    I’ve been having so much trouble trying to understand the fourth usage of “que” and this lesson was very helpful. I still don’t understand the usage completely but I feel less lost now because of you! Muito obrigado!

    hi Bea,
    i've been trying to learn Brazilian Portuguese on a site claiming to be the best way to learn a language...but without your precious explanations, i'd be completely lost. for instance, among other "failures" (as far as i'm concerned) the site doesn't bother explaining the difference between que and quê, indeed!
    many thanks to you!

      Olá Pique, tudo bem? I'm glad you find my explanations helpful! Thank you for your feedback! 😊
      I strongly recommend learning from different sources, as you have been doing, because it is quite a challenge to find a single one that covers every single aspect of a language.

    Thank you so much Bea for the lesson! I have veen waiting for that one😊.. I do have one question for you, I know that when you use the verb "ter" then use another verb directly after it, you have to use "que" between them, are there any other verbs that have this rule? Thanks again..

    • @PlainPortuguese
      @PlainPortuguese  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olá Max! I am glad you like this lesson!!
      Now, other verbs that require the use of 'que' when followed by another verb ... 🤔... I can only think of 'ter'.
      I will let you know if I remember another one.

      Oi Yeniree, tudo bem?
      Have you watched the lesson on how to ask questions using 'O que', 'Que', and 'Qual'?
      In that lesson, I explain the difference better and provide some more examples.
      I will leave the link to it here, just in case.

    I have a question regarding the pronunciation of the word "que." When I hear the word "que" being used by Brazilian Portuguese speakers sometimes it sounds like the word "kay" and other times it sounds like "key." Is there a reason for there being two different ways to pronounce the the word "que"? Are there specific rules that determine which pronunciation to use? Thank you.

      Olá! Tudo bem? I suggest you watch the following lesson on pronunciation to understand what happens with words that have a final unstressed -e sound. Hope it helps :)

      Oi, Heidi! It can be rude if you put too much stress on the word 'quê'.
      'Você disse o QUÊ?' - sounds rude or as if you can't believe your ears.
