easiest way. There is just the "EQS" badge at the rear. Because it's the EQS-Model, that is available as saloon and as SUV. But no need to writ that down, because you see it.
      Like the E-Class since many years. Available as saloon, wagon, coupé and convertible. All are just named E-Class. But if you wanna specify it, you say E-Class Coupé. Same here.
      So you just have EQA, EQB, EQC, EQE, EQS, EQV, EQT as models - and the body variants have no separate names. Easy and clear. Why should you give them more different names?
