What if it doesn’t have the Minecraft_server because I added FTB mage quest mods to it and it loaded the server without mods then I copied all files over and it just didn’t work I’m guessing because there was no Minecraft_server

@@BisectHosting I did but I did some more digging and server files that were not from the tekxit website like in the video you have to download Java from the server files as a server instead of a client. That step basically was non existent in this video preventing almost every other modpack server to be used. You could update the video to accommodate this so people could actually use other packs. You double click the .jar file with the java version in the server files after you unzip them and select the server option instead of client. You set the folder to download to your server files folder. Once that is done continue with the videos instructions with renaming that file custom, zipping it and uploading it
is this the same thing you'd do for a twitch modpack for example RLcraft? reason i ask is because i know the RLcraft server folders don't come with minecraft forge etc to run the server you need to combine it using forge's installer then put the RLcraft server folder together then you get what you have in the video with tekkit

It depends on the modpack and update -- sometimes you will have to reset but usually, if it's the same pack and it's a normal update, a reset is not needed. As always, be sure to backup your server before making any changes like this, just to be safe :)

Is the exact max file size 500mb, because my zip is 501mb and I haven't rented the server yet (I know you said 500mb but sometimes people like consistency and pick 512mb because its half a gb).

You can add specific mods to your server by uploading them into the mods folder. Keep in mind you'll also have to do the same on your client since the mods folder on the client and server must have a matching set of mods. RLCraft requires at the very least 4GB of RAM for the server, it's a very heavy modpack.

im trying to set up a pixelmon server and it doesnt have a minecraft_server file, what do i do
is the texkit thing needed to play modded minecraft ore is this a mod ?

If i extract the forge installer.jar then only the universal.jar installs but the minecraftserver.jar doesnt, how can i get that?

You can upload files via FTP if they are too big for the web panel!
I've been trying to switch versions for a few days now but everytime I select 1.16.5 and save setting it reverts back to 1.12.2
